What is the best place you've ever visited on Holiday that you need to go to back one day?

Budapest, Hungary.I’ve been there three times now, most recently a few weeks ago. I was hesitant to go back out of fear that my memories of how great it is outstripped the reality. There was no reason to fear that. I still love the place.I feel very comfortable there. The city is beautiful. The cores of Buda and Pest were never ruined by modern architecture, whether by the communists or by “modern” architects bringing the cold, heartless rot of “urban renewal,” which really was the same architectural inhumanity practiced by the communists. The food and wine are delicious. Prices are reasonable. Tourists are sequestered on Castle Hill and do not overwhelm any other parts of the city. Hungarians, with their impenetrable language and Asian cultural touches dropped into the middle of Central Europe, are an outsider culture where us congenital outsiders can feel comfortable.Plus, after a long day of touristing, you can soak in the thermal baths. Now, if I had to answer this by referring to a place where I’ve been only once, but is very high on my list to revisit, my answer would be:Lima, Peru.Lima is amazing. There is so much history and culture. The food is absolutely wonderful, with Peruvian cuisine being one of the world’s great cuisines. The people are wonderfully friendly. Other than hotel prices, it is a bargain. I only spent three days here and I know I want to go back.

Whats the best place to go on holiday in croatia?

Hi there. I just got back from Croatia a week or so ago. I went to Spllit, Hvar and Dubrovnik. It was extremely safe as long as you use your common sense.

You can see Split in a day or two. It's mostly a stopping point to get to the southern Dalmation coast. Hvar was the best!!! A non-stop party. Dubrovnik was pretty cool too. More to see than in Hvar and a little more relaxed. The scene was decent as well. Saw the designer Valentino while we drinking at a bar there.

The beaches in Hvar and Dubrovnik are very rocky and have sea urchins so be sure to bring swim shoes. But the water is absolutely gorgeous and surprisingly warmer than I thought it would be. I think I met one or two other Americans while I was there, so it really felt like a vacation. Lots of Italians there on holiday, a few Brits and Australians as well. It was the best vacation I've ever been on! Have a great time if you decide to go there.

Where in the world is the best place to go on holiday?

Dear Nikki:

Rome is Amazing! Late Spring/Early Fall is really nice.
Have you considered Florence or Venice, too?
Italy is Magical!

Last year I toured The Baltic. It was utterly awesome.
The Scandinavian Countries are really nice in the Summer.
Especially Copenhagen & Stockholm. Estonia was a Surprise!

This year I am taking a River Cruise up The Danube &
The Rhine. Budapest to Amsterdam, with a week in Prague.
I'm looking forward to Vienna, also!

Good Luck~
Have Fun in Europe!

Where is the strangest place you've been on holiday?

This is the Ruth Glacier in the summer somewhere between Talkeetna and Denali, Alaska. Thousands of years old and a couple miles deep. Never before have I been anywhere so untouched by man and probably never will again. Breathtaking.

Where’s a good place that you have been on holiday but would not return to now and why?

I am an avid traveller and this year I visited several places within and outside India:Goa, Landsdowne, Austria and Croatia.I have a preference for scenic landscapes rather than a popular city. So Hallstatt in Austria was a particular favourite where I did not feel like coming back. Similarly, Dubrovnik in Croatia was a delight to watch. Sharing some of the pictures and my travel journey in the below linkSalzkammergut Region - Hidden Gem of AustriaCroatia Diaries - 2018 - Part 1That said I also enjoy exploring new places. So as every holiday finishes, I find it difficult to come back to normal routine and start looking for new places for my future trips.

Holiday in Iceland...?

I've been to Iceland twice and cannot wait to go back. It can be expensive, but I did the trip very reasonably by taking my own food, staying in hostels and doing alot of hiking instead of the expensive tours (snowmobile, horseback riding, caving).

It is very incredible, so many different landscapes (fjords, lunar, hot springs, bubbling mud, glacial rivers and waterfalls, lava fields covered by flourescent green moss).

The people I've met there are awesome. (friendly, intellegent & helpful).

A trip I'd highly recommend!

Where do you live and where is the furthest place you have ever been relative to where you live?

Live currently: Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.Furthest place I have been from home: Muckleflugga lookout, Unst, Shetland Islands, Scotland.Distance from home: 16,500 km / 10,300 miles.EDITAs it turns out, I have been further. Using Antipodes Map - Tunnel to the other side of the world I found the opposite side of the planet to my home is a spot in the North Atlantic. The closest point to this spot that I have been is in the south of Britain, not the North. My bad for thinking on a flat map. As a cartographer I really should know better. I shall hang my head in shame. ;)So anyway, the furthest I have been from home is Land's End, Cornwall, England. It is 17,600 km from home. (10,940 miles)I was there just last month! I decided to post a photo, and looking through my gallery, it also turns out I took a photo of the board that says how far away it is from Ballarat.Let's just say I learned something from this post on Quora. And thank you to the OP who made me think.
