Swansea Will Do A Number On Man United Next Week

What went wrong for Manchester United in the opening game of the Premier League against Swansea City?

Not much went wrong with Man Utd in their first game of the season. We are still adapting to a new system. It will take time to play with the new philosophy. The boss seems to have a vision in mind, and I think the team should not be judged on this performance. There's a long way to go in the season. This was just the opening game. We've had an injury crisis already, with no Evans, Luke Shaw, Van Persie, Valencia, Rafael, Carrick. That is a lot of first team players missing. So, we played with Blackett who seemed solid enough and Lingard who was good going forward, but he's not a natural right wing back. He's more of an attacking midfielder or right winger. But, it looked like he was trying to make things happen. Unfortunately he had to limp off and hopefully the injury isn't too bad. The introduction of Janujaz in his place ensured that the gameplay on that wing didn't dip and he was causing Taylor all sorts of problems, although he was a little worse than even Lingard while defending, but he was fantastic going forward.Playing with three at the back is always tricky, and it takes time to get it right. The boss feels that this is the right way moving forward with the players we currently have, so we should trust his instincts. Hopefully, we will be able to buy one or two more players and strengthen the midfield and center of defence and we should be better. Swansea were a well organised side with more or less the same players as last couple of seasons. We are a new side, and it will take some time for the players to gel and perform to their best level. Also, pre-season friendlies don't really matter once the season gets underway. We looked good in pre-season, but once the league game starts, it's a different ball game.

Can Swansea City play in the Premier League?

Yes they can.

When Swansea were formed in 1912 there was no Welsh league. Football was only popular in cities, rugby was the main sport.

So Swansea had to join the English leagues. When the League of Wales was formed in 1992 Swansea decided they'd be better off staying in the well-developed, Professional English league. It's better for the club and the league.

Swansea were the last non-English team to play in the top tier of English football. They had two seasons in England's old Division One at the start of the 80s.

If they go up, they'll be allowed to play in the Premier League.

Liverpool or Manchester United - which club is the biggest club in England of these two?

ding ding ding round 1 ^_^

lol

p.s - credit to Swansea City - i watched that 1 minute 38 second , 38 pass move, that was a joy to watch - i hope its now become a philosophy at the Liberty Stadium, Brendan Rodgers deserves the credit for promoting and encouraging this way of playing the game.

Obviously no where near the class of level of passing and movement that our great sides of the late 80s possessed but I doubt any team in England will ever attain that level of class again lol

But will it last at Swansea City ? Football is a big business these days - all that fancy prancy football means sh1t to the board if they're not picking up the points along the way - so I fear this won't last. I wish it does for the clubs sake, as it could potentialy grow and attract rich owners who want to promote their signature football and turn Swansea into a competitive big 4 club over night.

Right now all eyes on Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool - as they prepare to entertain The Potters at Anfield. Tony Pullis's side look to derail King Kenny's bid to do a domestic cup double and hope to knock them out of the FA Cup this afternoon ! ^_^

DId you know ?

* Swansea have now recorded their 12th Premier League clean sheet. Only the two Manchester clubs (13) can better that tally this season.

* Swansea, riding high on confidence since toppling Manchester City, became only the fourth side to win at Fulham this season.

* Fulham have not been starved of the ball this way by any visiting side this season (my own view)

Liverpool v Stoke - PREDICTIONS ?
