Temporary Buzzing Sound When I Accelerate My Car

Empty radiator, full reservoir?

Ok. My car is a 98' Hyundai and it crapped out on me the other day. It overheated while driving home. I noticed loss of heat in my car while driving and when I went up a slight hill off the highway the car started to smoke. The car came to a stall, the oil light went on and I had to get a very nice truck driver to help me roll the car out of the three lane traffic the car decided to stop in.

I looked under the hood to see that the heat shield has fallen off and was sitting against the radiator. This melted a small patch of fins and created a small hole. My temporary fix was to put leak seal in the rad and wire the heat shield to the engine with 14 gauge wire. The wires are nowhere near any rubber and that quick fix seems to be fine for now.

After running the leak seal through the system, which was probably stupid since I have no idea how often the radiator has been flushed, if ever.

After work I started my car and the temp gauge was WAY down and my heater was not working. I started to drive and the temp gauge went under halfway and the heat started to work. If the car was idle, the heat would disappear. Once again, I went up a slight hill and the temp gauge went way up. Luckily, I was near home. I looked under the hood. I could hear a lot of pressure under the rad cap, and there was a bit of smoke, the fan kicked in. I let the engine cool to find that the rad was completely empty but the reservoir was full?! There was no leaks and the front of the rad was completely dry.

It should be noted that when I started the car the other day there was a big puff of white smoke out of the exhaust which would indicate that there was coolant in the exhaust. The car also make a buzzing weird sound when accelerating...

I know bunk about cars...I have been told that this is could be due to a faulty head gasket or a clogged hose. Is it possible that the rad cap is too tight? There was no steam coming out of the rad when I could hear a lot of pressure underneath the cap.

I don't think it has anything to do with the water pump or thermostat but am open to suggestions...

THANKS!

It sounds like there is a car engine in my ear -- what's going on?

Sounds like Tinnitus or maybe your ears are just over blocked with wax, hopefully. Suggest you have them checked ASAP.

What does it mean if a diesel engine throws white smoke?

White smoke from a diesel is usually from unburned fuel. When combustion is incomplete, a diesel mist comes from the exhaust. It is very common when starting a diesel in very cold weather. It can occur from bad rings or valves not properly sealing the combustion chamber, an engine running too cool for complete combustion, defective injectors, or bad injector timing. The other possibility is a leaking coolant system. Coolant can enter the combustion chamber from a cracked block or head, a bad injector sleeve, blown head gasket, or even a leaking intercooler. The difference is that coolant smells sweet, and white smoke smells like fuel.

Does cracking one's neck and spine cause any damage?

There's two answers to your question, it all depends on how you are cracking the joint. In my field the use joint calvitation instead of cracking but Ill use cracking to keep it simple. The noise heard happens because you break the joint seal, sometimes gas pockets form within the joint and by popping this joint seal the gas escapes. The effect is similar to putting a finger in your mouth on the inside of your cheek, covering it with your lips and then flicking it out of your mouth as the seal created by your finger is broken. Now what do I mean by 2 answers? 1) If you're cracking it within its normal range, you're probably ok. An example for the neck would be nodding your head or turning it from side to side as if sayinga non-verbal no. This is because this is what your bones were made to do. All the surfaces are lined up so that they'll back into place with no issue. 2) Any combination where you're going to extremes of a mix of these motions and you may be setting yourself up for trouble. Not because of the cracking noise itself but because you may carry those joints to a point in which the bony surfaces get to a point where they don't align and when you try to come back the bones get stuck out of place. This is especially true if the ligaments have been loosened by doing something which repetitively challenges them. This situation is similar to how a drawer can get stuck after you pull it out at an angle. An example of what not to do would be looking up at the ceiling and then cracking it by turning your neck to the side. I probably would not recommend this.I used to crack my fingers a lot in high school but eventual worked my way out of the habit even though it's not inherently bad for you. The neck and spine also do contain a spinal cord, and in the case of the neck, the vertebrae have 2 of the 4 arteries supplying your brain that basically run through them so I would be a bit more careful cracking things in this area if I were to give you any advice.

My 97 gmc suburban k1500 transmission makes a whining noise when it is going up hill, what does this mean?

It could be low on fluid. When it is low enough the front pump will make a whining or buzzing noise as it sucks air in. Going uphil may allow the fluid to accumulate in the back of the pan and create a temporary low fluid condition.
