Sword Art Online Dvd Questions

Sword art online season 2!?

The Season 2 was already finished. For your information guys, the ALO arc IS the Season 2 (It's aired during the Fall Season. Season 1 was during the Summer Season).
Maybe what you are asking for is the season 3.
There are no announcements yet for the Season 3 of Sword Art Online.
I found a site that lists the anime that are already confirmed that are either to be aired on Japanese televison or sold as anime DVD/Blu-Ray. You can find the link in my sources. Sword Art Online is not listed in there. Maybe not yet. I can't tell.
There are also no announcements yet in the official twitter page of its anime but a post says お楽しみに which probably means to look out forward to something. This might be a hint that another season will be in production but I can't confirm it.
Also, there are no announcements in their website.
.
@Jordan Vernon Overfly is the ending theme song of the 2nd Season of SAO (the ALO arc). Also, the date in the website where you got that says 2012-08-25 (August 25, 2012)

Why do people hate Sword Art Online?

Many people hate SAO for a variety of reasons:Main characterThe main protagonist, Kirito is an extremely bland character. He essentially has a near perfect life. Any challenges are easily overcome.Kirito has no negative attributes.Supporting characters:There are no point to any one of these characters. You can remove most of them from the story, and it would probably not change significantly.Further, characters such as Yui is a walking Deus Ex Machina. These character have no personality, no defining traits.Ridiculous games:That unmemorable FPS game from SAO was ridiculous:You couldn’t customize the bost basic details of your character. The character models are given to you by default and you cannot change them. The shooting accuracy depends on your heart rate and how calm you are.In an MMO Game:There was no magicKirito was able to beat paralysis due to his determination. Are you sure Kirito and Asuna were the only people who were happy in SAO when Yui found them. Like a lot of time had passed, and I’m sure some people simply got used to life, and adapted to living inside a videogame.Lack of ranged weaponsKirito was able to play all by himself without facing any trouble, whereas dozens of others needed to be in a group to survive.Villians:Death Gun:He was mad that his character was underpowered, but when I watched his character, it was overpowered.Kayaba AkihiboHe trapped 10,000 players for no reason. Then there is this guy: Nobuyuki SugouHe’s infamous for doing this:This is really weird and is essentially pointless.I think what is most frustrating about this show is that it had a lot of promise and the show looked decent within the first few episodes setting an eerie atmosphere, constantly reminding the viewers how easily the protagonist can die. However, the show lost most of its appeal when we realized the protagonists were not going to die.On a side note:The only good character in SAO is this guy:He’s the only half-way decent character; in fact, his presence in the show feels so out of place in this terrible show.

Will Sword Art Online be cheaper in the future?

I suppose it's possible, but I wouldn't count too much on it.

It's published by Aniplex of America, and they don't really have a track record of lowering their prices.
But they are relatively new to the US DVD market, so I suppose that could change eventually.

The reason the prices are so high is that Aniplex doesn't quite understand the US DVD market. In Japan, it's normal for anime DVDs/Blu-rays, come with tons of extras but cost about $70 for just 2 episodes.

And it wasn't that long ago that most anime was released similarly in the US, but most companies eventually realized that cheaper DVDs with more episodes and minimal extras were more popular.

So, there's always the chance that Aniplex might evolve similarly, and release a cheaper edition. But that might take a while, or it might not happen at all...

On the bright side, Rightstuf still has a few days left in their 12 Days of Anime sale...so I'd keep an eye on that just in case.

Will Sword Art Online 2 come to Netflix dubbed?

I loved Sword Art Online. It was really the first anime I really got into, and I was ecstatic to see that SAO 2 was out on Netflix also. I went to play it, but I couldn't put it in English. I think that the subtitles can be distracting and take away from the overall experience. Is it going to come to Netflix dubbed, or will it be stuck in Japanese?

Why are the Sword Art Online Blu-rays so expensive?

Because it's being released by Aniplex, who does not quite understand the USA DVD/Blu-ray market.

In Japan, anime DVDs/Blu-Rays are generally released with about 2 episodes per disc for about $50-$70.

But they tend to come with a ton of extra collectible goodies which somewhat sorta justify the outrageous costs.

And in the US, they used to release anime DVDs somewhat similarly. $30 for 4 episodes was about average, and plenty of series were released with art boxes and CDs and booklets and whatever else.

In more recent years, they've switched to releasing anime like most other TV shows - in bare-bones sets with a lot of episodes for a low cost.

Now, Aniplex has come along, and they're back to releasing sets with all the collector's goodies, at a price that would actually be pretty great in Japan:

Contains episodes 1-7 plus original soundtrack CD 1, a 16-page deluxe booklet, illustration pin-ups, and an exclusive collectible card, all housed in a rigid box illustrated by abec (Original Character Design).

So it's resulted in those that missed collector's sets to rejoice, and those that just wanted the show and are used to something closer to Funimation's pricing to weep.

I'm afraid there's no cheaper way to aquire them at the moment. You could wait and hope that rightstuf has a coupon or includes SAO in the 12 Days of Anime sale in December.

When will season 2 of Sword Art Online be on Netflix?

I am really excited for watching season 2 but my phone doesn't work with any of the websites. The only thing I can watch it from is Netflix, so does anyone know when it's coming on Netflix? Thank you if you answered. :)
