The Hdmi Input On My Sony Tv Isn

How to tell if my HDMI TV input is bad or the Cable box is bad???

There is one more variable: the cable (most likely)

You need another source, which you know works (say a DVD player) and another cable, then you try combinations.

Why won't my laptop detect the HDMI cable I put in?

Last night, I hooked up my HDTV to my Windows 7 Sony VAIO laptop using one of these cheap HDMI cables I found on Amazon. It was working perfectly. Now this morning, I decided to hook it up again, but for some reason, my computer is not detecting a signal in the computer. I tried everything. I checked to see whether they were in the outputs and inputs properly, I tried turning on and off the TV and restarting the computer, I even tried switching to another HDMI port on my TV, I even tried using another HDMI cable (another cheap one I bought off Amazon). This also seems to happen with a region free DVD player I have which has HDMI output. These problems have only occurred since I moved into a new house, and I am using the same TV as I did in the last house I lived in.

Do all Sony Bravia have HDMI ports?

Bravia (Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture) is brand of Sony. Most of the Sony Bravia (after 2008) should have an HDMI port.

Does my TV have an HDMI input, and is it compatible with a blu ray player?

thanks for your answer mark.
i'm just curious, why would it be a waste? and is a BD player compatible with the kind of tv i have? at this point, i just wanna be able to watch blu-ray movies solely for the more extras/footage that they have than a dvd. for example, for the Harry Potter movies, they include much more stuff/videos on blu-ray than DVDs, and i just wanna watch those videos/footage, that's all. i don't really care about the picture quality all that much. as long as if its as good as DVD quality, i'm satisfied. i'll buy an advanced, newer version HDTV later. so for now, i'm just wondering if the tv i currently have can play Blu-ray with a BD player...?

How can I connect a 1TB HDD to Sony Bravia TV which has an HDMI port?

Connect the HDD to a computer/laptop. Then connect the computer/laptop to TV with HDMIHDMI connections are solely meant to transfer visual and audio data but not the data files itself. It needs a computer to render these data files into visual and audio data, which later is transmitted to the TV using HDMI.

How do i go about connecting a laptop to a sony bravia bx300 tv?

i'm trying to use an HDMI cable. but my laptop (windows xp) just turns black whenever i try connecting the cable to the tv's and laptop's hdmi ports. the tv also says "no signal".

i dont really know what i'm doing and there really isn't a "help" hotline i could call in our area. and i cant seem to find the tv's manual (its frustrating because i ALWAYS see it when i DONT need it, but disappears when i try to find it).

i also tried if the problem was the hdmi cable i bought, but it worked fine on a samsung dvd player...

is the problem because of my laptop's OS (win xp) ? if that's the case, what drivers/essential program do i need ?

i've tried the tips in this article http://www.ehow.com/how_6975031_connect-pc-sony-bravia.html
but i haven't had much luck.

Tl;dr version; im just basically trying to use the tv as a monitor.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

How do you replace an HDMI Port on a TV?

May I suggest an easier solution than replacing the HDMI port? Not only is replacing the port itself highly unlikely to fix your problem [1], it's probably the most costly route.I assume you have multiple HDMI ports on your HDTV (since almost all HDTVs have an internal HDMI switch). Buy a new HDMI switch (or if you want to beef up your home theater, get an AV Receiver) and just use the switch with one of the working ports on your TV. HDMI switches go for  $25, like this one (full disclosure, I work for this company):Ibis - 2x1 or 1x2 HDMI Bi-Directional Switch with HDCP Passthrough or this one that uses a remote:3x1 HDMI Switch with Remote (1.3b Compliant) with 6 Foot HDMI Cable [1] Replacing the port will not very likely fix your problem. This is because it's very rare that the port itself is the problem, unless your kid maybe put some peanut butter in it or something and that's why it's not working. The more common issue is probably somewhere along the path between the port and the internal HDMI switch, or the internal HDMI switch itself.

How do I connect an HDMI cable in a Sony Brava TV for audio from this home theatre?

Check your manual for the HDMI port marked ARC, which stands for audio return channel. Connect your receiver’s TV out HDMI to this port. This guarantees that if you either have items plugged into your TV as well as your receiver, or if you use Smart TV functions, the audio from your TV will pass to your receiver.

Turtle Beach X12 HDMI Audio Out?

This is going to be specific. You will need a Sony bravia 55 in LCD TV. Ok, so my Xbox is connected to HDMI Port 3 so when I go on inputs it appears as HDMI 3. I want to connect my Turtle Beach X12's to the HDMI Audio Out, but I can't find it on any blueprints. I haven't been able to check the actual tv because it's hanging up on the wall and would be a waste to get it off for cheap headphones. So can someone help/guide me to the HDMI 3 Audio Out L/R on the BACK PANEL. Thanks. Sorry for any grammar/ spelling errors. Writing on iPhone.

HDMI Laptop/Xbox 360 to TV problem?

When I hook the HDMI cable to the t.v. via laptop or xbox 360 the screen on my tv is blank. I have an HP Pavillion g series laptop and an Orion TV (model # SLED2468W). I tried several HDMI cables, but none of them work. I was watching tv with it hooked onto my laptop and if just stopped displaying in the middle of a movie. It never worked again after that. Then I tried to hook it up to my xbox 360 and it still didn't work. Before it went out I had to keep adjusting the cable to get a "good spot" otherwise it wouldn't display on the tv. Is there something wrong with the hdmi input on my tv or is this something I can fix through my laptop? It seems like there is something wrong with the HDMI input on the TV. It doesn't say that there isn't any signal on the tv like it would if I had it on PC for example. It's just black. I tried to change the display settings to .. extend to other device, but it still doesn't work. It is normally on duplicate display. I switched it back since it didn't work.
