Things To Do In Denver When You

The amusement parks and Waterworld are not open yet. If you like outdoor stuff...drive up to Rky Mountain national park and stop at the visitors center to get info on things to so. What are the best things about Denver?

I don’t know that I can tell you the best things about Denver, but I certainly have insight on why I love Denver. My infatuation with this city began when I was in high school. Attending concerts was my friends and I’s favorite thing to do, and being from a small town east of Denver, it felt cool to get out of Strasburg, hang out in the “big city”, and rock out to bands that most of our classmates would only find out about months after we had already inhaled their air. That all made me fall in love with the idea of Denver. I knew I had to be part of it.Fast forward after finishing my Associates degree at community college, and I was attending CU Denver. That’s when I truly began to appreciate the physical traits of the city—I was able to experience it on foot, wandering down different city blocks each week and popping into different shops and restaurants just to experience my city. It was the first time where if I wanted something, I could walk to get it. I was also taking the lightrail daily either to class or to work, which somehow shaped my experience. During my senior year I accepted an internship at the State Capitol, and then graduated and accepted a full time position. That’s when everything really began to feel like home. I still loved the excitement of being able to pop into my favorite craft coffee shop whenever I wanted, or to take my (new at the time) boyfriend to my favorite pizza place on Larimer, but that’s when my love for Denver revolved around the internal aspects. Rather than feeling like a giddy tourist, I felt like I was woven into the space around me. Both are nice feelings, just unique of each other. We’re a booming, growing city, which means that every day you have the opportunity to shape some small part of where you live, if you choose to do so. Nothing feels stagnant. I always feel that I’m surrounded by innovative and wise people trying to build a better place. There is entertainment to fulfill any desire, we’re home to the Super Bowl Champions, and within reasonable distance of mountains galore. It’s not strange to skip happy hour in place of a run through the park. Common interests abound.I hope to experience at least one other place as home someday. We aren’t the biggest, busiest city, but I’ll sure miss the heck out of this place.Edit: (Also we have great weather and beer. I can’t believe I forgot to mention the weather.)

Will I like living in Denver?

I'm seriously contemplating moving to the Denver area soon. I'd be living in a suburb (Englewood) but probably working in Denver proper. I currently live in a small community in a neighboring state and am nervous about my move. I've visited Denver a few times but living somewhere and visiting are different things. For all of you in the Denver area, can you please give me some tips? What are the pros and cons? Are people there friendly? I'd appreciate any info. Thanks!
