Do the British people know of Winston Churchill's decision of starving Indians in Bengal famine in 1943?

Some Nationalist un- educated Chindi from some backstreet in Delhi?Churchill was the prime minister of the UK, problems about food distribution in Bengal was unlikely to have passed over his desk especially as there was supposedly well educated Indian administrators employed to deal with such matters.Given that the UK had provided India with a superb rail network, and there was no national food shortage in 1943, it is to these paper pushers you have to address the question why people starved.The simple fact is the Bengalis starved because they could not afford to buy the food which was priced by Indian merchants. Why couldn’t they afford to buy food, because the Indian land owners made them redundant when the rains failed, instead of doing the land and water management improvements as recommended by the British. No work, no pay, no food - all engineered by Indians. Why no relief effort - ask the Indian administrators.What we do know is that while Indians were starving the Indian merchants were busy exporting the surpluses of food to the Middle East and beyond and keeping prices high in Bengal, with the assistance of the local Indian administrators.I think you would be better directing your questions to these gentlemen who won the Bengal government elections in 1943 ( Yes, Bengal had its own, autonomous government) :Huq's government fell in 1943 and a Muslim League government under Khawaja Nazimuddin as Prime Minister was formed. His Minister for Agriculture should be able to explain how such incompetence and corruption was rife during his tenure.Duly elected Bengal government and the Indian Civil service are the people to blame for the famine along with Indian merchants and Indian landowners , not some guy sat behind a desk in London.
