Swallowed Something Wrong And Now Have Unbearable Chest Pain Help

I have pain in my esophagus and chest when I swallow...?

On Monday, I was sampling a piece of pasta that ended up being very hot. Flustered, I swallowed it and felt it burn me all the way down. Now (Thursday) and ever since, I have had very painful swallowing. My esophagus seems to burn and I get a stabbing/tightness feeling in my chest. Also, every so often, I feel a sort of reflux and get the urge to burp even though I haven't eaten anything. Is this related to the hot food? Could I really have burned my insides, and if so, what can I do?

Or is this something else entirely and just coincidental that I burned myself on Monday? The pain is bearable, but it does make eating quite unpleasant.

Pain in stomach after swallowing gum?

Don't listen to David B swallowing gum once in a while is ok, but swallowing too much of it can cause a internal blocking which makes food harder to digest, 18 wads of gum is pretty damaging you should get checked out, for now you shouldn't eat to much or you'll have severe constipation. Some people think drinking fluids will help, but it doesn't it just gives the gum more moisture , dry gum is a lot easier to digest. Don't panic if you only swallowed 1-3 pieces of gum, the gum companies had to make the gum not that hazardous since the concern of accidentally swallowing gum is a very common thing. FUN FACT:did you know over 500million people in the world are chewing gum as we speak and about 300,000 of them just swallowed their gum.

Extreme Pain In Chest. Pain Swallowing And Breathing...?

There are a number of possibilities for what could be causing this such as due to a condition called Acid Reflux Disease but because of how intense the pain is I would recommend going to the Emergency Room for them to evaluate the situation further.

I swallowed a pill without drinking any water, and now my stomach hurts. please help!?

im supposed to take this pill twice a day. ive been taking it with water the whole time and i havent had this pain. but i thought that people only drank water so they can swallow the pill easier. i can easily swallow a pill, and i was in my room and i forgot the water in the kitchen and i got really lazy so i just swallowed it without water. i DID NOT know that i was gonna get this pain, but now i know and i want to know how to i get rid of this pain so that i can go to sleep right now.

My 4 year old swallowed a penny and it hurts when she eats...?

It's not uncommon for children to swallow money, but thank God she didn't choke on it. don't let people on here make you feel stupid. Have her eat a banana. The banana should surround the copper make it move through her system. Since it's causing pain, it sounds like it could be stuck. I swallowed a Lifesaver once and it was still large, and literally it caused me excruciating pain in the lower neck/chest region until it got small enough to move on down. Unfortunately, a penny isn't going to dissolve. I wouldn't let her stay in pain all night though, if half hour or so passes after trying a banana and she still feels it, I would take her to the ER. It wouldn't be the first time they saw this. They know exactly what to do.

When I drink water, I feel it through my chest. and small amount of pain after that. Is it normal?

You might be feeling it passing through your esophagus/gullet, in some cold water passing through could induce a slight of more severe cramp in the esophagus which is felt behind the breastbone, but not the whole chest. If it persists see a doc, personally if it was very troublesome I would perform an upper GI endoscopy to look at the insides of the esophagus to rule out an inflammation causing pain, e.g. due to reflux, but that would cause pain on swallowing food too, because that would be a treatable condition.
