What will happen if you shift to manual mode while driving in an automatic transmission?
I’ve owned a few cars that have had a manual mode on an automatic box, and the answer is the same across all of them: They’ll sit in whatever gear they were currently in, and wait for you to change. If I’ve slowed down and failed to change down as I do, they’ve all downshifted for me even though I’ve been in manual mode. They might not necessarily have downshifted when I would have if I was driving myself, but they have done it.Once they’ve downshifted, I’ve not seen any of them try and upshift again. Apparently my current car will do it if you’re pushing it so hard that there’s a risk of damage, but I’ve not seen it for myself.
Nissan Altima Driver Sport (DS)?
So I bought a brand new 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5 sedan the other day. Being the dummy that I am, I drove the car home from the dealer in DS (drive sport). It was appoximately a 10 minute ride. It was on DS (-). My concern is that I could have damaged the engine/tranny/etc I think. The reason being is that I did not shift at all. I drove it as if it was on automatic drive. Do I have a reason to be worried?:(
Manual transmission swap for a 2014 mustang?
So I recently purchased my first car, about 3 months ago, I bought a 2014 v6 mustang premium. I wanted the manual tranny but my girlfriend basically forced me into the auto tran. I guess I'm a little whipped you can say lol. Anyways, I regret not getting the manual tran, my girl doesn't even drive my car! The whole reason we got it auto was because she was going to drive it also, but she has her own car. So my question is, how much for a manual transmission swap, including all the labor and parts. I spent 28 grad on this car, and it's only right I make it perfect for me.
I dont know how to put reverse gear in my VW golf car?
I am guessing you are talking stick shift. Put the stick in neutral(in the middle where it has a lot of play- then push down on the stick...it will drop about an inch(I have never measured it, it just goes downward.... then pull the stick over to your knee and back(almost like shifting in second) You are in reverse. This is the same for all stick shift VW.
