Thickness Of The Ump 45

What is the difference between an automatic rifle and a machine gun?

The poster above is incorrect.

Submachine guns like the Uzi, MP5, or UMP fire pistol cartridges such as 9mm or .45 ACP, and are fed from a magazine.

Automatic rifles like the M16, FN-FAL, or AK-47 fire rifle cartridges such as 5.56x45mm, 7.62x51mm, or 7.62x39mm. These are also magazine fed weapons.

True machine guns are typically crew operated (although they can be operated individually) and fire ammunition that is fed through the receiver in long belts. Examples include the Browning M2 .50 cal, or the M249 squad assault weapon.

Can one kill bear in close distance with HK mp5?

Only if you are very, very lucky. While the MP5 has many variants, I am going to assume that you are using the standard 9mm in full-auto with a 30 round magazine.Using this weapon you will only kill an attacking bear if you get a lucky headshot with one of your early shots – magazine capacity is pointless because if you miss your first few shots you won't be getting any more. Full auto is also something of a hindrance in this situation because it will definitely reduce your accuracy.9mm is not a very hard-hitting round, your only chance of a kill is a headshot on a moving target (bears can run up to 35-40 mph). Bear skin and fur is very thick, and beneath it are many layers of tough muscle. A bear could take 30 rounds of 9mm to the body and probably still kill you. But in any case you probably only have a few seconds of time to shoot before the bear is on top of you, so with an MP5 that is probably only 5-10 rounds hitting the target before you are on the ground. 10 rounds of 9mm to a big bear is nothing more than bee stings.Your best chance of success against this animal is a large, powerful round that hits hard and makes a big hole. Lots of bleeding, lots of damage. A body full of 9mm might cause a ton of pain to the bear later but it won't do anything to stop the bear and save your life now. You need stopping power, and lots of it.In close quarters this means either a semi-automatic 12 gauge shotgun with slug loads, or a large calibre revolver like the .45 magnum or the .454 casull. These would be your best bear guns.

What is the highest caliber submachine gun?

This is a rather silly question. The size of the projectile is not what matters. Rifles use smaller caliber projectiles than pistols, yet because they put so much more pressure behind these projectiles, they are able to achieve vastly greater muzzle velocities than are possible from pistol cartridges. This is what makes rifles so much more effective at penetrating through body armor as well as so much more lethal. It has nothing to do with the size of the bullet, up until you get to the point that the projectile is carrying so much energy that it is able to effectively displace a considerable amount of mass from whatever it might happen to strike, such as in the case of .50 BMG.As such, the size of a pistol cartridge doesn’t matter after a certain point, which seems to be about .380 and beyond. At that point, all pistol calibers have roughly the same effectiveness statistically speaking, within margin of error. That being said, to answer your question, the largest caliber typically seen in submachine guns or pistol caliber carbines is .45 ACP. Off the top of my head, the Thompson M1, M3 Grease Gun, HK UMP, KRISS Vector, B&T APC, IMI Uzi, Ingram Model 6, and Ingram MAC-10 all either are chambered in .45 ACP or have/had variations available for sale in .45 ACP. There may be other designs that use larger calibers, but if there are, I don’t know about them, and they certainly haven’t achieved any widespread success.

How can you recognize a submachine gun from a distance?

In 1986, Congress enacted very strict laws, banning the possession and transfer of all machine guns except those manufactured prior to May 19, 1986, and machine guns possessed by or manufactured for governmental entities.Because of a 1934 law which was passed just after Bonnie and Clyde were killed, machine gun owners were required to pay a hefty tax, be fingerprinted, and be listed on a national registry. As a result, sales of machine guns plummeted. By the time the 1986 law was passed, there were very few machine guns in circulation. It is not easy to obtain one, and with all of the background checks, paperwork and licences involved they are pretty rare. For the most part, submachine guns have been replaced by assault rifles because they can shoot farther and are more powerful. However, some SWAT Teams and special forces still use submachine guns for close-quarter situations. So chances are, you may never see one.Submachine GunAssault Rifle/Machine Gun

Could the US president’s limo survive an RPG or anti-tank rocket?

Short version: it would not survive a direct hit, the armor is not thick enough (and it’s not even reactive armour). However, it does have countermeasures that make it harder to hit it, such as multi-spectrum infrared smoke grenades.Long version: There are 2 types of anti-missile (or rocket) systems: passive, and active. From Bullet-proof Barack-ade: Bond-style security protects President for visit to IrelandIn terms of passive system, the presidential limo has armour between 120 and 200 mm thick.[1][2] Since the armour seems to make use of steel, aluminum, titanium and ceramics, it is a composite armor. If we look at the penetration capabilities of an RPG-7 warhead, we can see that they range between 500 and 750mm, way more than the limo’s 200mm. The shortest penetration that an RPG-7 can achieve is 300mm of RHA armor, still above the limo’s[3] .From RPG-7 - Wikipedia.Besides, the bulletproof glass is certainly weaker than the armor, and that too is “only” 200mm thick.Hence, the presidential limo cannot withstand a direct impact from an RPG warhead. The car fares better in terms of active protection systems. Since it posses multi-spectrum infrared smoke grenades (according to [1]), the car can become a much harder target to shoot at. Once deployed, it would shield the car both visually (effective against RPG) and thermally (effective against more sophisticated anti-tank missiles). So to summarize, the limo cannot withstand a direct impact, but it can make it quite hard to achieve one.Besides, it’s not like the secret service is gonna stand there and watch. It would be extremely hard to conceal from all surveillance something as conspicuous as an RPG (or any other form or missile). Actually pulling it out and using it would be even harder.Footnotes[1] Bullet-proof Barack-ade: Bond-style security protects President for visit to Ireland[2] Presidential state car (United States) - Wikipedia[3] RPG-7 - Wikipedia

How many bullets in a magazine?

A magazine is an ammunition storage and feeding device within or attached to a repeating firearm. Magazines can be removable (detachable) or integral to the firearm. The magazine functions by moving the cartridges stored in the magazine into a position where they may be loaded into the chamber by the action of the firearm. The detachable magazine is often referred to as a clip, although this is technically inaccurate. Magazines come in many shapes and sizes, from those of bolt-action express rifles that hold only a few rounds to drum magazines for self-loading rifles that can hold as many as one hundred rounds. Various jurisdictions ban what they define as "high-capacity magazines"."Average" is a matter of opinion, and probably impossible to define. In regards to "regular" magazines, some 1911 style .45 pistol magazines hold 7 cartridges, some hold 8. Some 9mm pistol magazines hold 7 or 8, some hold as many as 16, many hold 10. Some .40 caliber pistol magazines hold 8 or 10, some hold 15. Then there are other calibers, and they all hold various numbers. During the notorious assault weapons ban, newly manufactured magazines in the U.S. were limited to 10 rounds, and because of that, some people consider 10 rounds to be average or they consider more than 10 rounds to be "hi capacity," but neither one of those is really correct.
