Swelling On Left Side Of Neck Jaw Causes

I have a lump in my neck right under my jaw causing facial swelling and minimal pain, what could it be?

It might very well be a swollen salivary glands, these can harbor cancer, so see a doc, only timely surgery can cure such a cancer. Salivary glands can become infected, of blocked due to salivary stones, see Salivary Gland Problems: Infections, Swelling, and TreatmentOf course severely swollen lymph nodes (if that large almost certainly cancerous) needs medicalattention too, since malignant lymphomas can be well treatedLymph glands can be swollen in e.g. Mononucleosis infections.

Can being punch in the jaw cause swelling to a lymph node?

I fight in mma and today I was sparring with a friend of mine when I got caught on the chin pretty good. When he hit me on the chin it felt like something around my throat area popped, like a knuckle cracking or something like that, it wasn't a loud pop though. Now my lymph node is swelling and its pretty painful. What do you think might of happened?

What could cause pain that starts under the chin on left side of neck and goes up to ear and becomes headache?

you might have a clogged salivary gland.
A simple solution is biting into a lemon or something extremely sour. It will cause your salivary glands to flood and this sometimes removes the little crystal that has formed there. If clogged long enough you can form a crystal in there that will have to be removed by surgery as it becomes to large to exit through the opening there. It is almost like a kidney stone.
Try the lemon first and maybe a couple times to see if that helps.

What causes the left side of my neck to be swollen?

The glands on either side of the neck, under the jaw, or behind the ears commonly swell when you have a cold or sore throat. Glands can also swell following an injury, such as a cut or bite, near the gland or when a tumor or infection occurs in the mouth, head, or neck.Lymph nodes become swollen in response to illness, infection, or stress. Swollen lymph nodes are one sign that your lymphatic system is working to rid your body of the responsible agents. Swollen lymph glands in the head and neck are normally caused by illnesses such as ear infections.Throat infections, like tonsillitis, will cause the glands in your neck to swell. Some infections, such as glandular fever, cause all the glands in your body to swell, so you may feel glands in your armpits, groins and neck. Much less commonly, swollen glands can be caused by cancer. Do not worry, it is rare.See your doctor if you're concerned or if your swollen lymph nodes:Have appeared for no apparent reason.Continue to enlarge or have been present for two to four weeks.Feel hard or rubbery, or don't move when you push on them. Are accompanied by persistent fever, night sweats or unexplained weight loss.I hope my answer to this helps. :)

What causes pain below my jaw on the right side? Could it be Hodgkin’s Disease? Its swollen under my jaw, on the right side, on top of the neck (compared to my left side). I dont have a flu/cough or any other symptoms and I'm putting on weight!

You should see a doctor and be examined.I can't put your mind at rest based on what you've said, but I can say that two common causes of what we doctors would call "submandibular swelling" are stones in the submandibular gland and tooth decay leading to an abscess. Both are statistically roughly twice as common as Hodgkins  which is about 30 cases per million people per annum.People with cancer of all forms typically lose weight, although there are always exceptions, and yes, some people with Hodgkins do gain weight. 1/2 the adult population manages to gain weight and does not have Hodgkin's disease so you can't make too much of that in isolation. The most common lymph node site affected by Hodgkin's disease is in the neck, however, Hodgkin's disease can also cause swelling of the groin or nodes of the underarm but these swellings are usually not painful and can feel rubbery. Like most cancers Hodgkin's disease can also cause fevers, night sweats, weight loss, and even generalized itching. Hodgkin's disease may cause lymph nodes in the chest to swell, which can't be seen or felt, but can cause symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, or chest pain. Interestingly, some people with Hodgkin's disease will note pain in the lymph nodes after minimal alcohol consumption which appears to be something you've noticed. Please get a checkup ASAP.

Can TMJ cause swollen node in neck?

Hi there! Well, I have TMJ, and I also have a swollen node (although mine is on the right side, behind the lobe & I have TMJ on both sides of the jaw). I'm not sure that this is related to TMJ. Do you wear earrings or maybe just one earring on that side? When I had the swollen node examined by a doctor at a regular checkup, she suggested I take out my earrings and wait for a couple of weeks to see if the swelling went down. It DID go down considerably. Apparently I am allergic to the metal in earrings and this is misinterpreted as an infection, causing the lymph nodes to swell, though it caused no noticeable irritation in my ear itself. Also, do you have any cavities? This, too, can cause swollen lymph nodes on the side of the cavity, especially if it has reached root. Because TMJ isn't an infection of any kind, I don't believe it would cause swelling of the node. If it is benign, though, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just take a good hard look at your face and the surrounding area. Any cuts, piercings, or cavities? Any of these things could be the cause. My lymph nodes also react violently to dying my hair, and stay swollen for months. Good luck!

Can a buildup of earwax cause swollen lymph nodes in the neck?

No. When earwax builds up you might feel a sense of pressure in your ear or not hear as well.Swollen lymph nodes usually mean you’re fighting off an infection, but sometimes they swell for no reason anyone can figure out. Within a few days they will go down or you’ll get sick. If they persist, go see a doctor. If you have the feeling of clogged ears and swollen lymph nodes, you might have clogged Eustachian tubes from an upper respiratory infection, such as a cold. (I just got over a clogged Eustachian tube. It took a long time to clear but it wasn’t very painful.)Lymphadenopathy - WikipediaEarwax - Wikipedia

Can popping a pimple on your neck cause swollen glands?

No, it can't.

Assuming you do it correctly (ie, lancing it with needle), bursting a boil will not increase the levels of bacteria in your system (which would cause your glands to swell).

It'd actually reduce the swelling, if there was any swelling.

However, going to a doctor is the best solution. More then likely he'll lance it himself. While a bit painful, the infection can weep, which will reduce swelling and redness.

Also, don't listen to people who say stuff like "take dandelion root". Listen to people who have degrees in biology or their PhD in medicine. :P A couple old wives tales that aren't true are listed below...

Go outside without a sweater and you'll get a cold.
Pimples are caused by eating lots of sweets.
