Tail Bone Injury What To Do

Can you go blind from injuring your tailbone?

If she had a spinal injury, it might have caused an infection that spread completely up her spine into her brain--and that may have caused her blindness. So even though the two areas are a good distance apart, it's POSSIBLE--but not very LIKELY. However--here's the thing--when she fell, she may have injured her CERVICAL spine--in the neck area--and that certainly could have caused blindness. She may have had TWO injuries--one on either end of the spine. And when the spine is injured, there are all sorts of complications. A fall can do all sorts of damage--especially when someone ice skates.

And yes, you can go blind for two years, then regain your sight.

it's hard to tell if this teacher is really telling the truth, or only the truth as SHE knows it. There's a difference. And without her medical documentation, you won't be able to tell.

What things not to do when you have a Tailbone injury?

Imagine that you have a fox like tail. It is better to avoid to sit over own such beautiful tail. Imagine yourself as tiger/tigress for 12 weeks. Tail rest's fancy name is gel donut as we have no tail. Basically follow the methods of sitting by any animal who has tail to avoid sitting over tail. Sit sidewise over side of buttock, thigh and leg. It is possible to sit in that way in a chair which has handle. Avoid passing the weight through your tail.  What posture will give pain to tail, you'll avoid it. Physiotherapist wrote the most & there is nothing more to add.

What should I do about an untreated tailbone injury?

I'm wondering if I should go to see a doctor for a long time stewing untreated tailbone injury. The history behind this injury is when I was younger, a few years ago I was rough housing with my brother and he picked ,e up and dropped me right on my tailbone. I had the breath knocked out of me and I couldn't get up and had barely any feeling in my legs for about a half an hour. Feeling and strength very slowly came back after that within an hour but I was very sore after that and a bit wobbly. I didn't go to any doctor because my parents and siblings didn't believe me and kind of just watched me writhe on the floor for a bit. I actually had to crawl to the living room before anyone would help me to my feet and they still insisted I was faking for attention.

Got a bit off topic but anyways it's years later and I have severe lower back pain off and on, also when I do certain things like lay down wrong. Since then I've also experienced very regular constipation which is something I'd never had before then.

I was just having an onset of symptoms and it got me thinking if it was too late to go see a doctor to see if there is any real lasting damage.

How do I get rid of tailbone fracture? What should I do?

In a Coccyx fracture, the goal is to manage pain until the bone can heal. The location of the coccyx and the number of muscles attached to it makes it difficult to prevent it from moving while it is healing. Bed rest may be needed for a day or two, or moving only as comfort allows and pain will often go away on its own. Surgery for a painful coccyx fracture is rare and not very successful. If pain continues and causes disability, a coccygectomy might be recommended. Please consult a physician or specialist.

I think I may have injured my tailbone, Ice Skating?!?

If a qualified doctor or nurse says it's not broken, it's not broken. Also, if you can walk and sit and move, it's definitely not broken. If it was broken, you'd be stuck in one position, crying in pain, and you would have called an ambulance by now.

You probably just have a bruise. Happens to everyone, even elite skaters. Put some ice on it, and give it a few days to heal. It'll feel fine in a couple of days. I've had many, many bruises on my tailbone, and they really hurt at first, but with ice and some uber expensivee bruise cream (which I don't know the name of, or I'd recommend it. But you can put polysporin on it as well), it feels fine quite quickly.

There's no shame in crying if you've fallen and it hurts. Even elite skaters cry sometimes. Even when it doesn't hurt, sometimes the shock, or just a stress build up, or just about anything could make you feel like crying. There's no need to try and make excuses. As long as you don't make a bigger deal about it than it is (one girl at my old club fell very lightly - she slid across the ice - and started bawling claiming she had broken her wrist. She made her parents take her to the hospital, wait in Emergency for three hours, only to find out that she hadn't even bruised it. She did things like that a lot) then there's nothing wrong with crying.

Again, Ice, Rest, and try not to fall over again. Just relax.

I might have a broken tailbone what should i do?

You really need to get a x-ray to see if it is broken or just bruised. An injured tailbone needs time to heal. A bruised tailbone may take several days to several weeks to completely heal. A fractured tailbone takes 4 to 6 weeks to heal. In either case, people sometimes have pain for a long time.
While your tailbone injury is healing it is very important to use a doughnut cushion when you are sitting. A doughnut cushion may be purchased at a medical supply house or you may use a child's swimming inner tube.
You should place an ice pack on your tailbone for 20 to 30 minutes every 3 to 4 hours for 2 to 3 days or until the pain goes away. Your health care provider may prescribe an anti-inflammatory or pain medicines.
It is important to avoid constipation while your tailbone is healing. Drink plenty of fluids and increase the amount of fiber in your diet.

Is it possible for a tailbone injury to throw of your period?

It could, any trauma, physical or psychological could cause a delay. But, you know better, it is possible. You have to just wait and see. Yes, I know that's a pain, but a 3-day delay isn't long enough to be concerned - if you haven't started in another week to 11 days(two weeks), then get a home pregnancy test.
