No.(1) Brazil has never been a target for terrorists. We do not invade other countries. We do not directly interfere in other countries' problems. We are associated with friendliness and cultural and ethnic diversity.(2) Brazil was the host of the last World Cup and nothing happened.(3) Brazil hosted many events that brought the highest figures of many if not almost all countries and nothing happened. Eco 92 happened more than 20 years ago (and nothing happened). So we have a long history of being able to ensure everyone's safety.(4) We do not hesitate to put the army in the streets to guarantee the security of tourists against regular criminals. So imagine what we are willing to do to deter more serious and life-threatening threats.(5) Many countries are cooperating with Brazil in this matter, feeding Brazil with intel. This is already happening and will be at its peak during the event.

No way!Brazil is a peaceful country and has no incidence of terrorist attacks ... How is the probability of terrorist attack in Rio de Janeiro Olympics?

To not say 0%, I'll say 1% is stretching it. Now about the reasons listed : 0% of that happening. Brazil is the 7th biggest economy on the planet, and going through a recession. That means that a lot of people who had a lot of money, don't anymore. And being very reliant on tourism, bombing a olimipic event is just bad for business. Secondly, that wouldn't be necessary for a couple. There could be a coup at any time, except almost no one wants one. Again, bad for business. And third, if you arbitrarily bomb Rio, you get a war. The gangs and militia that Rio houses have bigger and badder guns than the military. You start blowing up their territory, they get pretty passed. And last but not least: the current president could never through a coup, because she has insufficient political power, and perhaps more importantly, she was a victim of the last coup, and part of what got her elected in the first place was that she had fought against the dictatorship. So, if bombs go off during the olimipics, it wasn't the government, and there won't be a couple because of it. At most, the mayor will have to leave office.

They have indeed got anti-aircraft missiles, no fly zones, military vessels in the thames etc etc. However, I think this is just a very visible attempt to make people feel safe. The single most dangerous threat to public safety is the good old suicide bomber. Very hard to stop. In my view the most vulnerable of all events is the road cycling events. Around 200 miles of track. It's simply impossible to protect every mile of that. Just takes one guy to slip through the crowds on the streets when the bikes come past, and bang. Sadly, I'd put money on something very bad happening. Probably biological for maximum damage.

NOWhich will not prevent NBC from covering the NBC Olympics as if there had been.If there is a terrorist incident in some other part of Russia, they will treat it as if it took place at the Olympics.If there is no incident during the Oympics they will show terrorists acts in Russia from the past.In any event, there will be more mall shootings and school shootings in the US  than terror incidents in Russia.A big difference is that the economy of NBC and CNN depends on mall shootings and school shootings and police car chases and they encourage them by the type of coverage they practice.I do not know that the economy of Russian TV depends on terrorist incidents or that Russian TV encourages acts of violence.

What are the chances DAESH might attack Brazil during the Olympic Games?

Not very likelyThe intelligence service of the military is very good and it is they more than the local police that are in charge.Israel, France,the US, Cuba,Russia and others will have their own security services on the ground.The political turmoil in Brazil will be a net benefit as it will make it less probable that politicians will interfere with security. In Belgium politicians decided to exploit to the maximum their capture of the Paris terrorists and not only bragged that they were talking but the content.The final stages of legal impeachment of Dilma will not take place until after the Olympics so they may be some groups with an interest in political demonstrations. Terrorist could attack these crowds much more easily than in the Olympic village. The military will try to convince the mayor and governor to not allow large demonstrations during the Olympics.
