Things The Are Reported To Credit

What date "counts" on your credit report? Date debt incurred?, date sent to collections? or date paid off?

I have a medical bill that was incurred in 2003. It shows opened in 10/04 - (wrong because I didn't even live in that city by then). Then it shows submitted to collection in 02/05. My mortgage person is concerned with the 02/05. I am planning on making the collection agency validate this debt prior to offering payment.
How should this be reported? Does it go from the date of the hospital stay, the date the collection agency got it (almost two years later) or from the date I pay this debt?
Thanks for your help!

I had 26 items removed from my credit reports how much will points will it jump up to?

Perhaps your credit score will not increase even if 26 items were removed from your credit file. Because credit scores are given based on merit and credit usage history; not based on how many items we have listed or removed from our files. However, things to consider would be if there is still a negative account in your file then that would put a great delay. But the fact that you were able to remove those items are very good news because most people have the miscomception that just because they open a dispute with the credit Bureus, the negatives accounts will be removed and many people cannot acomplish that. Now that you have removed those 26 negative items off your credit report the next thing to do is to open up a credit card or get a loan, even a small loan. Make payments on time and that is how you will start seeing your credit score go up.However, there may still be a lingering issue that will prevent you from making any progress since there is more than 1 credit reporting Bereau agency and unfortunately, the credit Berueus have been allowed to do whatever they want. So the fact that you were able to take off 26 negative items does not mean that those 26 negative items were revomed from the other credit reporting agencies database so I would recommed you tk pull out your credit report from the other credit reporting agecies as well.

Car dealership hasn't reported to credit bureaus - What are my options?

If state they report to all 3 credit bureaus, they go back there and request them to run the reports to verify it's being reported. If they refuse to do so, then you can file a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission toll free @ 1-877 382-4357

Does renting a storage unit help you build credit? or is it not reported?

Rent (apartment or storage), utilities, and similar bills are not extensions of credit and are not reported to the credit bureaus unless you default and the debt is turned to a collection agency. The collection agency would report the debt.

Credit cards and loans are needed to build your credit.

What happens if you buy something with your credit card but then report the card stolen?

I am NOT doing this myself. Nor do i know someone who is. I was listening to the song "Hell yeah" by Th Dead Prez and Jay Z. In the song they say that they are going to get credit cards, buy a bunch of stuff and then report the cards stolen. My question is, If someone bought something online for say... under $500 and then reported the card stolen and told the credit compant that they werent the person that bought the item, what would happen? Wouldnt the credit company just track the internet information and see that the item was shipped to your house and that your lying? or would you get to keep the item and not have to pay for it? After hearing the song me and my buddy were debating if such a method was possible. sorry for such a wordy question. I think the credit company would see that it was bought on your computer, sent to your house and then the card was reported stolen and they would just make you pay it anyway and possibly nail you with fraud. right?
And again, i am not trying to jip any companys out of money, i have a good credit history and im only 21. Id like to keep it that was as things are going extremely well for me.
