Thinking About Finally Watching Mls. No Local Teams. What

Is there a MLS or NASL team in your city?

of course most of us live in the USA and it might be hard for us to travel to Mexico frequently to watch our favorite teams play but there is the MLS here in the states and i know the MLS gets a lot of hate of how it sucks compared to the Mexican league but is there anyone here who follows or supports their local team?

I live in San Antonio and we are finally getting a team they will be in the NASL im not expecting much from them they only have a good squad on paper but this team could be a little something extra to waste time at and there is no way im turning down an easy opportunity to watch a football
match

they have a preseason against dorados haha looks like they are making a big deal out of it since Blanco plays there

Why are American people not interested with football games?

Since you’re asking this on Super Bowl Sunday, a holiday of American football when even those who don’t care about the sport watch if only for the commercials, I assume you are inquiring about American attitudes towards what we call “soccer” and the rest of the world calls “football.”It’s a good question since many Americans grow up playing the sport in grade school and high school. But attempts at sustaining that popularity into college and into the professional spheres have failed numerous times. This article provides 15 reasons why the sport isn’t popular here:Top 15 Reasons Soccer Is Not a Major U.S. SportSome of the reasons like “too many turnovers” doesn’t make sense to me since the same can be said about basketball yet that sport is incredibly popular. And the numerous stoppages are common in American football. It’s so bad that NFL is looking into speeding up the game.Personally I think it’s a chicken-egg issue. There are no popular professional sports teams that draw viewers and inspire kids to play. Of course the reason why we don’t have popular sports teams is that there aren’t enough viewers and young people interested in the sport. Also the professional sport is dominated by European and South American players. Americans don’t have the support infrastructure of coaches at all levels of the sport, especially in college play, that create competitive local players. It’s not that Americans are xenophobic, it’s just that a strong draw of our sports is the local nature of it. American love “local boys done good” type stories. Finally I think the sport draws from the same viewers as American football. If American football wasn’t around I would expect people to watch soccer. As people become increasingly concerned about the injuries suffered by American football players, it may only be a question of time before they begin to switch to soccer.

When can we expect the U.S. men's soccer team to win a World Cup?

About the same time that Hell freezes over. The US men's football team is ranked thirty-fourth in the world.*To have a chance of winning an incredibly competitive competition like the World Cup the USA is going to have to: Move up at least two dozen places in the rankings and maintain that position. That would involve regularly beating the best teams in the world.Have a squad full of players who are all playing in the best leagues in the world - e.g. the English Premier League, the Bundesliga, the Italian Serie A, the Spanish La Liga.Have several players who are regarded individually as amongst the best players in the world.None of those factors are in place or even look likely to be in place anytime soon. Without them the USA is absolutely nowhere near being able to challenge for the World Cup.On top of that, winning the World Cup requires huge luck. Even if the US team was a great team and capable of competing, there are a lot of other really, really good teams around. Some incredibly good teams didn't win the world cup - 1970s Holland for example.I don't expect to see the USA in the World Cup final, let alone winning, in my lifetime. If they could get to the semi-final that would be an amazing achievement.* See The FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking - Ranking Table - FIFA.com

Why do people in the USA prefer American football over soccer? Why do they find soccer relatively boring?

Violence.Make no mistake, as terrible as this picture appears, the savage intent behind the actions that caused this tackle aren't even really given their due. A collision like this happens in soccer every once in a while on accident. In football, it's what everybody is waiting for. The fans, the owners, the camera crews, the people who put together the highlight reels for the analysis shows afterward, and most of all - the players. If this happened in soccer or basketball, it would likely be a major violation of the rules. In football, this is a sanctioned tackle. This event, where one impressively stout gentleman is clearly getting hit hard enough by another to have actually knocked his helmet off, forced him to lose muscle control of the ball he was carrying, and get a slack, concussed look on his face, is all by design. The tackler in this picture dreamt about making a hit like this. He was thinking about it the whole time he was lining up for a play, right up until it happened. And then, he was a god. For a little while, until the next play, when he's going to try and do it again. The average American football player is about five inches taller than your average soccer player and weighs about sixty more pounds. And they're paid to get up to speed instantly and launch themselves with explosive force at each other. This is what football is about, and although it has its moments of athletic grace, it’s basically conceded the subtle beauty of skillful and elegant play to sports like soccer and basketball. Football is a brutal sport played enthusiastically by brutal men who brutalize each other. It’s gloriously, unapologetically savage, and we cant get enough of it.

Why do they stop serving beer after the seventh inning?

It originated when they had too many accidents after baseball games on the highway. After some testing, they finally discovered that over 95% of the crashes had to do with drunk driving. (ironic, isn't it?) Therefore, they stopped selling beer after the 7th inning. This is also because they don't want people near the outfield going crazy and ruining the game. If you think about it, it is very logical.

I really hope this helps you understand this very confusing method. Have fun at your future baseball games!

Could Major League Soccer (MLS) be on par with European leagues like La Liga or the British Premier League within the next decade? Why or why not?

The Mayor league soccer (MLS) in its short time is developing fast and attracting a worldwide attention that in a decade or so, it can compete with other top European leagues. You may find it very hard to believe, but its a fact that in the USA, soccer is now the most popular sport among teenagers from 9- 15 years.Yes you heard me well. Its not baseball, American football, nor basketball, but soccer that is the fastest growing sports in America. This is all it takes for the game to become popular and develop fast. When there is grassroot development, scouting of young players from their prime, creating soccer academy in all states and counties of the federation, incorporating soccer at all levels in schools and making college soccer as lucrative as they have done in college basketball. If all these is done, then it will only take a decade to make MLS as strong and competitive as any top European leagues. We all know that most European clubs have a history of more than a 100 years of existence. Some English football clubs have been founded as far back as 1868.And you cant compare it with most MLS clubs that are barely 20 years old. Also the leagues in most European countries are very old and has been developed with time. But the rate that the MLS is going with its massive development and popularity, it won't be long before they will get there. Conclusion:The U.S are world powers, and when they put their might and strength into any sport or league, it is bound to be successful. So expect more from the MLS and see the massive transformation that will happen in the next decade- it will literally blow our minds. Thanks for reading.Get more stories from our site (footballvirus)Welcome To FootballVirus | Football News, Fixtures, Scores, Results, Transfers And Predictions
