My siatic nerve is killing me, and suggestions on how to make it better?

I have had chronic sciatica for 14 years from a back injury. I have had steroid injections, chiropractic visits, physical therapy, surgeries and numerous medications. When I have a bad flare up nothing helps it but rest and strong pain relief. To help prevent flare ups I sleep with a pillow between my knees and I walk as much as I possibly can on a daily basis. Exercise is actually very good for sciatica, but you need to be cautious about what you do. Walking is very good, but avoid hills and stairs. Cycling actually causes me more intense pain, and nothing is better than swimming, as there is no impact. If the pain continues you really need to find the cause of the problem. Obviously something is putting pressure on your sciatic nerve, but you need to find out what and why. Try not to wait too long... my back issues were misdiagnosed for so long that I now have permanent nerve damage. Best Wishes.

It seems like you're trying to argue that eating disorders are not glamorous, like they're sometimes portrayed, but I think you're doing this in the wrong way entirely. Saying that she's never eaten 'Nutella', ie. anything unhealthy, fattening, only enforces the stereotype that girls with eating disorders never eat anything. I would change the approach, do not include a model's name, you can shame this glamorisation without body shaming.
Here's an example of something you could do?: Friend, I am so sorry. You too, are sick. Do not trust the distorted images surrounding you, beyond the perfect physique lies erased imperfections. There is misery devouring those frail framed girls you aspire to be.

I want to become better at basketball. Any suggestions on how I can start?

I'm not the best at basketball but I do know certain elements to becoming a better player.The first thing you need is to find a certain style of play that fits your height, weight, etc. as it's important to see your strengths. For example, if you're 5′3, you're probably not going to be a guy whose main focus is to block shots.After you have found your style, start practicing every day and spend 75% of your time working on your strengths. An example is if you practiced an hour, spend about 45 minutes focusing on the style of play you chose.The absolute biggest thing you should try to do is to try and improve your stamina. There have been many talented players in basketball who never amounted to anything as they couldn't play more than 20 minutes a game.If your build is that of a guard, improve your speed. If your build is that of a forward or center, improve your strength. If you're a SF, I'd recommend having a nice balance of both.The absolute last thing you need to do is to practice every day. When you practice, don't go right out and start shooting three pointers. Start with some simple lay ups and slowly increase the distance of your shots. If you practice every day, you learn more things and the game becomes much smoother.

Find ways to incorporate motion into your studying (writing, flashcards, etc.).

Get a board game like trivial pursuit, monopoly, etc., make new cards with the information you need to learn, and play the game, drawing one card each turn and answering it before you get to move your piece.

To memorize lists, go get a basketball, and bounce the ball. For each bounce, say one item on your list.

To remember and analyze overall concepts, find a way to apply them around your house (especially for science). For social studies, find something you can do that is close to what the historical figures did (but safer), and do it while thinking about them.
