Taking Time Of School

School takes up too much of my time!?

I'm in my second last year of school and it's getting ridiculously. My daily schedule looks like this;
Wake at 8 go to school by 9,
School till 4,
1 hour to eat dinner get changed etc,
Homework from 5 to 8 with little breaks and sorting books for the morning etc
1 hour to relax before bed
Repeat

That one hour usually ends up being 3 so I go to bed too tired for the next day.
I want to have time to read books, play guitar and just generally not be doing work!
That does not include my study which we should be going 3 1/2 hours of between school (free classes) and at home!

What can I do?

First time doing acid at school?

I wouldn't take acid on a school day, maybe save it for a weekend when you can just relax and do whatever you like. You'll be out of your box - completely off your face. School puts restraints on you, and you don't want that when you're tripping.

That's just my advice. If you do take acid at school, you'll have a messy few hours.

Do you regret taking time off before returning to school?

Not at all.I took two gap years between high school and college. While it’s weird being younger than my fellow freshman, I feel that my gap year is the reason I can focus so well in school. When you’re fresh out of high school, you wonder about the world around you. About the work force and what it’s like to make your own money. About what it feels like to sustain yourself and be completely responsible for your well being. You wonder “what you want to be when you grow up,” but without actively figuring it out, you’re left only to assume based on your interests and skills. When you get to college, you probably don’t have definite answers to these questions. Because of this, they distract you while you’re in school. Are you where you’re supposed to be? Are you studying the right subjects? Is the diploma really worth it?You have no idea. But I, on the other hand, do.During my gap years, I worked, I sustained myself, and I had to solve my own personal problems. I got a taste of adult life and some of the hard realities that come along with it: when you’re sick, you have to take care of yourself. If you really want to buy something, you work and you save up for it. If you don’t take care of the things you’re responsible for, they won’t last. If you don’t have a diploma, there are many jobs you can’t get. Many parts of college are just extended childhood. Everyone is looking out for you. You probably have some financial resources so you don’t have to worry about working full time to pay your rent and bills. You do your homework and then you’re free to do what you want. But if you haven’t tasted real adulthood, you can easily mistake your new found freedom for it. And that’s when you start wondering: what’s on the outside? When you don’t know, the possibilities distract you and you have no evidential reason for motivating yourself to do a good job in school. What results is a student who procrastinates, half-asses work, and doesn’t take the process seriously.I know what I risk if I fail, and I know the potential gains that come with doing well. I’m not curious about what life on the outside is like because I’ve lived it. And I don’t doubt my career choice because I’ve put years of thought and practice into it. Because of this, I don’t procrastinate. I love school because I had the chance to miss is. My degree means something to me, which makes me work as hard as I can for it.

What makes it so hard to go back to school after taking time off?

I think that’s not ‘truth.’Some people dread going back to school.Just like some people dread going back to work after they’ve been on vacation. It’s an attitude. It’s just a matter of getting back into the groove. And looking forward to the lifelong benefits.Start planning now and consider yourself fortunate that you have the option of going back to school…many do not.

How do I manage time between school and coaching classes? There will be a lot of homework for both! I need to take out enough of time for self-study also!

Coaching classes after school takes lot of your time leaving you exhausted and very less time for self study. In order to manage your time properly, you need to have a proper study plan.In my case, I used to devote morning study time before your school for Self Study(Revising and taking up any new topic). After then I would attend school (In case, I am having test next day then I would avoid that) and then go for coaching. I never missed my coaching because of school. But in case of extreme emergency you can do that. After coaching and dinner(and other such formalities), I used to devote my rest of the time in solving the sheets and modules of Catalyser and completing the assignments. If you are wasting time in front of TV or using internet for entertainment then it is waste of time. Please Avoid that.P.S :Set regular targets, and make sure you complete them by the end of the day.All the Best :)

Taking anatomy and physiology a 3rd time for nursing school pre req's?

Hi I am in the NY area and wanted to know has anyone ever repeated any A&P classes and got into NS? I have to take A&P a 3rd time. The 1st time I got a C, but I had just had my son in the same semester and was tired as hell, along with other drama in my life, and was in the Army. 2nd go...got a D, I took a 4 week accelerated course while working 40 hr/wk (big mistake I know).....So now Im going for an A and aside from the fact that all this stuff was going on, I still need to improve my study habits and started thinking realistically about myself, I am going at this full throttle this time and not stopping.

Now that the drama is out my life and im out the Army, I am ready to focus. But the only thing is repeating classes like this frowned upon? Even if I explain my situations? I mean it involves court- child support and custody and dealing with lawyers and all that other drama from the ex really made it hard...and im only 25!!!! But no more excuses!!! I wont give up, this is my dream...

Will this be frowned upon in NY schools because I am taking it a 3rd time?? Gonna try my best to get an A

I have a B+ in AP2 and a C+ in Micro with a 2.8 GPA

Can there be room for time off after graduating law school?

If you plan on practicing law then taking time off immediately after graduating law school may not be a great idea. For example if you plan on writing the bar exam you are advised to do so right after graduating from law school so that you will have retained some of the knowledge that you presumably learned while in class. If you take time off and write the exam later, you may have forgotten a lot of the relevant material. Also, if you have accepted an offer to work at a law firm prior to graduation they will typically require you to start work soon after graduating and passing the bar. If you are not employed, and then you later apply for a job at a law firm after taking some time off, they are going to ask what you did during that time and why you did not start work right away. Moreover, if you need to pay off your law school loans, you will typically need to start work as soon as possible to begin paying off the principal. So, long story short, unless you have a very good reason to do so, it’s not advised to take significant time off after graduating law school.

Can you take time off school for depression?

Franky, ain't going to work. They will medicate you and send you to counseling. Plus you used that excuse before.

This was the first day of school for crying out loud.

My nephew your age had 9:30 for a bed time. However, he got up unlike you. His sister 2 years older had 10 when she was a junior, but the girl was up every morning at 6:15 taking a shower and doing her hair . She also did non-homework schoolwork early in the morning ( like projects) or use the treadmill Her brother was suppose to have the bathroom they shared by 6:45. If you get up then he might let you have a later bedtime.

Hey, you get home before the K-5 kids on our street. they get picked up at 7:45-7:50 and get home this year not before 4:30 Grades 6-12 get picked up around 6:30- and aren't home before 3:15. It get worse on bad weather dates.

Edit: I suggest you get a new campaign, because this one is not working. The depressed teenager is so blase`. One that might have much effectiveness is faking enthusiasm, not sarcastic enthusiasm , but truly genuine enthusiasm even if it just that it is taco Tuesday or you are learning something that interests you in one class. Then do it for three weeks to see if it brings about a new attitude .It will make life easier with your parents.

Because the depressed teenager thing , trust me on this, WILL make your life miserable. Your Dad is so game on for it so the consequences for pulling it will not be pleasant. Same with the fighting him on establishing a reasonable sleep schedule with the amount you need.

Franky, without getting into the whole story, I haven.t been sleeping well for years and years. Not doing so has mostly likely added to my chronic medical conditions. I wasn't getting enough sleep so I got medical help for it. Three weeks, and I feel like I can tackle the world when I wake up in the morning. No more foggy brain like the guy stumbling around the kitchen before work saying " time to make the donuts" ( an old Dunkin Donuts ad) because I am now getting air I have been missing and don't wake up so much gasping for air. For older adults like me you need 7 hours sleep. It is more for adolescents since you are growing. Unfortunately the schools don't schedule the time for the time kids function best. I know from people who work nights they have trouble the rest of their lives sleeping because things get messed up. Kids who stay up too late get that, too.
