The Past Few Years I Have Been Having Creepy Nightmarish Visions Whilst Fully Awake.

Why do we wake up right after dying in a dream?

Inception isn't?You don't actually die in a dream, close enough is when you’re about to die (probably as a result of a danger).No one can actually say I died this second in my dream, few seconds to the death are always not knownWhen you're close to being dead in a dream, your heart either beats so fast you wake feeling your chest pounding or the pain about to cause your death (in the dream) wakes you.There is a science behind this;When you dream you're in REM sleep (rapid eye movement). REM sleep is only slightly deeper than stage 1 of non-REM which means it's not hard to wake up in the first place.Dying in a dream is a stressful event, which causes your brain to release adrenaline. You can't sleep and have an adrenaline rush at the same time so you wake up.These dreams where you die and wake up are usually more memorable due to the fact that you wake up whereas most people don't remember 95% of their dreams.Being particularly scary or threatening, nightmares can provoke ‘fight and flight’ responses, and the release of adrenalin whilst we are still asleep.

I'm having visions and really scary dreams?

Okay so I know this sounds a bit mad but I'm 14 years old and have been having really violent visions/thoughts. They usually consist of people killing themselves, people getting crushed, people getting raped ect ect. The most recent one was a man driving a girl through the forest and a bowling ball or a canon ball slamming into her. They were {what I thought} a normal thing and only happened every week or so but over the last week they've been every hour or so and I could just be sitting there and nothing triggers them, they just randomly start playing {very vividly} in my head and they really scare me. Before this I had common visions when people talked about death ect and I would see my friends going through what the person has told me but lately they have just been totally out of control and I really don't understand.
I've also been having horrible dreams of being tortured, last night I had a dream someone took me and a boy into a room and locked us in and engraved numbers all over my skin then buried me in the walls. I've had dreams that my mum is being strangled right in front of me. Usually with nightmares I can pull myself out/wake myself up before anything bad happens but lately I just can't.
My Mum is training to be a social worker {and specifically wants to work with people with mental health} she asked me things that a shrink would ask or a doctor would ask such as are you being bullied, are you abused, have you had any sexual abuse but all I answer is no because my life is perfectly fine and I don't understand what is bringing these things on. I've stopped watching/reading anything that could scare me, creep me out or set off my subconscious mind to see if that was causing it but I've continued to have these visions/dreams.

Also today my mum told me it may be genetics because my dads side of the family used to see things. Like my Aunty when she was younger could see a boy and a girl playing at the end of her bed. I was just told this today so it couldn't be any cause of the visions. Hope someone can help :}

Why is 3 am such a creepy time to wake up?

Firstly, I don't "know" why we wake up at 3:00 am, but here are some things that I've come across:Your dead loved ones (or one) are visiting you at this time at night. It causes changes in the room temperature, your body feels it and you wake up.I've browsed some forums and blogs and they mention 3:00 am being "a special time" when the spirit activity is the most active.According Chinese medicine's "meridians", our body has certain cycles and waking up at a certain hour can tell us more about the processes happening in our bodies Why You Are Waking Up At The Same Time Every Night Pt1 (there's a chart).1:00 - 3:00 is connected to thyroid and other hormonal gland activity.But waking up at 3:00 am probably feels more spooky than "medical". I will share my experience with 3:00 (that happened tonight).I was dreaming some dreams and then suddenly woke up. It was like opening my eyes white open and looking around in panic, as if someone was in the room. There was no one, but I "knew" this feeling of waking up at 3:00 am. It was "weird". I told to myself: "I bet I can guess the time" (that was before I looked at the clock). The answer was "3:00". When I looked at the clock, it was 3:02 am.A strange thing is that my mother in law, who was sleeping downstairs was awaken at  3:06 am because she felt "cold". She thought it's because of the AC and she switched it off.Our dog always wakes up between 3:00 and 4:00 am. Tonight he cried out at about 3:00 because he was sleeping in the doorway and the door "squashed" his tail a bit, so he let out a cry (my mother in law told me).A year ago or so I remember my mother in law complaining that "someone knocks at her door" at 3:00-4:00 am, but when she looks, no one is there.After that I also got knocks in my bedroom door at 3:00 - 4:00 am for about three nights in a row, but I didn't even bother checking.So there is something about 3:00 am or any other time at night. It can be a belief as well, but it can be a synchronicity as well. To learn more about number 3 symbolic meaning, you could check with numerologists (just numerology meaning of number), tarot readers (Tarot card number 3 is Empress card, symbolizing creation, action and expression), also google "Chinese medicine meridians" and spirit mediums. I think these people could tell a lot more because they specialize in this area.

Why do I have hallucinations when I wake up?

Those are called hypnagogic hallucinations. They are neither dangerous nor a sign of any mental disorder. It is just a strange phenomenon that certain individuals experience. Some people believe that hypnagogic hallucinations are responsible for large proportion of reported hauntings and other supposedly supernatural events.

Sleep paralysis what is it, ive been having it for a while i just found out, OBE?...help?

so last night i just experienced something scary for about the fourth time. my body was asleep and my mind was consciously awake. i heard humming and buzzing in my ear and i couldn't move my body at all. in a way i felt like i was being held down. i read and found stuff on sleep paralysis. then i found something on narcolepsy also on ODE. now this was the first time i cried from it i was paniced and i didn't understand why this has been happening to me. my first worry was possession. my other question is, is OBE the same as sleep paralysis, i know its an out of body experience, but it didn't feel like that. Can someone just please explain what is happening to me?

Heard a voice last night while laying down to sleep...?

My house is not haunted and I am definitely sane. Just wanted to clear that up.

I was laying down to sleep last night and had my eyes closed. I wasn't very tired so I wasn't "half asleep" just yet, but I guess I was on my way there. I heard a male voice say in a kind of creepy tone "150, one week until you die" or "150, one week, you will die". I can't remember the exact wording but "150" and something about me dying was definitely in there. It was quite terrifying. A few days earlier, I was laying down to sleep and I actually had 2 different, random visions (they weren't dreams because I wasn't fully asleep yet) of me dying. I was not in fear of dying, nor did I feel it'd be anytime soon. However, after last night, it scared me. I know this probably sounds funny. I'm just wondering if anyone's experienced anything similar and/or if someone can explain this scientifically so I'll have confirmation that it is nothing to worry about.

Can sleep paralysis kill you?

I have experience sleep paralysis several times and trust me, sleep paralysis can’t kill you. It is only a myth. In fact, I have a blog where you can read about sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming.Let me be straight:There are no demons, dark entities, archons, spiders, aliens, reptilians, Illuminati, leeches, evil spirit, a deity or nine-legged snakes trying to eat you whole while stealing your soul… squashing you inside the bed with a big block of concrete that blocks your chest and you can't even move (like when Thor places his hammer on Loki’s chest!). Yes, sleep paralysis can be scary, very scary.Sleep paralysis happens this way because to all the junk that humanity has in its consciousness. After all, it is just hallucinations created by our minds. Our minds pull the information from the “memory banks” that we filled ourselves… But again, as I said they are just hallucinations and there is nothing wrong with them. We are the ones to blame for the scary parts, and we are the ones that need to work on this.Sleep paralysis is only a stage!It is a mechanical and natural process that we all go through, in fact, it happens every time we fall asleep. Many of you possibly have experienced it already. The mind paralysis the body so do you don’t act out your dreams. Somnambulism is a serious condition because of lack of sleep paralysis, among other reasons. If the mind is awake (you have not lost awareness), you are going to experience sleep paralysis consciously.When your mind is awake and your body is asleep, it triggers sleep paralysis. It always happens when you try to induce a lucid dream using the WILD technique, and the same goes if you are pursuing an astral projection. Do NOT MOVE nor try to move at this stage, or you will break your trance and blow it. You do not need to be afraid, and only focus in your desired dream or in your vibrations and you will have a pleasant surprise!I have a course about lucid dreaming where you can find a lot more out from lucid dreaming!
