This Does Not Make Sense Does It

When does math not make sense?

My favourite example: if five people walk out of a room of three in total and two walk back in the room is empty. In math this is the vaild calculation: [math]3-5+2=0[/math]. This an example of Robbies point:When it’s misapplied.

The data set is 62, 46, 68, 64,57...Why does it not make sense to construct a histogram for this data set?

I could name and explain A,B and C, as well as a few others.

A. The data set is so small that no overall distribution can be seen.

C. There are no class boundaries. We are given the y-value coordinate of these values but no associated x-values. There is no way to know if these are strictly categorical, or if they are intervals. And because of that fact, we dont know what order to place the histogram bars in. Should the score with the value of 46 come at the left, or should it come somewhere else? And why? Again, because the order of this data is unknown, no overall distribution can be seen (validating B)

I would also point out that these values are large, placing the top of the histogram bars far above the x-axis. But the scores themselves are relatively similar, they all focus narrowly about a mean. If you produced a full histogram, you probably wouldnt be able to see any variation. If you skipped over the small vales near 0 and just plotted the values >50, say, you wouldnt get a very good idea of the relationships that exist.

Does this make sense?

Many people are shy at first, you are not the only one.
You will make mistakes, they will be the same mistakes everyone before you has made. Its part of your training to make them, as you make mistakes you will learn from them.
Many people are scared their first sparing match and some are not, this is natural dont be over concerned, You only lose when you don't learn from sparing.

One of my teachers always use to say There are three things you must do every class.
1- You must have fun
2- You must learn something new
3- You must make new friends.

What doesn't make sense to you?

How do we know that the quantum world doesn't make sense?

Maybe we're not asking the right questions, or using a powerful enough microscope? It is what it is- not a maybe, a probability, or a 1/2 existence- otherwise it wouldn't be.

The very small is the foundation- and, clearly, we can measure and (mostly) figure out things on our scale.

Is there a better way to ask "does that make sense"?

# “Do You Understand?” vs. “ Am I Making Sense?”To me, “Do you understand?” – with its accusatory mid-sentence “you”– is an easy way to make the other person feel upset/angry/ashamed/inferior. From where I sit, its subtext is, “Are you smart enough to follow this or do I need to tell you again in words of one syllable?”“Am I making sense?” on the other hand—with its lovely mid-sentence “I”—demonstrates your willingness to take the onus for the clarity of the conversation on yourself. It leaves the other person with a choice. He or she can say, “Yes, indeed,” but there is also room for them to say, “Actually, X doesn’t make sense….May I ask you to explain it again?”~~# Never Ask ‘Does That Make Sense?’ #PresentationsThere are two potential meanings here.• Uncertainty on the part of the speaker about the accuracy or credibility of the content• Doubt about the ability of the audience to comprehend or appreciate the content.Instead of casting negativity on the content or the audience, all a speaker has to say is:“Do you have any questions?”“Use definite, specific, concrete language.” To accomplish this you must diligently delete meaningless words and phrases from your speech, a task easier said than done due to their pervasiveness.~~# Is there a better way to ask "does that make sense"?If you have are answering a question, then instead it is better to say “Does this answer your question?”Also, more authoritative is “Is that clear to you?”Or you can simply say“What do you think?”“Do you have any questions?”~~# Why “Does That Make Sense?” Is the Worst Question You Can Ask in Sales“Does that make sense” is a phrase that creates uncertainty and doubt instead of being reassuring. It can imply that the other party is obliged to understand what was said.A better phrase to use is “How does that sound to you?”

Why does it not make sense to talk about the wavelength of white light?

White is not a separate color with its own wavelength.
White light is all the colors mixed together.
When all the colors arrive at once, we see white.

Why does structure H-C=C-H not make sense chemically?

Probably because the carbons here don't have 8 valence electrons satisfied. Right now each carbon has 6 valence electrons. So it's not stable. You would need 2 hydrogens on each of the carbons in order for it to make sense.

What does the expression, "It doesn't make sense," mean?

Let’s refer to “it,” as a proposed answer to a question/unknown, specific to a topic of discussion/debate, in which one or more parties are actively analyzing (or observing the analysis of) all available information on the topic, with the intent of determining the answer (solution /explanation) deemed accurate in addressing the question. An answer deemed “accurate,” will “make sense,” due to supporting evidence containing little to no uncertainty/inaccuracy (relative to any/all other possible solutions), and, when supporting evidence is objectively analyzed by any/all parties, within the context of all available information, the answer (supported by this evidence) is irrefutable by any/all parties, relative to any/all other possible answers.A proposed answer that doesn’t “make sense,” has likely been formulated on the basis of inaccurate/incomplete supporting evidence. When analyzed within the context of all available information, and/or relative to any/all other possible solutions, the proposed answer can be refuted, and thus, it doesn’t make sense in addressing the specific question.
