Themes In The Film Born In Flames

How to build propane flame-on-water fountain?

This is a fountain where the propane or natural gas is injected into the water and the fire itself burns just above the surface of the water after the bubbles of gas reach the air. I know they exist, but I can't find any details. People describe the flame as "dancing" on the surface. And to be clear, I'm not looking for the kind where liquid fuel is poured into the surface ... although those look interesting as well.

Thanks.

What are good Twin Flames movies to watch?

I enjoyed I Origins. It explores the relationship between an awakened and unawakened twin flames, synchronicities, connections over lifetimes and in the end, leaves you with both faith and doubt about the journey. When you watch it, that one scene will hit you hard in the feels. You’ll know the scene when it happens.Watch the trailer and you’ll understand. Anyone who is a twin flame will understand the plot holes immediately as not holes, but the unexplainable dynamics between twin flames.

Can someone please explain the end of "Meet Joe Black" to me?

Ahh yea the best part of the movie.Joe sits atop the stairway (and we are unsure if to heaven or hell) waiting for William. He shed tears as he gazes at the liveliness of the firework. William Parrish walks to him, accepting his fate—and Joe (Death personified) dries his tears and realizes his role as well in this universe. He cannot stay, and neither can William—even though they both admit “it’s hard to let go.”Joe Black takes William over a symbolic stairway/bridge. On the “life” side is where the party’s at, and the other “darker” side is the afterlife. Joe had fallen in love with Susan and towards the end, he realized that Susan is actually in love with the guy she met. Death promised her that she’ll always have the young man in the coffee shop. After taking William with him over the bridge, Death returned Joe—alive.Presumably, they’ll probably find William’s body on the other side of the bridge. They are not walking through a portal of some sort. The bridge part was creative storytelling.

R&P: Challenge For The Metalheads! How Many Subgenres Can You Name And Define?

I really know next to nothing about metal (although I do enjoy listening to some of it), but I have noticed that there are a whole heck of a lot of diffferent subgenres out there.

My challenge to you: Name and Define as many as you know. What I would really like would be a flowchart to identify them, but I understand if that is too hard.

What was the meaning of Full Metal Jacket's ending, when the soldiers are marching and singing the 'Mickey Mouse' song?

There are multiple layers of meaning that can be read into it.The Mickey Mouse club featured marching and a cheerful team of dancers and performers. It's ironic to have this at the end of such a blistering war movieMickey Mouse is a symbol of America, ths the conquering soldiers bringing 'freedom' are also bringing the mouse, another layer of irony.A "Mickey Mouse outfit" is a slang term for an unprofessional, clumsy, self destructive organization that takes no responsibility for the chaos it causes.By using the dark background with flames, it parodies the brighter presentation on the TV showHaving the soldiers sing it acts as a small act of rebellion as they march. It's an implicit criticism of the President "Who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me" while the scene shows destruction and has seen rampant self destructionBy having everyone singing in unison on film, yet clearly the music was done with a male choir it makes the male bonding of the marching scene surreal. It acts as an ironic counterpoint to the boy to man narrative of Full Metal Jacket

Help analyzing poem We are Many?

Can you please help mew analyze and understand the meaning of this poem We are Many By Pablo Neruda. I need to kmnown this all for a group discussion for tommorow. Thanks

We Are Many

Of the many men whom I am, whom we are,
I cannot settle on a single one.
They are lost to me under the cover of clothing
They have departed for another city.

When everything seems to be set
to show me off as a man of intelligence,
the fool I keep concealed on my person
takes over my talk and occupies my mouth.

On other occasions, I am dozing in the midst
of people of some distinction,
and when I summon my courageous self,
a coward completely unknown to me
swaddles my poor skeleton
in a thousand tiny reservations.

When a stately home bursts into flames,
instead of the fireman I summon,
an arsonist bursts on the scene,
and he is I. There is nothing I can do.
What must I do to distinguish myself?
How can I put myself together?

All the books I read
lionize dazzling hero figures,
brimming with self-assurance.
I die with envy of them;
and, in films where bullets fly on the wind,
I am left in envy of the cowboys,
left admiring even the horses.

But when I call upon my DASHING BEING,
out comes the same OLD LAZY SELF,
and so I never know just WHO I AM,
nor how many I am, nor WHO WE WILL BE BEING.
I would like to be able to touch a bell
and call up my real self, the truly me,
because if I really need my proper self,
I must not allow myself to disappear.

While I am writing, I am far away;
and when I come back, I have already left.
I should like to see if the same thing happens
to other people as it does to me,
to see if as many people are as I am,
and if they seem the same way to themselves.
When this problem has been thoroughly explored,
I am going to school myself so well in things
that, when I try to explain my problems,
I shall speak, not of self, but of geography

What movie had an awesome final battle but a terrible ending?

I pick Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, both Obi-Wan and Anakin's battle and Palpatine and Yoda's. Both conflicts could have been more than what they were.Obi-Wan and Anakin's fight was very well choreographed, but the whole “I have the high ground” ending was a let down, especially when it didn't play out that way when Darth Maul had the high ground on Obi-Wan in Phantom Menace. This was truly the death of Anakin Skywalker and the birth of Darth Vader, and it should have been a far more climactic ending to their battle. Anakin screaming “I hate you” while Obi-Wan walks away like “b**** please” just didn't work. Also, the explaination for Vader being encased in his iconic suit didn't work either. Yes, he was engulfed in flames, but they also have advanced medical technology where people can take a chemical bath and be completely healed after they towel off. No way this is solely the reason why he's in that suit for life. The scene felt rushed and incomplete.Palpatine and Yoda's confrontation was a completely missed opportunity: arguably these two are the Supreme Heavyweight Contenders of the Star Wars universe. Here was a chance to showcase true displays of Force weilding power and skill, and they resort to fighting with light sticks just like everyone else. The ending of their fight, with both falling off a platform in the Senate Amphitheatre, has Palpatine laughing while Yoda is running away like a scared rabbit without even trying to put up more of a fight. It was so lame and didn't do either character justice (especially Jedi “Master" Yoda). Just like a first round knock out in a championship fight: it didn't live up to the hype. It's almost like the filmmakers ran out of money and simply called it a day. They are both the worst end battle scenes ever and lacked true climactic vision that is to be expected in an epic saga.
