They Say Men Usually Grow To Be About Their Dad

Is it weird for a grown man to call his father daddy?

I was in my friends house the other day and I overheard him call his father "daddy" several times. I didn't say anything out of respect to the father, but I was going crazy in my head and I almost busted out laughing.

Mind you my friend is 32 yrs old, married, straight, with a couple of kids. And he's what you would call a mans man. But I couldnt help but be shocked at this. I told him dude your a grown man, why the hell your calling your pops daddy? He said, his father likes to be refered to as that.

I don't know I thought it was weird. Am I wrong?

Are you taller than your dad? And do you think everybody grows taller than their dads?

I am! actually I am the tallest in the family my dad is 5′9 and I am 6'4 at night and in the morning 6'4.5 here is a pic of me and my father AKA my best friend :) as for your answer no I have friends and family who are guys and they are shorter than their dads. My best gift to those who are worried though Be blessed with who you are we are all Individually made through Christ special In Our own ways.

When do men grow their beard fully?

Well beard can start developing at really early stages of like 10 yrs or so, but that is vellus hair, at 16 or 17 you should have some good hair if not full goatee. I am 21 and i have good sideburns excellent goatee and i miss fuller neck beard and connectors. So dont worry if your father have good beard its very likely that you will have it too... Cheers, dont be depressed, you need to work with what you have, some pics would be helpful. Anyways be sure to check this friendly forum about beards. Register there and seek answer.

Will most women (men) really look like their mothers (fathers) when they grow old?

Not necessarily. In fact, you should look to a woman’s paternal grandmother.Males are designated by XY chromosomes, while females are designated by XX chromosomes. Males are merely carriers of the X chromosome, so they pass down the exact copy of their mother’s X chromosome to their daughters. Therefore, women inherit most genetic material from their paternal grandmother. My paternal grandmother had ten children and four sons, and though she died while I was very young (I was the youngest child of her youngest child), I can see this genetic factor amongst the many daughters of her sons. If you lined us all up, you would see how much we look alike. We all have similar slender builds as our 90lb grandmother for one thing! My cousins on my mother’s side do not even look like they’re related to me.Lifestyle factors make a huge difference as well. If you learned bad habits from your mother and continue them into adulthood, those would also affect aging and bodyweight. It’s interesting to get your 23andme testing done for these reasons. While my bodyweight was predicted, based on genetics, to be 14% lower than average, my actual weight was 25 lbs lower than what they predicted for me. They attributed this factor to lifestyle choices, and I do take careful care with my diet and exercise.Science aside, I have always joked that I turned into my father. We have the exact same personality.I think it’s best to remember that human choice is a huge factor in our destinies, in regards to anything.

Do all guys grow to their dad's height?

I'm a 15 year old male and the same height as my mom. Who is 5'7. I'm about 5'8. My father is 6'2-3 and his bro is 6'2-3. My Mom's bro is about 6'4-6'6. I feel really short for my age. But I don't have any under arm hair Nd no beard or mustache. So is their a chance I can get to my dad's height?

What would you do if you saw a grown man holding hands with a fourteen-year-old girl in public?

What makes you think a 14 year old wouldn't hold their fathers hand? You asked a question, people answered with what they would think first. You didn't say they were snuggling with each other or holding hands like a couple would. Plus some girls look older she could have been 10, who knows.

Why do some guys resist growing up when they become a dad?

There aren’t that many mature men out there. They are all worshiping material things and not procreating. They avoid it like the plague. Maybe because they want to still be single and keep their freedom. If they don’t have a God in their life, they are addicted to drugs, sex, money, gambling, alcohol, cigarettes, and you name it. If they are rich and have been raised by a heedless peer group or heedless parents, those guys are the last ones that some woman would want. My daughter found a good man. She went clubbing. That’s where a man clubs a woman and takes her back to his cave (joke). His mom died a young age and he had to learn how to cook and care for his brother and sister and dad. But he still graduated and became an engineer. My daughter was getting her “Masters” and substitute teaching and working part time. I did not divorce my kids. But I was co-dependent, no personality, stressed out, and my ex would delegate like mad. She lost her weight, got me, and gained it back. After 18 years of marriage, I had enough. I was headed for an early grave like my dad. I didn’t want to be like me dad, but I’m so very thankful I have some of my dad’s good qualities. I will tell you how to make a self-made man out of your man. Buy a house. Gut it. And rebuild it from the inside out. It’s a thousand projects. But I swear, I’m a very good man now. Yes, when I was married I got one of these trick skateboards and I was doing tricks down the driveway. I learned how to play golf and joined a Veteran’s Golf League. In a marriage, the guy needs a guys night out and the woman needs a woman’s night out and there should be a date night for both. Spiritual love in marriage is far different then lust, sex toys, immorality, and being a slave to the material world. The sex urge in marriage just happens. But then after she had me get fixed because she didn’t want any more kids, the sex went to hell and the finances went to hell and we grew apart. We didn’t have a date night. We didn’t go see a marriage counselor. I should have known. Kids say the darndest things. We were taking the kids home and they were saying their lines from their play: “Peter Pan” and their line was: “To the ship, to the ship.” Well, the night we were driving home both of my kids were saying: “To the shit, to the shit.”

Where do your "facial hair genes" come from? Your mom's side, or your dad's side?

I'm going to assume this is referring specifically to a beard and moustache. Most people who can grow a beard and moustache have a Y chromosome, which usually contains the genes that determine biological maleness. This can only be inherited from your father. However, the genes that determine the thickness, position, growth rate and colour of the beard have an equal chance of being inherited from either parent. It is possible that one of your parents has a more dominant gene for one of these traits, meaning the gene you inherit from them is more powerful than that of the other parent, but overall, no specific parent-in-law is responsible for my husband's inability to grow a flattering beard.
