How can I get self-tanning lotions to work?

What is the best smelling self tanning cream/lotion?

There are some lotions on the market that are made specifically for tanning on beds. These are made to help you get a protected tan, with the fastest results that you can. The first thing you can do is talk to an educated tanning consultant to find out which lotion is the best for skin type. When you can find this, you will get a better tan than if you just pulled one off the shelf randomly. Since some lotions feature a tingly effect, you will want to buy from trusted sources only. There are many sellers that give you lotion for cheap because they are expired, watered down, or fake. Do your research first. These lotions often give you a bit of color as you apply them, and sometimes for a few hours after your tanning session. This will not last long however, and is just to help protect your tan and extend the life of it after you leave the booth. You will want to apply the lotion generously and evenly to all parts of your body. I would suggest that you don't try to use body tanners on your face. There are facial products that are made specifically for the skin on your face. Don't fret if you are slow to tan; many lotions start out slow but then give you longer lasting color.Odor is a big factor when buying tanning lotions. Many smell delicious but if you are sensitive to scents, then a lighter smelling one will do you better. Most Easiest DIY Homemade Tanning Lotions & Oils Recipes Check reviews for any lotion you are considering since many people will comment on the smell. You should be well aware that because the melanin in your skin is brought to the surface, to ensure a tan, you can often stink after your tanning session and might want to opt for a shower. While there are a few lotions on the market that mask this odor they are a bit more expensive.

Is Masterbating with sun-tan lotion dangerous?

You could get a urinary tract infection.

Can indoor tanning bronzer lotion work without even tanning? Just applying it to your skin?

Unless it is a self tanner, no. I don't believe that is a self tanner. If you want a natural looking tan the Jergens Natural Glow lotion is the best one. It gives you a natural looking color in about a week and they make a facial one too. It's about 9 dollars.
Otherwise you're gonna have to wait until the sun comes back out. The ingredients in those indoor tanning lotions only work because they're activated by the UV rays that the sun and tanning beds have. And just a tip: always tan outside between 12-4, when the sun is at its brightest and the UV rays are the strongest.

And when looking for self tanners, do not purchase ANY from Loreal. They look good at first but when you wake up the next morning you'll be orange and streaky. That's why I switched to Jergens. Hope I helped :)

What kind of Instant sun tanning lotion is best.?

I bought Jergans gradual tanning lotion as well as one made by Dove. They work okay, but not as good as i would like. Does anyone have any recommendations on some good tanning products and maybe some good tips on how to apply it.

Self tanning lotion covering stretch marks?

I heard that if the stretch marks are white, you can temporarily reduce visibility with self tanning products- NOT direct sun bathing, that can make them stick out more because the sun naturally does NOT tan stretch marks. But, if they are new and still red or purple.. I'm not sure if self tanning products can help that. It also depends on the quality of the tanning product you use. I heard of people who self tan and are successful at hiding their stretch marks..but If you've got raised or deep ones, I'm not sure if self tanner can hide that kind of texture, maybe just the color?.. but try out a bunch of products and see what works for you!

But from experience, the "sheer" self tanning products don't work well to hide white stretch marks and don't do much for texture, so maybe try something a little heavier like a cream or lotion, rather than a mousse. :)

Can you put tanning lotion on a tattoo?

yes you can put tanning lotion on it as long as its not fresh. let tatt heal for 2 weeks before putting anything other than healing creams on it.
an i would still recommend using a sunscreen when your tattoo is exposed to sunlight as self tanners do not contain spf.

TANNING! (in the sun and self tanners)?

i can't really explain how pale i am, i guess i'm just average-ish but i'm not in the sun too often. when i am in the sun for awhile, i can end up getting a somewhat noticeable tan though. i'm half hispanic, and someone told me that also makes me tan easily? i don't burn unless i go out there obviously without anything on (no sunblock, etc) so next week is spring break and i want to be able to get a base tan i guess, because winter was harsh and i turned to a ghost, but yes, a base tan, and be able to build with it or something, just for now, so that i can start wearing skirts/shorts and try to get darker.
so my questions to you are as follows! :
can i use a self tanner too, while i tan outside? what's a good one? that will NOT make me turn orange, and how do i apply it? and i want a lotion, not a spray :)
and what is a good tanning oil/lotion to use in the sun?
what attracts the sun, what makes you tan faster? (if it's possible)
and are there any other precautions i should take, and yes, yes i know, skin cancer and all that shenanigans, but what doesn't give you cancer these days...so please don't tell me that.
and anything else, like when i should go out, what i should do before i tan, what helps, etc.

thanks :)
