How do I lose FAT by fasting in Ramadan?

Ramadan can be the perfect occasion for the fresh and healthy beginning, your body has been looking for all along. For many Muslims worldwide, the practice of refraining from food and drink from dusk to dawn for the holy month of Ramadan will start in a few days. It is a time of worship and contemplation. A time to strengthen family and community ties. But fasting for prolong periods, without food and water, can be challenging physically and mentally. Many Muslims who are concerned about their physical fitness will find themselves wondering how to stay fit and healthy during Ramadan.Although it may seem like mission impossible with the long fasting hours this year, hydration is key to weight loss this Ramadan. Drinking enough fluids will not only keep you from becoming dehydrated while you fast, but it will also control your sugar cravings after you break your fast. How much should you aim for? A good two liters or eight glasses of fluids a day will suffice, and it can be broken down like this:-• Two glasses at iftar (the breaking of the fast)• Four glasses in between iftar and suhur (the meal before the fast) - not more than one glass per hour• Two glasses at suhurKeep in mind that caffeinated drinks such as coffee or black tea do not count and it would be best to avoid these diuretic drinks all together. Instead, herbal teas make a great alternative to water and may aid your digestion. For more details :- Stay Healthy With 5 Easy Tips On Ramadan Diet

Im finding it realllllly hard to fast... i need help!?

Salams,

Firstly, I'm really happy for you that you started fasting :) At 15 years old, it's FARD (required) for you to fast, the only excuse would be medical.

Next time, wake up for suhoor. It's sunnah (meaning the Prophet did it), even to drink a sip of water. It will really carry you through the day.

It is haram if you don't fast. If you delibrately do not fast, you must make up the days you don't fast + either feed a poor person for 60 days (and if you can't do that) then you have to fast for 60 days in a ROW.

I suggest you read this:

http://www.islamqa.com/en/ref/38747

In the Qur'an, it says “O you who believe! Observing As-Sawm (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqoon (the pious”

[al-Baqarah 2:183]

Also, what you can do to help your fast is

1) Eat suhoor (I already mentioned this). Drink a LOT of water at night and at suhoor time.

2) Ramadan is a month where you should be improving yourself. It is the month of Qur'an too...try to read/memorize a few verses everyday! It'll help keep your mind off of food and insha'Allah you'll be rewarded for what you do.

3) Keep yourself busy. If you sit and wait for Iftar time to come...you have a LONG way to go. Spend time with friends (make sure you remember Allah, so that your gathering is blessed!) and maybe even break your fast with them! It's always nice to break your fast with your friends.

I wouldn't recommend sleeping, because that kind of takes the spirit of Ramadan away. Just remember, everytime you feel a pang of hunger, Allah (SWT) is rewarding you and taking away your sins. The hadith says, "No Muslim is afflicted with any hurt, even if it is no more than the pricking of a thorn, but Allah wipes off his sins because of it and his sins fall away from him as leaves fall from a tree."

So don't worry, it's not to waste! Hunger and thirst are just a little part of Ramadan, the reward and blessing is much greater!

That's really as much as I can tell you. The first day is always the hardest, but insha'Allah, with time, it gets easier. I promise =]

Ramadan Mubarak and may Allah (SWT) ease your fast!

If you miss suhoor....is it better to continue the fast or make the day up after Ramadan?

It is between you and Allah,

Try to keep fasting if you can, but if you are about to faint and you feel very weak, Allah allow to breakfast in such cases and you can compensate it after Ramadan by fasting a replacement day

Allah will not give us a task that exceeds our capabilities (La youkallifo Allaho Nafsan Illa wos3aha).

Whenever you feel sick or weak during Ramadan and you are fasting, try to do the following:

-Try to explain that to your family and seek assistance from family memebers who can assist youin the home work

-Try to reduce the volume of work that you have to do, prepare very simple meals or the left overs of the day before

-The rest of home jobs try to asign daughters/sons/brothers or sisters to do it, if they are not used to it, distribute the work on them so it will be easy task for each one.

-If your kids are young , even husband can give important assistance in this case , I used to give a hand to my wife to keep her rest when she is sick or exhausted.

-Don't go outside home to avoid exposure to sun and being thirsty, beside you are weak.

-After distributing the work, get as much rest as you can, stay in bed if you can read or listen to the Qur'an or even sleep, your body needs rest when sick or exhausted for not sleeping well.

The family is a unique unit, everybody should help in case of emergency, and sick mom is one of those cases, teach you kids and family how to feel with each other and how they can give assistance when needed, believe me they can make your life and fasting much easier if they are understanding and cooperative.

That could be helpful even in months other than Ramadan.

May Allah bless you and ccept all your fasting, prayers and reading the Glorious Qur'an, Allah grant the reward to you that is proportional to your efforts and sacrifices

Should I not eat suhur?

Peace,

It is fine if you find pieces in your braces but ensure you do not eat the pieces of food on purpose. If you eat on purpose then your fast will break. Everything is based on intention..

No, you should have your suhur. Infact the blessings of Suhur are very high and you should not avoid it.

Peace

What is the best thing to eat for suhur during Ramadan?

Something not too heavy, and not too oily. Things such as dates, cereals, fruits/fruit salad, bread, and water (water is always important). These foods will not make your stomach feel sick or throw up.I also recommend you stay away from eggs (unless it’s boiled, otherwise it’s very oily), don’t eat dinner meals (such as rice with meat or chicken, fish, fries), and most importantly don’t eat desserts or drink coffee or tea. Though unless you have a very powerful stomach and you can handle all the oils, fat, and heavy meals then I say you can eat what you wish. But if you don’t have a powerful stomach then definitely stay away from all that I listed except the foods in the first sentence of my comment.

Can i fast without eating before fajar?

yes you can cause eating before fajar or what we call it suhoor is a tradition not a requirement for validity of fasting and the only reason of it is to strengthening the fasting person to be able to work And perform acts of worship So eating is permitted until the azan of fajr to strengthen self and help her to fast as allah Says : "و كلوا واشربوا حتى يتبين لكم الخيط الأبيض من الخيط الأسود من الفجر"

"And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn is separate from the black thread. "
so fasting without eating suhoor is alright , cause it's not a requirement for fasting .
and allah aalam ( allah only knows )
may allah blessed us and accept our fasting inshaallah .

During Ramadan can you take in medicine while fasting?

No you arent allowed to. You can do one thing. You can take your medicines after Iftaar one time, and after Suhoor Meal. If u have a 3 time a day course. Take a small dinner and u can take a medicine right after that!

And if you feel really sick, you can always make up for your fast or feed a poor person. But only if you are really sick. Otherwise, its obligatory on every Muslim.

If you miss Sahur (Suhoor), don't you fast once you're awake?

Having an intention to fast is very important in Fard fasts i.e. in the month of Ramadan, so since you did not make any intention that night before, even if you had missed suhoor, you couldn't have kept the fast. So for next time, remember that our intention has be made the night before for the next day fast. Or the correct way is to make intention at the start of Ramadan, and say Allah i intent to fast for the whole month of Ramadan. That way you make your intention just once but it is for all 29 or 30(depending on moon) days of fast. And that way if you miss suhoor, even than you can fast. Like when you wake up, you do not eat or drink anything and continue to fast.

Though realize that when you are keeping Nafil fasts, you can make your intention before noon of the day of the fast, as long as you haven't eaten or drank anything. I hope this helps.
