The Skin Inside My Lip Is Growing On My Piercing It Looks Like My Stud Is Being Sallowed What

What do you do if your lip piercing is sinking into your skin?

I have two lowbrets that I had done in December. Everyday I was afraid that my jewelry was sinking into my skin because they cut little wholes into the inside of my lip, creating litle divets that they would sit in. But once the swelling went down I realized that it was normal. If you can pull your lip down (or if it is the top lip, up) and push on the jewelry from the outside and the plate freely comes out of the divet in your lip, then you should be fine. Do this everyday just to check. If it does not come out of your lip, when doing this. Go to a piercer ASAP. It doesn't even need to be the same place you had the piercing done.

At what age should kids be allowed to get body piercings?

When I was 16 I skipped school with two of my foster sisters. You know where this is going.X got her belly pierced and C and I got our tongues pierced.C and I were told that we could not eat food that we were to ONLY drink the broth from soup for a couple days. Eating regular food could cause an infection that could lead to getting our tongues cut off. I don't know if that's true but it was enough to scare half of us into compliance. So for two days I pretended to be sick so my foster mother would make me soup. I ate that broth halfheartedly but C not so much.C was a fatty. Again, Fatty means greedy, like she loved to eat. Nothing to do with weight. So on day two I caught C in the bathroom eating. Chicken, rice, beans the whole nine.I screamed at her until she finally put it down. She didn't care enough to not eat. She decided she didn't want the piercing anymore. So she took it off. This green substance immediately began oozing out of the hole. I ran to my room. She eventually told on herself and was taken to the ER. She did not lose her tongue, thankfully. So X and I are still hiding our piercings. We had purchased a few replacement piercings. 2 weeks later we were finally allowed to swap them out. I put on a purple dice. X chose a pink dangly piece. Cute. Off to school.During lunch break I was eating oreos. Unbeknownst to me, every bite was loosening my piercing. Little by little. Until…. I swallowed it. Yep, I swallowed it and no matter what I tried my body would not give it back.X is last piercer standing! She even made it to adulthood, only losing it due to pregnancy. So I guess the answer is adulthood is best for piercings unless it's a bellybutton. In that case probably 16.For my kids though, I am opting to let them experiment with these things as kids so they can get it out of their system. Anything not permanent.I have yet to even consider getting any piercings since then.

Lip piercing hurting at 2 months and flap of skin on the inside of lip?

My boyfriend got his lip pierced about two months ago, and skin was beginning to grow over the back of the labret, until he got a longer bar, but since that the flap of skin that was growing over hasn't healed. The piercing's also been hurting a lot lately he said, which I'm quite concerned about as I'm a piercing enthusiast. The outside of the piercing is fine, it's just the inside. He's not sure what to do, nor am I, but it definitely can't be good that it hurts to smile...

What is the smallest gauge for a nose piercing? Can you wear a normal ear stud in your nose piercing?

The smallest gauge jewelry isn't necessarily going to be the best option, especially for the initial piercing. There can be a "cheese slicing" effect if any body jewelry is too small and it is pulled or catches on anything. A fresh piercing is at a higher risk for this as the tissue surrounding it is very fragile until it has had a chance to heal completely from the outside of the site to the middle tissue of the piercing. Most nostril piercing are performed with an 18 ga (1.2 mm) or a 16 ga (1.4mm). They're very small. The smallest nostril jewelry I've seen available is a 20ga (~1 mm) but the jewelry is so small that it's prone to bending or becoming misshapen. The visible end to a nostril stud can be very small after the initial healing, being only slightly larger than the post. Starting jewelry normally has an end around 2mm to ensure it doesn't fall into the fresh piercing. As far as wearing an ear piercing post in your nostril, I would advise against it. Aside from it being incredibly uncomfortable, the only thing that would hold that jewelry in place would be a butterfly style backing. I cannot imagine that being an easy thing to keep clean. Also, you want to make sure that the jewelry you are using is high-quality and won't cause you any grief during healing. Even gold jewelry bought from a high-end jewelry store doesn't match up against gold body jewelry in terms of healing a piercing. Body piercing has come a long way in the past couple of decades and the top brands for body piercings take a lot of pride in what they do. They're always growing and always learning and always coming up with safer, healthier alternatives for their clients. Don't sell yourself short and stick an earring in there. Treat your body like the temple that it is. Put only quality jewelry in it.

Nose stud was sinking into my skin when I woke up, What to do?

It was perfectly fine the night before because when I cleaned it, it wasn't sinking. I heard that this can cause kelliods, should i go ahead and begin to clean it with tea tree oil to prevent kelliods? I already have tea tree oil for my industrial. My nose stud has the swirl thing and I need help. Is my it cause my nose is slightly swollen?

Lip stud digging into the inside of my lip?

ohhh this exact thing happened to me. i got it pierced ( i have thick lips also) and the swelling combined with my thick lips basically swallowed the back of the piercing, i went to the piercing place and they switched it from the stud to a hoop (it hurt worse then the piercing due to it already was swollen) but felt so much better after. if you dont get them to switch it out, the healing will be long and painful and can also lead to infection. i suggest that if it is really hurting take ibuprofen or go to the doctor and they will give you meds and it wont hurt the next day at all.

it shouldnt be that painful. especially 6 days after.

I Have the little rubber clear earring backing stuck inside my earring piercing hole! How do I get this out?

I got my earring piercing maybe 2 or 3 months ago, and I've just recently starting taking the original stud i got it piercing with out my earring i slept with it a few times but I'd change the backing cause the butterfly silver one it came with kept getting stuck in my hair, I changing to the plastic small clear one you find on the back of some studs in like Claire's or Forever 21 when you buy earrings its called the "hookup backing" here's a picture:

on eBay but its the clear kind.

I've been wearing the earring (STUD) for about a week, and sleeping with it now I look to take my earrings out before shampooing my hair and one on the right side is swollen my ear it red and i pull the stud out from the front, it hurt a tiny bit and the backing gone or itt is missing! I feel my ear, its puffy I know the backing its still inside. I put baby oil on and play a little to get it out and blood comes out. I try to put another earring in to see if it will push the backing out and it doesn't i stopped from messing with it any further and now I'm wonder what should do?? Please Help!!!! It's stuck inside, WTF happened and hw can i get it out! Doesn't hurt thay much.

How long does it take for your nose piercing to heal?

It depends by what you mean "close up" and how long you've had the piercing. If a piercing is fairly new, once the jewelry is removed the pressure on the walls of your piercing from your jewelry is gone, so the piercing wil start to squeeze closed. This could make it difficult to reinsert jewelry into the piercing within minutes. If there is an issue with reinserting the jewelry on your own, a reputable body piercer should be able to get it in for you without too much issue if you get to them within a day or two from the time the jewelry was removed. If you wait longer than a few days to visit a piercer to have the jewelry reinserted, then your piercing may have already started healing closed. This is because a new piercing that is less than 6 months old (or even up to a year) is still healing, so when the tissue squeezes down and the sides start touching each other, they will start connecting and healing closed. If a piercing has been there for a while, like a year or so, then you may be able to remove it for brief periods of time. How long really depends on your specific piercing and body.An important thing to note is that removing and reinserting jewelry into a piercing, even if it is healed, can lead to irritation and issues with your piercing. Now, if you were talking about removing your piercing because you don't want it and you want it to heal closed. Then no one can really predict, because different people with different diets and in different climates will heal differently. Just remove it and keep cleaning the inside and outside for a bit to make sure you're removing anything that may accumulate by the piercing and it should eventually close up.
