Suspended Licence By Saaq

Can you drive for Uber with a suspended license?

Why are you even asking us this?  Uber requires a valid driver's license. A suspended license is just that, suspended. It is not a valid if you are driving for Uber it is suspended. Now I can't speak for where you live, but where I live, driving with a suspended license makes your car insurance null and void in the event of an accident. Are you willing to put yourself at risk financially by not being insured (I am sure that is another requirement by Uber)? If your license is currently suspended, you will need to come up with an alternate means of income.

Can I apply directly for a truck license in Quebec, Canada because I don’t have a car license?

Driving licences in Canada are issued by class of vehicle. Here’s the SAAQ web page for how it works in Quebec: Obtaining a Driver's Licence

How can an Ontario driver fight over a speeding ticket given in Quebec?

You have two choices:Pay the ticket (plus penalties if you have not replied within the prescribed time)If you really want to contest the ticket, check the box asking for trial and return the appropriate part of the ticket to Québec. Then appear in a Québec court on the appointed day.Québec has a reciprocal agreement with Ontario. If you do not act, the Ontario authorities will be notified and will act for Québec by collecting the fine (and any penalties). Ontario will also “award” you demerit points under Ontario law.6 points: Exceeding speed limit by 50 km/h or more4 points: Exceeding speed limit by 30 to 49 km/h3 points: Exceeding speed limit by 16 to 29 km/hIf the new points cause your total number of unexpired demerit points to equal or exceed 9, you will be called in for an interview and your licence may be suspended for 30 days. If you do not appear for the interview, your licence will be suspended indefinitely.Unless your situation is very unusual, you have a much better change of winning the jackpot in the 6/49 lottery than you have getting the ticket withdrawn. If by any chance you are a commercial truck driver, you also risk having problems with the Québec auto insurance board (Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec, SAAQ) or the Québec transport commission (Commission de transport du Québec, CTQ), which could result in revocation of your permit to transport goods on Québec roads.Do yourself a favour, bite the bullet and pay the ticket. You may still get points in Ontario. Your only real hope of winning in a Québec court is the slim possibility of having the offence lowered to another category, for which the number of demerits is lower than the category on the ticket. That could be useful if you already have a lot of unexpired points in Ontario.

Why is it that in Canada when a person is convicted of libel they are often fined tens of thousands, while for potentially deadly behavior such as speeding and drunk driving the fines are only a couple thousand?

A fine is for a code violation. A criminal offence can get you both a fine and/or jail time.A libel suit is a civil matter and a judge decides the amount you get depending on the damages sustained and what was asked. And its not a fine, its a settlement.ONLY Quebec and Manitoba have a pure NO-FAULT system. Which means that you cannot file civil suits for bodily harm or negligence. The only insurance you NEED to get in Quebec is to cover the OTHER side’s DAMAGE. Any civil damage is already paid for with your license plate. A government agency (the SAAQ) pays indemnities and rehab for victims AND the responsible party alike. The only penalty possible would be fines for code violation and possible imprisonment if criminal charges can be prosecuted. Like a man running his wife over. Because he did it with a car, NO civil suit would be possible (unless the vehicle is unregistered). But he’d still go to jail for murder. In other provinces its a mix of no-fault and tort laws.

What are the consequences for diving a motorcycle with a class 6A license, without an accompanying driver?

I'm in the wrong country to really know for sure. But it looks like driving without the accompanying driver is worth 4 demerit points, which means you lose the probationary license for 3 months for the first time offense. It doesn't look like there are fines to reinstate, just test and license fees.

The BIG penalties happen if your 6a is suspended, but you are caught driving anyway (they impound the bike for 30 days, plus at least a $600 fine and court fees).
