Can eczema be cured with traditional medicines?
Thanks for the A2A.The short answer is yes, despite the claim from another answerer (M.D. Medicine): “Eczema cannot be cured. It can be managed, but there is currently no cure. Often, it fades with time.”I had eczema, quite badly, on my hands. I no longer have eczema. It didn’t just fade, it diasappeared completely, never to return again. That was some 15+ years ago. I would call that a cure. I would agree that using conventional medicine like cortisone creams will not cure eczema, just manage the symptoms, until they weaken the skin so much that it becomes paper thin and very vulnerable.I think it is a mistake to talk about traditional medicines in the same way we talk about drugs. If you want to know if X traditional medicine can cure eczema if used in place of Y modern/allopathic drug, the answer to your question is probably no. Most ancient medical systems go beyond symptoms and look to the root causes, including the spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, psychological, social and environmental ones.If you want to know if there are natural medicines that, combined with a holistic approach, can cure eczema, the answer is yes but you have to clean up all the toxins in your life as well. Emotional and relationship toxins like negativity, anger, unforgiveness, resentment and regret can all play a part.Physical toxins: chemicals you put on your skin like shampoo, soap, antibacterial whatever, cosmetics etc. I found out the latex in rubber gloves didn’t do my skin any good. Then there’s what you put in your mouth. Son has severe eczema, anybody heard of crisco as remedy?
My little boy has suffered so much with eczema over the years. Started when he was 6 months old and he's now 10 so I can honestly say we've tried everrything under the sun. As a toddler he was prescribed a steroid cream for spots of eczema on his legs. Can't speak for anybody else but I think this was what triggered a HUGE reactive spread of the affected areas --- arms, legs, abdomen, ankles, hands and face. He's a trooper; hardly complains anymore. Just kills us to see him with what honestly looks like crocodile or lizard skin. I work at a pediatrics office so we have no shortage of creams and potions and medicines. Nothing has truly worked to bring it under control. Just started using EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) and now i may try Crisco... yes, THAT Crisco. Anybody have an experience like mine?
What is the best treatment for eczema?
I have had severe Eczema for 20 out of my 22 years of existence. I have struggled with bloody sheets, horrible mornings, horribly painful showers and countless sleepless nights. I have been to doctors who have told me that I might have one of the worst cases in the Western US. I've even been turned down by dermatologists because I have tried everything that he knows what to do. Its been so severe that I almost died from it when I was little. Heck this past year, I've been in the ER twice. After going to hundreds of doctors, many told me the same things. Try this ointment, or this topical steroid etc. Then I went to the Mayo Clinic. They did skin patch testing but one thing they told me to try actually kind of helped! I couldn't believe it! Finally! Now, keep in mind that this kind of works for me, but I was just glad that they found something that works, even though it was a little. Here's what they told me: Use 1 tablespoon of vinegar per one quart of water. Soak clothes in it, apply ointment to effected area, and then put wet vinegar clothes on. It will sting at first. This will calm the inflamed skin and help to prevent infections as well. Use socks, underwear, shirts etc. The clothes will get cold so if may be a good idea to put long sleeves or another shirt over the wet clothes. The wet clothes (wet wraps) may cause discomfort so it may be a good idea to watch a movie to get your mind off it. Twice a day is ideal. I hope I helped! Note: A couple years back, I moved to Florida to help my skin and it was a huge improvement! The humidity did wonders! I could sleep a whole night, and the salt water from the ocean helped a great deal as well. Try going to a humid place or different climates to see if that helps. I had to move back to my home state which is very dry, for financial reasons unfortunately. Good luck
Is there a cure for eczema?
i have been using oatmeal baths, bath salts (dead sea and epsom salts) and baking soda instead of soaps or cleansers. i do not wear any moisterizer products or vaseline oils and do not use any prescriptions or over the coutner medications. my skin does not itch at all and i can go to the gyms and sweat vigoriously with no ill effects. i also sit in steam rooms or sweat rooms after my workouts at the gym and this does not cause problems either. my only problem is that the skin where i have the eczmea (neck and elbow) will not clear up completely. most of it has cleared up though. it was a mild eczema. it is a little thicker than normal skin and a bit redder with some fine lines like leather.
Flesh eating area on my wrist??(Picture involved)?
This looks like Cellulitis which is inflammation of the cells, get to the doctors and you will probably be prescribed antibiotics, it is not a big deal, as long as you treat it. No worries.
What's the cure for eczema?
Eczema is a generalised term that encompasses various inflammatory skin conditions. It is used synonymously with the term "Dermatitis" which means superficial inflammation of the skin (epidermis) that can be acute, chronic and recurring; can have a number of causes. Atopic dermatitis is another term used to define eczema.Eczema (or Atopic Dermatitis) is a skin-deep disease. It calls for internal, deep acting homeopathic treatment. The fundamental strength of homeopathy is that the treatment is targeted at1. Genetic components2. Coping up with sentimental triggersThe Homeopathy TreatmentThe individualized treatment is based on the study of patients patches, extent, cause, genetic pattern, emotional sphere, hormonal imbalance, and other factors which lead and maintain the disease.Duration of Eczema treatment:The total length of treatment varies from case to case, depending on the following factors:Duration of Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)Areas affectedExtent of spreadPrevious medication (Extensive use of oral or local cortisone)One may expect a definite change in about three to five months, depending on the extent. The total length of medication may be anything between six months to one years or longer. Why homeopathy for Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)?Major benefits of homeopathy could be summarized as under:It addresses altered immune system, treating the roots of this autoimmune disease. It is not superficial but deep acting; gives lasting to almost permanent results in most cases. It is absolutely harmless, safe and non-toxic.In homeopathy, eczema has been considered, understood and treated as an external manifestation of an internal disorder. In other words, eczema is a result of a reactive process of the skin, which may be caused by external or internal factors. Eczema is more of an end result and not a disease by itself. The characteristic reaction shows up at the level of skin in the form of an eczematous rash. Any attempt to treat eczema with local application of creams or ointments on the skin, assuming that it is a skin-deep disease, may prove ineffective in the long run. Eczema needs to be tackled at a deeper level in order to treat it from the roots. This is best done with the homeopathic treatment. For further query you can visit our website www.askdrshah.com
