Things To Do In Florida Other Than Disney

What are some fun things to do in Orlando Florida?

Aside from the main theme parks (Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure) and the main water parks (Aquatica, Wet 'n' Wild, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon), there are plenty of other things to do in Orlando and the surrounding area. There are dinner shows like Medieval Times (my personal favorite), Sleuths, Arabian Nights, etc. There are museums like Ripley's Believe it or Not and Wonderworks. There are plenty of outlet malls for shopping. You can take helicopter and plane tours over the city. There is Gatorland, several carnival-style amusement parks, regular and mini-golf courses, indoor skydiving, airboat tours (you'll have to travel a little outside Orlando for those). About 45 minutes away is Kennedy Space Center, it's a lot of fun in my opinion; and about 15-20 minutes from the space center is Cocoa Beach, a great little town with a fun beach.

What are some different things to do in Orlando, Florida (other than Disney World, Universal Studios, etc.)?

Have you seen Things to Do in Orlando - Theme Parks, Attractions | Visit Orlando?   Despite the way the URL resolves here it lists other things than the Theme Parks.

Things to do while in Orlando, FL?

Visit the charming town of Winter Park. Walk around the town of Celebration. Visit Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island for party. Belz outlet and Premium outlet stores for shopping brand names at discounts. Universal has a street for partying. Visit cool hotels just to hang out: Gaylord Palms, Marriot, Ritz-Carlton, etc. Go to Millenia Mall. Tour a timeshare but don't get sold on one and get a gift. Go horseback riding in a stable. Take a swamp tour. Go to one of those U-pick Oranges along U.S. 27 towards Clermont. Go to Barnes and Noble and pick up one of those guides they have by Joan Lundquist Scalpone. Have fun!

Beaches near Walt Disney World, Florida!!Help?

Orlando's in the middle of Florida...

Lots of people go to New Smyrna Beach, but if your looking for Atlantic beaches, I prefer Melbourne or Cocoa Beach.

But, if your a tourist here, I say you might as well go to St. Petersburg near Tampa, about 2 hours away, for a real good beach.

What is the big deal about disney world?

i have asked myself this very question i don't know how many times, yet every year we end up at disney. we have gone every year (sometimes twice) since my oldest son, who is now 14, was a baby. well, every year but one year and the whole time were on vacation that year we kept saying "gosh, i miss not going to disneyworld this year". i think disney has done themselves a disservice by raising the prices like they have. we only visit the magic kingdom when we go there now. we do other things disney though....mini-golfing, shopping, etc. they no longer get our hotel money because we bought a timeshare we can use in orlando. for us, i think it's the general feel of the park and area. of course, it being warm there while it's still cold where we're from doesn't hurt any either! of course, you work there. that's probably why you don't see it as a place to love. i used to work in a casino. to this day i won't go to a casino because i couldn't understand the hype. you don't want to visit the place you see everyday!

WHICH IS BETTER SEA WORLD OR DISNEY WORLD OR DO YOU HAVE A BETTER PLACE IN ORLANDO TO GO?

Great choice that your visiting Orlando! :)
There are many parks to choose from within the area-

Universal Studios, loads of great rides. Website - http://www.universalorlando.com/

Island of Adventure, next to Universal also a lot of great rides. Website - http://www.universalorlando.com/amusement-parks/islands-of-adventure.html

Seaworld has lots of animal encounters and has 4 good rides so you can see the animals and ride the coasters. Website - http://www.seaworld.com/orlando/

Now to the Disney parks -

Walt Disney, everyone in the world would love to visit here! Great for photo opportunity's and great rides for all! Website - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdwi/en_GB/parks/parkLanding?id=MKLandingPage

Epcot, great park - a lot of amazing rides and you can visit the country's all over the world! Website - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdwi/en_GB/parks/parkLanding?id=EPLandingPage

Hollywood Studios [Originally MGM], I haven't actually been here but it's supposed to be really good, with amazing rides, good for teens and older. Website - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdwi/en_GB/parks/parkLanding?id=MGMLandingPage

Animal Kingdom, this would be ideal if your looking for rides and the animals. Website - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdwi/en_GB/parks/parkLanding?id=AKLandingPage

When you visit Disney you can buy a hopper pass, which ables you to visit 2 of the 4 parks in one day, for example, in the morning you can visit Animal Kingdom and in the afternoon you can switch to Epcot, I believe it costs like $150 or around that.

I personally love all of the parks [apart from MGM as I haven't visited] but Universal Studios is my favorite park ever! I went 12 out of the 14 days I was last in Orlando it was so good.
Well I hope this helps you!
Have fun xo
