Survivor Challenge Courses

Who creates the challenges on Survivor?

There is a Challenge Producer that is in charge of them, but it is a team that brainstorms and builds them. Jeff answered this on Twitter a while back, he sometimes tweets during the episodes and answers questions for fans, and I remember that being a question he tweeted an answer to.

Was there a car challenge on survivor china?

Not to my recollection.

Fans voted James the fan favorite and won $100,000.
They just announced that Mark Burnett gave Denise $50,000 because she lost her lunch lady job.
So with all that going on, might be the reason for no new car given away.

What are the craziest Survivor challenges?

“Extreme swim challengeThis Fall's Extreme Swim Challenge is to swim the 981 miles to different cities along the Ohio River in the comfort of our pool! You can choose one of our three difficulties to help you make it there! The first 6 to finish in each category will win a t-shirt! Registration is $10. For more information and to sign up, be sure to visit the Extreme Swim Challenge Web page!”This is one of the craziest challenges I have ever seen. Swim 981 miles only to get a chance to win a t-shirt that too after paying registration fee of 10$. WTF!

On the show "Survivor", are the challenges fair?

I think women were made to endure pain. I.e. Child birth. To hold babies & run. While men are made strong to fight of predators & die. Women also have an extra layer of fat. This is also for child birth, but helps when starved. Muscles take more water & calories to maintaiN. the body breaks them down when starvinG. So the men are more fatigued by this point of the game. Endurance is about mind over pain, not just muscles. Also if they are taking in the same amount of calories (say 500 a day), that is going to do more for a 135lb woma, with moderate muscleS. Then a 185lb bulky man. Women also tend to do exercises that help prepare for such activitieS. While men tend to work on muscle mass.

What was the biggest challenge in making Lone Survivor?

War movies have been a mixed bag since they started making them, so it's always a challenge to get them right. The biggest challenge for filmmakers is that a lot of the time, the ideas in your head are very clear and make perfect sense, but it's not always easy to remove yourself from your own circumstances, or expect someone else to see things from your point of view. I feel like a lot of younger filmmakers get really frustrated by that. They're like, "This person is impeding my creativity," or "They just don't see it. They don't have vision." The ability to make other people buy into your vision is crucially important.  And if you don't have it yourself, then you have to surround yourself with people that can do it for you.

Out of The Challenge, Survivor, and Big Brother, which one is your favorite?

For me, it’s a toss up between Survivor and Big Brother. The drama involved in the Challenge is a little too much for me, but the competitions are some of the best as they’re more involved with danger such as heights and physicality.I say there’s a toss up between Big Brother and Survivor because I’ve watched the same amount of seasons for both series. This is primarily because of how different the two are. Big Brother shows contestants stuck in a house together, while Survivor shows contestants stuck on an island. Polar opposites, right? There is one thing that gives Survivor the slight edge: it’s not just for television. (IMO) They don’t have to do confessionals to make the game seem more fun like Big Brother does.

Who are the people in the explanatory videos of Survivor challenges?

They're members of the Survivor Dream Team: younger, entry-level crew members who work with the challenge and art departments. The show tests and rehease challenges without the contestants, to make sure the challenges work and to get camera angles and other details right before the challenge is run for real. The production films close-ups of some or all of the Dream Team running the challenge to use for illustration during the episodes. I've written about the Dream Team several times:http://www.realityblurred.com/re...http://www.realityblurred.com/re...http://www.realityblurred.com/re...
