What do you say to a friend who walked out of your life but then decideds they want back in it?
I am so confused, an old friend of mine just randomly one day stopped talking to me, well I took the hint and moved on and out of nowhere I get an apology letter from her. How do I respond? She told me she is lost and it wasnt me it was her and she is now a mess. I just dont know what to say. I am a good person and a good friend to those in my life, but would I be playing the fool in accepting this apology and writing back to her?
How do you decide when to "cut" friends out of your life or end friendships (girls)?
It's difficult for me to have and maintain friendships with girls because I have trust issues and I have taught myself to be alone as a way to proctect myself. I know this has to do with my childhood experiences where I didn't have any female role models, parents were divorced, older cousins bullied me, girl friends betrayed me. But now I am much older, have worked through some of these issues, but i still have some friends I don't really like... They don't offer me anything, teach my anything new, are boring, think the same, want the same materialistic life...they are from the suburbs and are well off, I am from the city and know what it is like to struggle financially, i befriend people from all races and they stick to their own kind. I just feel like I don't relate to them, and they do not enjoy life to the fullest. But how can I end the friendships without hurting them? What would I say? Do my reasons even make sense? I don't feel they understand my true nature, and our values are different. They are not as spiritual. Can you share some stories about ending friendships (with girls)?

Should I stop being friends with these people?
I'm a recovering drug user and many of my friends still use drugs. It trigggers me to want to use them (and I usually do) again. Do you think I should stop contact with these people? They are the type of people who are not going far in life and tbh they aren't that great of people. They can be fun but they are backstabbing and they lie. I'm trying to become a better healthier person but it is hard when your group of friends is the homeless/failing school/druggie type. Since becoming friends with these type of people a lot of bad things have happened in my life. I am not saying it is their fault (it isn't) but if I want these things to stop do you think I need to stop communcation with them?

Well, I think you really do like it, because you are paying attention to it. I think she is just trying really hard to be your friend, and it sounds like she shouldn't because you sound like a brat. Maybe she thinks you are the one copying her. Some day when you girls grow up, you will realize the stupid things that kids do when they are young. You are an adolescent and you are trying to find your places in the world, and so is she. You think everyone is paying attention to everything that you are doing, but they really aren't. You have what they call a fortress identity. If you don't want her around then tell her, but be nice about it. Otherwise, let her be your friend, because she seems like she really would be a good friend. If you have a one true friend in this world, you are lucky, that is something you will also find out when you are older.
I have almost all kinds of people as friends...The crazy ones , the impulsive ones, the quiet types, the boasty ones, feminist, "forever alone", "my life sucks", "sunshine everywhere".. ... u name it .There are guys who would literally fall for any beautiful girl around . Girls who wud seem shy and reserved but not when they are with friends. Then u knw that these are the excited chirpy high-school types at heart who have lots of crushes on "shweet", "cuuute" and "haawwwt" guys ;)But please don't ask me who is the best !! We are all one or none ... We are complete only when we are together ... The noise, the quarrels , the sulking , the pacifying.. all this may sometimes get to my head and make me scream my throat out , but i will give up all the peace in my life if i am alone in exchange for all this . This is why we are happy to adjust 15-20 people in a single room and sleep together [yeah , that really happens ;) ]. all the friends i have are truely great ... apart from their crazy personalities, its their frankness i like the most . We respect each other and agree that a difference in opinion is acceptable because whatever we do [whether it turns out to be good or bad], it was done with the best of intentions at heart. We are very protective and wud go to any lengths to stand up for each other . Thanks for the A2A... I love all my friends and i am very lucky to have them all in my life.. guys, u all are best !! :)

She sounds like a really good friend! =] But for future reference... if you want people to like you, don't cut yourself down and tell them all the reasons they shouldn't be friends with you. It's really not going to help much! When people are looking for a friend, they don't care how thin or pretty or cool they are, or how fast they run. They look for someone who's fun to be around, someone they enjoy talking to, someone they can have a good time with. When people talk about how fat or ugly or lame they are, it's kind of annoying - and it makes people feel uncomfortable. It's no fun to be around someone who's always a downer. And honestly, if you keep telling someone that you're not good enough to be their friend, they may start to believe it. You want your friends to like you because you're a nice, fun person, right? Not because they feel sorry for you. So stop dwelling on the things you're insecure about, and focus on your good qualities. Let people see what a great person you are, and they'll like you for who you are!
