Switching My Daughters School

Will switching to a virtual school for junior year affect our daughter's college acceptance opportunities?

Such a change would almost certainly have a negative impact. A good reason to continue at a regular high school is because college counseling departments at high schools have relationships with college admissions offices. Furthermore, colleges care about extracurricular activities, sports, recommendation letters, etc. which all become considerably harder outside of the traditional setting.

My daughter wants to become a witch?

Should I switch her out of public school? I think it's corrupting her. Is private school the answer.

Also, the Bible teaches us in Exodus 22:18 "thou shalt Not suffer a witch to live". I dont want my daughter to die. what should I do?

I'm changing my daughter's school. Which school should I try to get her an admission in?

its depends you are in which city and how much you can pay for education of your kid. you should definitely look for a school closer to your house (within 8–10 kms). There are couple of sites using which you can find out of schools in your area and know about reviews of those schools. When you switch schools in the same state do your grades stay the same?

Your transcripts will transfer but you will start out with no grade until you actually do some work and get a score for it. The teacher will pro-rate your grade so you are at the same level as the other students who have been in the class since the beginning.

Is it stupid to switch from a private school to a public school?

A couple of things are going on here.  First, are your parents willing to change your school if you come up with some good reasons? If so, then let them know that school rankings are just rankings over all because it's what you achieve, not what the school achieves that matters most.  Secondly, most American high schools, even those ranked 1,500 have AP (advanced placement) classes which the high achieving children take over those who have yet to know their and their parents college/university desires.  Many children and parents have also come to realize that if you're an A student in a large urban high school your chances are quite high in for getting into the college/university of your choice over a school where every child is an A student. And lastly, I had to face something similar to your predicament with my own daughter only it was as she entered into her second year of college rather than in high school.  From high school she had applied, received admission and attended for one year and one quarter the #1 ranked public University in California for Architecture (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo). In her first quarter of her second year, and even though she enjoyed the curriculum and was on the dean's honor list, she told me she was depressed and did not want to stay at this school, she wanted to return to the Bay Area attend the local community college where she could eventually transfer to UC Berkeley in Architecture which in 2006 was ranked under Cal Poly for Architecture.  In California, it's very difficult, if not impossible to transfer from one top notch public university to another, and much easier to transfer from a community college to a university instead.  After four years taking two semester courses per year at a local community college and working in an architectural firm for 25 hours a week, she transferred with  honors to UC Berkeley and two years later from UC Berkeley with honors and a job with a top notch architectural firm in San Francisco.  All that said, as much as your high school is ranked #12 it's not doing you any good if you're depressed while going there.

Can I shift my daughter from CBSE to ICSE international school in 9th standard?

If you compare portion wise ICSE is more . Actually it is a 2 years course .You study for your boards in 9th and 10th . Quality wise ICSE is good in some topics but if you compare topics like probability etc with CBSE ICSE is much simpler As CBSE aims for quality work ICSE depends on quantityWell if daughter is interested in reading novels you might have heard that Harry Potter TinTin are part of syllabus now . AS AN ICSE STUDENT I PREFER ICSEAll the bestPS:ICSE isn't international its a common misconception it stands for Indian Council of Secondary Education whereas on the other hand IB is international

My teenage daughter hates her high school and wants to transfer?

My 14-year-old daughter is a freshman in high school, and is having a really hard time adjusting. She is an honors student, who had a varied and supportive group of friends in middle school. She has recently started exhibiting troubling behavior, such as skipping school, sneaking out of the house, drinking alcohol, smoking, lying about grades, etc. Her grades are slipping, and she says she hates her high school, because the students are snobby and materialistic, and only care about who's wearing what. We are considering changing schools, but are wondering if it may actually help, given how brutal the whole high school "experience" can be. I will admit that I have heard similar comments about her high school, and have witnessed first-hand how pretentious the students are.
