Target Team Member Provide My Own Attire

What all does a food service team member do at target?

You'd prepare the food they sell at the snack bar in Target. Popcorn, hot dogs, pizza, drinks, etc.
and you'd check the customers out. They don't have the same registers your grandparents had.
If you are out of jr high you shouldn't have a problem. The register tells you how much change to give.

Target sales floor team member?

Keep the shelves stocked in your department.

Help customers to find products they are searching for.

Know a little bit about how the products work. They don't expect you to know everything about a blender in the housewares department but they would like you to explain when a customer should buy a bigger blender rather than buy one that is too small and later return it.

You assist other employees when they need a hand. It might take 2 people to lift a bicycle onto a hook.

You make suggestions to improve the store.

You make sure that every item is clearly priced.

Tell them that you are willing to learn how to work the cash register. That is a big help to the manager if someone calls in sick.

What are the job responsibilities of a softlines team member at Target?

Softlines deals with boys, girls, and infants clothing, shoes, intimates, accessories, and infant supplies. You basically just have to go around these departments and organize, you'll spend a lot of your day folding clothes. You'll have to deal with "go backs", which is just picking up items where they don't belong and put them back where they belong. You're expected to be knowledgable in the merchandise in these departments so you can help customers efficiently. If you're working til close you're not allowed to leave until everything looks presentable for the next morning. Target closes at 10:00 and I didn't get out of there until almost 12 last night lol. It's not a hard job at all, you're just on your feet all day and it can get tiring. Good luck! :)

What do they ask you in the Target Interview?

I've been interviewed there recently. Many things changed when compared to situation in 2011.
You'll get many behavioral questions, such as:

This job is repetitive. What would motivate you to do it well every day?
Tell us about a time that you made a mistake and what you did to fix the mistake?
When have you gone out of your way to help somebody?
What would you do if you rang an item up to be 20$ but a customer insisted it was 18$?
Describe a time you have to work under stress. What was the outcome?
Give me an example when you exceeded someone's expectation. What was the outcome?
If another co-worker were gossiping about someone else something which is untrue, how would you react?
If a customer accused you of a bad customer service, what would you do?
If a supervisor asks you to change the way your job is performed even though you know you were doing it right, what would you do?
Explain a time when you were busy and needed to prioritize the tasks ahead of you.
Describe a time when you have effectively resolved another person's request. What was the situation and what kinds of information did you gather to help in resolving this request?

Was easy for me, cause I had the book of answers to these questions. But I saw most of the applicants struggled badly...

Interview help for Target; its my first job interview!!!?

Wear a nice of pants and a good shirt and something other than running shoes. No jeans or t-shirts. Just relax, show some enthusiasm for the job but don't talk their head off. They will ask some questions to determine why you want to work at Target and what you will bring to the sales floor. It's all right to let them know this would be your first job outside of having your own mowing business and that you think working for Target would be a great opportunity. By having your own mowing business you show you have initiative and are willing to do what needs to be done. It's a retail business so make sure you let them know that you are willing to be flexible. Retail stores are not a 9 to 5 job. Listen to what they have to say and answer their questions. Smile and be friendly. You will do fine.

Well at my school you just did it in your PE kit, so white shirt, navy shorts and trainers. That was pretty much it. Also a tip we used was ask the fat kid if he wants to play if he says no, ask if you can hide behind him and use him as a shield, then once he's out throw the ball from behind him at the kid who's just thrown his at the fat guy. Win-win for both of you. P.S the fat dude was my friend we weren't bullying him. he knew his size made him an easy target and the easiest to hit.

What should I wear to a Target job interview in the middle of winter?

Your attire needs to be appropriate for the job. This would be easier to answer if I knew what type of interview it is. Office jobs require moderate and comfortable dresses and sensible shoes. Outside work requires durable and warm wear. Employers will, most likely, hire someone who reflects their own "look". Is it a high-class office? Is it a grade school receptionist? Is it a clerk in a store? Is it a waitress job? You need to go into the interview already looking the part.
Above all, dress moderately. You want to look industrious and hardworking. Drawing attention to physical features may attract boys; but, it will most likely, put an employer off. And, if you were my daughter, I wouldn't want you to work for an adult who is attracted to you, in the first place.
And, go light on the make-up. You're young and probably don't need it, anyway.

What to expect for the first day of work at target? do i have to wear the uniform? is there an orientation?

Joe is pretty much right...you'll have to wear red and khaki, but you'll spend two to five hours in the conference room going over rules, safety, and other standard info. At the end they usually take you on a tour of the store and show you the stockroom and stuff. It would definitely be a good idea to bring a check for direct deposite, and your social security card and drivers license are required for orientation. Don't expect to be physically worn out, just bored as hell.

In the next couple of days you'll learn basic things: how to use a PDA, how to use the radios, how to act towards guests ("can I help you find something?"), and where everything is located. If you're doing flow team (morning stocking), you usually won't ever get cashier training. Salesfloor, or most everything else, will have you learn to cashier within the first couple shifts.

Corporate type person answer: Today I wore jeans, a odd red color shirt with a logo so worn I honestly don't know where it's from anymore, a gray Spyder jacket, and a hat. Switch the shirt and that's my typical day. Director doesn't have an issue with it, Chief of my depth doesn't have an issue with it (he knows me and knows what I wear daily), no one cares. As long as you don't wear shorts and open shoes, it's not usually a big deal. This is from someone who works in the engineering side, marketing or design may have requirements.
