What does Justin Trudeau think of the King of England?

From what I understand relations between our Prime Minister and Aethelstan are rather touch and go..In all seriousness this is likely not a serious question. England hasn’t been a separate, independent kingdom since 1707 (Anne was the last “Queen of England” while William III, William of Orange or King Billy, was the last “King of England”).The last King of England was a Dutchman who stole the throne from his father-in-law and to this day has a divisive legacy in Northern Ireland. It’s ignorant/offensive to pretend that Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland either don’t exist or are somehow part of England. They have entirely different historical reference points, cultural traditions and languages. Indeed, Scotland is an older country than England.England is not shorthand for the UK, and people who treat it thus sound like idiots.Kingdom of England - WikipediaKingdom of Scotland - WikipediaActs of Union 1707 - WikipediaElizabeth II of the House of Windsor is the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, the Solomon Islands and a bunch of other countries. Personally, I’m a Canadian republican but I have nothing against her as an individual. Now, if Scotland ever regains her independence, which is possible, England will indeed have kings and queens of its own in the future, but until that day there is no King or Queen of England.Primer:England, Scotland and Wales - distinct nations with their own languages, cultural traditions and historical reference points that occupy the island of Great BritainGreat Britain - an islandIreland - another islandNorthern Ireland - the part of Ireland that remained part of the UK after 1921Republic of Ireland - the part of Ireland that became an independent country after 1921United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK for short) - a sovereign/independent country that includes that constituent countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

If Scotland became an independent country, could they have their own monarchy?

Elizabeth Queen of the ScotsAs counter intuitive as it sounds, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea all have their “own” monarchies. The title “Queen of Canada” is a “distinct constititional personality” of Elizabeth II. I think that if Scotland declares independence, it will have a separate monarchy too, so to speak, but it would be the same ruling family as in Canada and the rest.Allowing the Queen to have separate “constitutional personalities” was a clever British way of preserving the British monarchy as an institution throughout the old Commonwealth and also the Caribbean Commonwealth countries that had less ill feeling toward the empire after independence, such as Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Belize. I think it has served these countries’ needs because it is flexible and practical. It keeps the monarch from being an oppressive figure (she has no actual power), yet she represents historical ties with Britain, and her status supports the legal and political traditions that Britain bequeathed its former colonies.Still, it seems to have no basis in commonsense or indeed any historical grounds. How does the Queen of the United Kingdom maintain propriety when her different realms have disagreements? The Scottish say they like the Queen in opinion polls. I think she would be kept as the Scottish head of state. During the 2014 independence referendum, the Scottish National Party indicated they had no plan to declare a republic. The monarch would, however, have a further divided legal personality. It would put to the test the device of having distinct constitutional personalities. The royal family is in part directly Scottish, and they would actually reside there part of the year in Balmoral. Therefore, it would be at least slightly different from Canada, Jamaica, Australia, and the rest of the Queen’s “Commonwealth realms.”Would they have a Scottish governor-general? I don’t know. In light of history, it seems likely that some creative British legal framework would be invented so that it would appear to make historical sense even though it would be totally novel.

Are Britain and England the same thing?

No. Great Britain is a huge Monarchy; the largest ever on the planet. England is only a small part of it about the size of 1/4 of the United States. Queen Elizabeth, II is the Head of State of the United Kingdom encompassing England, Whales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, Queen of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Saint Kitts and Nevis. She is also Empress of India although she did give them independence, but they still respect her Crown.

Britain or Brittany as it is known is a realm of power. The reason for this is the family ancestry that has spread across the globe by family relations. Germany, Russia, Greece, Spain, France and more have been overseen by this dynasty of relatives. Even Prince Phillip (her husband) is related to his own wife on the German side of the Montbaddens. Her grandfather was the first Windsor and her great-great-great grandfather was Henry, VIII.

That is why she is the grandmother of the current Prince Henry, who is called "Harry", but that is not his Christened name. He was named after Henry, VIII. Princess Diana nicknamed him Harry, but that is not his name. Had Her Majesty's uncle Edward not abdicated the throne for Wallace Simpson, her father George would never have been King and she would not have been Queen. She was not in line of succession, but because of Edward's decision to abdicate, ultimately made her Queen, after her father. She is not a Windsor, but a Rex. That was Henry, VIII's last name. That is why you see E(II)R on everything. It stands for Elizabeth, II Rex.

Britain is Queen Elizabeth, II of the United Kingdom; the longest reigning Monarch in Britain's history. While it is is most likely that HRH Prince Charles Phillip Arthur George will take the throne; the next King after him will Be William, the eldest son of the Prince of Wales and our late Princess Diana. To this position will convey all of the above positions. I trust he will be as dutiful as his distinguished and appreciated mother; The Queen.

Why don't we know the surnames of the Royal Family of the United Kingdom? What is Queen Elizabeth's full name?

I am just curious, as we only call them Elizabeth the 1st, or Prince Charles. I know Princess Diana's maiden name was Spencer, and Princess Sarah's was Ferguson, but, what of the rest of the family?
