Tattoo Aftercare Help

Neck Tattoo aftercare?

1.Remove bandage after 2 hours (do not rebandage)
2.Wash tattoo with your hand (make sure hand is clean) using warm, soapy water. Rinse with cold water. Don't over soak your tattoo. Keep out of the direct spray of the shower. Pat dry, DO NOT rub with towel.
3.For 3 to 5 days or until tattoo is healed, apply Vitamin A&D Ointment or Bacitracin or Zinc Oxide Ointment 3 to 4 times daily after washing tattoo. Keep tattoo moist. If allergic to these ointments, use a water based lotion such as Curel.
4.Tattoo will flake. DO NOT pick at the flakes or you may pull the color out. Try not to let clothing rub on your tattoo while it is healing.
5.NO swimming or suntanning until healed. Apply a high SPF sunblock to tattoo after healed to prevent fading.

Tattoo aftercare? (pls help)?

Do not use anything petroleum based! The best thing for tattoo aftercare is a product called Aquaphor. It's about $8.00 at any pharmacy, Safeway, Walgreen's, etc. Yes, tattoo goo works well and REALLY helps with colored tats but you have to get that from a tattoo shop. Do not soak it. Just keep it moisturized so it doesn't split or crack. Not too much and not too little. And you only do this for about a week.

Foot tattoo aftercare...?

You should lightly wash your new tattoo twice a day. You said you got tattoo goo? Is it the lotion or the paste? I like the paste tattoo goo, with that there doesn't seem to be much else you need. Dial anti bacterial soap in liquid is just fine. Apply the tattoo goo 4 or more times a day just enough to get the tattoo moist. If it is shinny, you've put too much on and you need to blot it off with a paper towel (nothing that will leave lint). Try not to wear your shoe all through the healing process. The more air it gets the better. Air is your #1 healer. If you have any more questions contact me through my profile. I'll be happy to help any way I can.

Tattoo aftercare: A&D ointment ok?

This is my second tattoo. My first tattoo I used nothing but Tattoo Goo and the color faded like crazy! For this tattoo I went to another artist and all he said was " A&D Ointment all day along. Don't let it get dry." I washed it when I got home but he didnt say I needed to wash it more. It's day 3 and looks ok so far. Any of you used A&D for tatoo care? How much? Please help!

Need tattoo aftercare help. This just seems off?

Ok I have a few tattoos but I recently went to a new artist...his aftercare seemed odd to me...he covered it with this sticky plastic tape stuff (not saran wrap) and said to keep it on for 4 days then take it off wash it and to just put cream on it...now looking through the plastic tape stuff the tattoo obviously bled and sOme ink came out like normal...but I'm afraid that since some ink came out...it's going to dye untattooed parts of my skin ruining the work...I've never heard if this before but it just seemed odd...any ideas thought or comments. I'm on day 3 should I say screw it and just take off the cover and lotion it up or should I just wait and do like he said.

Behind ear tattoo aftercare?

So, on saturday I'm going to get a tattoo behind my ear and I am very excited! (it's going to be a paper crane) I was just looking over some aftercare tips and I was wondering about washing my hair. Because it's going to be so close to my hair line, I am definitely planning on waiting a few days to wash my hair but I'm not sure how many. I'm starting school on Thursday so I'd like to be able to wash my hair on wednesday night. Would waiting five days be enough or can I wait less time to avoid a greasy itchy scalp? Thanks for your help in advance, and if you have any more tips I'd love to hear them!

Is petroleum jelly good for tattoo aftercare?

My Aftercare I give to my Clients:

Wash tattoo 1hr. after completetion, then apply super thin coat of A&D. Do this a few times a day for the first 2-3 days.

Then switch to a high quality cocoa butter. Again thin coats worked in whenever the tattoo looks or feels dry. This can be anywhere from every hour to every 15mins.
