Here are my symptoms, but the doctor says I am "imagining it and if I stop thinking about it, it will go away"
1. Chronic Chest pains (shooting pains, which sometime travel up my leg and down my arm) 2. Muscle Tremors 3. I am ALWAYS cold 4. Dizzines 5. Insomnia 6. Stomach Problems (feels like something is wriggling in there, no I'm not pregnant) 7. I get the shakes when I drink 8. Constanly running into things 9. bad-balance 10. Always itchy 11. (I have been diagnosed with GERD, but that's another story) 12. I can only eat about 8oz of food before I feel full What the begeezus is goin on???
If my cat doesn't show any symptoms of rabies after 10 days, is it safe to say she couldn't have infected me when she bit me?
I'm sorry…your cat is an indoor cat, and you think she got rabies. ..how? Maybe you meant outdoors. Rabies in pets is fairly rare. In indoor pets, it's almost impossible. Unless you have bats in your attic and she hangs out in there. Just because an animal bites you doesn't mean you're at risk. Working in a vet clinic and in rescue, I've been bitten by more cats and dogs I can't count. Some stray. People in the vet field can get bit weekly. I've never worried and I've never gotten rabies. If you really want, you can go to the doctor and get vaccinated. But it won't be pleasant. When animals go on quarantine, it's for a out a week. They are then declared “safe”. They even go on quarantine if they have been vaccinated. So I'd say you're just fine.
How do I tell my mom that I think I have ADHD?
I have been doing a lot of research on ADHD because someone told me that I might have it. Most of the things that they say online really relate to the kinds of things I do. I have also asked questions on here about my "symptoms" and most people said that I probably do have ADHD. I want to tell my mom so I can go see a doctor, but I don't know how to tell her. It would be weird if I just said "Hey mom I have ADHD!". Does anyone have a way that I could tell my mom without it being weird or awkward. I'm 16 BTW.
How do I tell my mom I want to get tested?
You can get tested at some clinics with out your parents knowledge you don't have to tell them any thing but it's usually a good thing to be honest with your parents. They can help you to see a doctor and get treatment. Some times you have to be 16+ just to get a prescription filled. You should know, some stds can take a while to show symptoms and you can have an std with out having many noticeable or tell tale symptoms. Sit down with your mother, tell her you need to talk about sex and tell her what happened. Even if she does get upset you're still her daughter. I think that if any one thinks they are old enough to have sex they should be able to have a mature and honest conversation about sex with their parents. It may be a little awkward at first, but once you get the ball rolling you may feel more comfortable about going to your parents to sort things out.
What do I say to get an Adderall prescription?
This inadvertently did it for me. I had no idea what Adderall was before this experience. I went to my doctor for a routine physical and at the end he asked me if I had any other issues to discuss. I said that I had been having a hard time concentrating for some time and that my work and personal life were being impacted. I could not seem to get anything done and just circled the drain on all the personal and work tasks I had going. Tasks and responsibilites were piling up and as hard as I worked to get ahead I was falling further and further behind. Frustration and depression were creeping into my life and I was submerged in the pressures. I admitted to him I was not sure what he could do for that after all, such is life right? But he did ask.He discussed programs, classes etc. but zeroed in on first trying a short course of Adderall to help me get out of the fog and get on top of things again. His reasoning was classes and programs would add one more thing to my already unmanageable list of obligations and responsibilities and he didn’t want to compound things. Wow. What a difference that decision made. I was on the drug for about three months. Got ahead of the game in everything and was able to get to a point where I had no backlog of tasks at work or at home. Probably the most productive three months of my life. I even managed to pull off a promotion at work in recognition for the amount of productivity and accomplishments during that evaluation period.My Dr. stopped the prescription once I gave him a favorable report and I went about my life as usual. It did the trick in a big way. That was almost 8 year ago and I’ve had no further need for the drug but do miss the mental sharpness and ability to categorize, prioritize, and complete every single task I had swirling around in my mind. All with a fraction of the mental effort it took when not on the drug.I reminisce about that experience and often think of how nice it would be to have one of those hospital drug clickers permanently attached to give myself a dose of that stuff whenever things get crazy hectic… LOL. But yah, there’s that whole addiction thing lurking at the edges of that plan…
I'm 16. Is my doctor allowed to tell my parents if I have an std?
I have a boyfriend and I think he might have given me an std. I have been doing some research and I have most of the symptoms of Gonorrhea. (Itchy, burning, swollen, ect.). But I also have all the symptoms of a yeast infection. So I'm thinking it could be either or. My friend said she is going to take me to Planned Parenthood because apparently, they test for free and don't tell your parents. And if you have an std they will give you medication for free, still without telling your parents. The problem is, the day my syptoms started, I immediatley told my mom I thought i had a yeast infection because this was before I thought of having an std. Just tonight, she told me she made me a doctors appointment and I'm leaving in about 15 minutes. My question is, what am I going to say if my doctor says I don't have a yeast infection? If I have an std, will my doctor tell my parents? Or is the doctor just like Planned Parenthood where they wont say anything? And if my doctor tells me I have an std, will they give me medication for free like Planned Parenthood?
