The Md Of My Company Insists On Buying Macs Even Though Noone Wants Them.

Which is a more intimidating pistol? A revolver, or a semi auto?

Try not to let the looks of a firearm influence your purchase. You should go with whatever you are most comfortable with and what you shoot the best.

For me, an autoloader is best, but that might be different for you. As long as you are armed and know what you're doing (practice makes perfect), what you're carrying won't matter too much.

Dead is dead. It doesn't matter if it's the result of a .38 out of a revolver or a 9mm out of an autoloader.

What laptop/computer should I purchase for deep learning? How much will it cost?

You will not be able to use just a laptop for efficiently training deep neural networks. However, if you want to train lots of small networks, or do some basic training before deploying your training script on a heavy machine, and are hell bent on buying a laptop for training, I’d suggest you buy a gaming laptop.Asus and Acer have good options here. You can run Linux on it like a pro. These have decent GPUs, and give you good performance for training small networks. This is more convenient than setting up an external GPU on another laptop.See this for Macs: Macs are now compatible with Nvidia's Pascal graphics, starting with the Titan XpBut then, I don’t think you should invest in a laptop for doing heavy machine learning.Build your own customised heavy duty machine. Here is an article I have shared multiple times about this topic: Build a Deep Learning Rig for $800 – Towards Data Science – MediumThere are various other good articles on Quora and elsewhere about setting up your own machine for doing deep learning.I believe that in today’s day and age, when GPUs are being upgraded so often, you don’t want to be left behind because you invested heavily in an older piece of hardware.Rent a suitable AWS instance. I have used this and find it one of the easiest services to configure and use.Rent a Google Cloud Platform instance. Have used it a little. Personally, I find the configuration and interface of this to be more complicated than than of AWS. But if Google churns out its TPUs (Tensor Processing Units) soon, I suspect that Google Cloud Platform will be the only service to host these devices for some time before other players in the industry can develop similar processors.Rent a Microsoft Azure instance. Don’t have experience in this area, so can’t say much. You only need a decent/average laptop now. You can develop your models on it, do a mock training on it, and then deploy it on the remote server. This is what I myself do to train neural nets. I design them on my MacBook Air, and then train it on an AWS instance. For guidance on how to do this, see this article which I wrote recently: Semantic Segmentation of Urban Street Scenes in Mathematica.

Getting tonsils out at 35 years old...?

Just know you will be in pain! I had them out about 2 year ago at 28 and that is the worst pain I have ever had... ever! I've even had a breast augmentation and that did not compare at all to the tonsillectomy!

For pain you will have liquid pain medication thank god! What I did to have liquids is I put ice in a blender and blended it like a slushy and spooned it in. This helped numb my throat but kept me hydrated. I tried to sleep alot to get me not to think about the pain! You will lose weight because you can't eat, try unsalted mashed potatoes, maybe mac n cheese. Salty things burn, tomato based things burn, lots of popsicles, ice cream.

Your doctor will let you know what is normal and what is not. You will develop scabs in the back of your throat. I noticed this but never noticed when they were gone.

Take your pain meds as prescribed. Oh what also helped were ice packs, I placed them on each side of my throat, (outside of course) because the pain radiates out to your ears! Through all this I don't regret it, one of the best things I did.

Goodluck and i'll be thinking of you. You'll do well.

About the blood pressure, I figure it may go up because of the pain. People who have borderline blood pressure can experience a jump in their pressure under pain. So this may be why.

How much money can you make through a McDonald’s franchise?

I personally make around $300,000 a year not including taxes from my McDonald's restaurants. I had both built in Strategic locations because the busier the area the more business you make. Keep in mind you have to make a loan with the bank and the usual loan for a McDonald's franchise is around $1,000,000 and that is that high because they are guaranteed for success. I personally got one loan when I was 21 and my family has a good financial background my Stepdad is a Banker so he approved me for all three loans. I had my second loan for my second Franchise and I was 24 at the time my first Franchise was a success and I got my second Franchise loan Approved. I last year bought a failing Domino’s store and fixed it up and now I am making around $400,000 not including taxes and Wages and Renting/Leasing fees. I am in a few years looking to buy a Hotel or a Motel and start on that path. I want my own little empire of franchises and maybe start a charity for underprivileged people in need. I plan on buying hopefully a Super 8 and a Hilton with a Convention center and a restaurant. Anyways one McDonald’s Franchise usually makes on average $157,000 in profit.
