Why the f/ck do native Americans get exlsucive benefits?

READ BEFORE YOU INSULT ME!

Ok, i feel sorry for what happened to native Americans ALL those years ago. But, it was their ancestors who had to face the adversities and the troubles, NOT the Native Americans of today. I don't know why they get special treatment. Being conquered, it happens. Every nation has conquered at least one country in their history, weather recorded or not is a different story.

Should Macedonia pay benefits to all those countries that Alexander the great conquered? Should France apologize to all those countries Napoleon conquered? We need to leave the past in the past. We should learn about it, that is a MUST. But why must we overlap our past and present together. What happened 300 years ago, does not PERSONALLY effect the Native american people of today. History happened, it was sad. But now we must get over it. Also, what's with if you 1/6 or 1/8 Native ( don't know the exact percentage) you get to go to college for free. So wait. So if you have native down the line, you get to go to college for free, that's just prejudiced.

I'm not and AA so some of you can't say, ohhh but black we're enslaved, and they complain all the time. Well, no they don't. My people we're COLONIZED, i don't expect Italy or Spain to apologize to my country, or to give ME benefits, the past is in the past.

Also, before America had foreigners coming in. The native Americans we're only using a small % of America's lands. Barely tapping into the rich resources that this country has. Again, it wasn't THEM who experienced the pain. People have been conquered, their lands and people we're pillaged, it happens. Native Americans are NOT special.

Why are men asked to remove shirts before entering temples in South India?

Tamil Nadu and Kerala traditionally didn't have an upper garment for the male commoners. Men wore the dhoti for the bottom and simply had a towel - angavastra ("cloth to cover the limbs") for the top. While the aristocrats might have used richer upper garments, in religious contexts men wore nothing for the upper body. This probably was an adaptation for the hot, humid climate. Once you spend some time in a cauldron interior of a south Indian granite temple, you can see how humid things can be and how irritating the shirts become.Even today the orthodoxy - the priests and vedic scholars avoid wearing shirts. And they want to keep the tradition going for everyone when they visit the temple. In some places they get their way while in other places they don't. In Tamil Nadu, most of the temples have now stopped requiring people to remove the shirts. I find this decision quite practical and moving on with the times.

What problems do students face while living in college hostels?

I did my graduation from Delhi. There, I spent 4 years in a college hostel. The below answer is solely from my experiences and observations.Ragging. Yes. I don’t know about today but it was common then. “ Keep abusing that tube light until it explodes”. “Remove your clothes, let’s see what you got”. This list is endless.Anybody and everybody would knock the door of your room at any time. Yes, anytime. And mind you it’s never a knock. It’s a bang on the door. Sometimes, it’s done just to pass time.Birthday celebrations. Yes, birthday celebrations are one of the major problems faced by college students in hostel, mainly for two reasons. First, they are hit, so called out of affection, so badly that they almost reach a doctor. And secondly because, after this they have to give a huge party. Just imagine the plight!Indian toilets. Our hostel had only Indian toilets. And there were a few hostelers who were not accustomed to it. One guy could never adjust. Every morning he would take a rickshaw ride to the nearby McDonald’s to get himself relieved. Unbelievable, isn’t it?ATM. I was one. I was called so because I would succumb if one of my friends would say, “Brother, please give me 100 Rs. I will return it to you tomorrow”. And as they say, tomorrow never comes.Groupism. This is serious. First, the students from Bihar are looked down upon. And when they have no choice but to stay with other students from their own state, they are accused of groupism.Food. Groupism fails here. Everyone suffers equally :)Gym boys. If you are working out while living in a hostel, then food sucks even more. I have been a victim. But not now.
