The Sound On My Laptop Won

Why won't my sound keys work on my laptop?

Can check the BIOS settings possibly (if it is insyde BIOS) and check system configuration and "action keys" is disabled or not, as this allows F keys to be used without pressing the FN (function) key and the F key to use the special functions, or to have them act as F1-F12 and not as any function, unless the FN key was pressed along with the corresponding F key to mute, change volume, brightness etc..
If that doesn't work, then I would begin to think maybe it is a hardware issue, or loose connector possibly causing these keys to not register at all.

My HP Laptop won't play sound?

get into DEVICE MANAGER in Control Panel seek any yellow Exclamation marks,, if none are there, i mean if you don't see any " ! " do the following 2 steps. No Harm will Come from these ok..
1st go down to SYSTEM Devices and open the SYSTEM SPEAKER -then UNINSTALL IT.
now close all the boxes to get back to the LIST in DEVICE MANAGER again,
2nd (and last step to fix it)= Go down to Sound and Video Game Controllers,.. click it 2 times to open it, now UNINSTALL the sound.
Now close out all the Boxes, get on your opening Icon main page, click start to chose RESTART. let it restart, but do not interfere with it when it is rebooting, because its installing what it needs and what was Uninstall ed automatically,, that should get correct device drivers by itself to cure the deaf tone Blues,,likely it was the ITunes took over as default device which overrides the computers soundcard OEM needed settings,..that's just a educated guess, but the drivers for these two sound items is where the root of the no sound lays either way.

Why is the sound not working on my HP laptop?

There might be two reasons for that and they are:Your Audio Drive needs update. To update your audio Driver, go to Desktop, search for “My PC, This PC or My Computer”. Then, right click on it and select “Manage”. Then choose “Device Manager”>“Audio inputs and outpts”Click on it and update the driver. For this, you should have an internet connection.2. 2nd Possible Reason is that, you need to troubleshoot the Audio Settings on your HP laptop. You can check what is happening in it. For this, on the bottom right corner, you can see an audio speaker. Right click on it and do “Troubleshoot”.If there is no any problem with the audio driver, then, you need to change the new Speakers on your HP Laptop.

My laptop froze and made a loud buzzing sound?

If your laptop turned back on then you are doing good. Sometimes there is a glitch of overheating problem that will cause your laptop to lock up, simply holding down the power button to hard reset will force the laptop to reset and fix your issue. You should get some duster and blow clean air into the air vents and try to get them as clear as possible just in case, if it starts happening more often then you should definitely do this. Also, don't put the laptop on your actual lap or on a pillow since cloth will easily get sucked up into the air vents.

Good luck!

Laptop - sounds won't play through the speakers, only through the headphones?

The settings if you are using Windows 7 are located in the control panel under audio. You need to go to playback devices, and set your speakers, not your line out jack as the default playback device (this works for Vista also). If you are using XP, it will be under control panel as well, under speakers.

If neither of these options go, in the control panel should be an application called Realtek HD audio device manager (or something similar). It should have similar options about changing your default audio device.

Good luck!

I dropped my laptop and now the sound isn't working, why?

I dropped my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1501) recently from only about 20cm's high, it turned itself off and i removed the battery then put it back in. When I switched it back on I noticed the sound had fully stopped working - even with headphones in. When it started up there was also a message stating some sort of 'Audio Event'. I didn't think this was too important, so I clicked an option and closed it to find that the sound no longer works. The socket where you insert your headphones has also been cracked but I have pretty much fixed it.

Could the sound card have broken or am I just doing something wrong? PLEASE, someone tell me what to do if you know how to fix this - I've looked all over YouTube and have found no answers to my problem.

Thanks! :)

My laptop won't boot up, just keeps making a clicking sound. Any thoughts?

1)
clicking sounds means HARD DISK issue. format your laptop with a boot-able disk, re-install windows
2)
if it fails to format form boot-able disk, pull ur hard disk out, connect with any desktop pc via SATA/ide connector format it from desktop pc.
3)
change ur HARD DISK.
