My company have 90 days notice period but my new organization giving my 30 days to join. What will happen if I don't serve the notice period?

Hello there, It’s ideal to leave your current organization in good terms without burning the bridges. Some options you have now areTalk to your current HR and your Reporting Manager and request them to reduce your notice period. If step one fails, talk to the organization that has offered you and explain to them that your present organization will not relieve you in 30 days despite your best effortsTry adjusting your leaves against your notice and request a buy back while negotiating with the offering organization for buying your notice (while in most cases this is not going to be a big issue, they’ll have you sign a bond with you having to repay the amount should you have to leave the new company within a stipulated timeframe)Personally, there have been a couple of instances for my friends and me when the offering organization has asked us to just abscond and join them. This is a strict NO. Since you can never quote this experience in your resume, you’ll have major consequences when you hop to the next company who may not take the void in your resume lightly. Some may not even call you for an interview. If you’re going to fight your current company (some have quoted the legal frame work et al), be prepared to burn brigdes with your current company for everIMHO, it’s best to stick to the first three steps and talk to both companies and do everything with a clear consensus with both of them. I’m still wondering why you didn’t talk about this during your interview.Cheers!

Singapore allows Malaysians to stay in the country for 30 days. Can I re-enter Singapore to get another 30 days stay after staying a day in Malaysia?

Singapore ICA is incredibly relaxed about Malaysians, and it is not difficult to do visa runs, if that is your question.A couple of years ago, my bank shut down my department, and I had to leave Singapore (in theory at least) after thirty days, as I was an Employment Pass Holder. My Permanent Employment Pass application, which would have allowed me to extend my job search in Singapore for 6 months, was being processed.I researched the rules carefully when I was leaving the country, and made sure I had a return ticket to Hong Kong (I am a Permanent Resident of Hong Kong) and so forth when I left Singapore to interview for a role in Hongkers. At the airport, on the way to HK, I asked the ICA officer if he wanted to view my various tickets in and out of Singapore, and he just laughed and said, not in quite so many words: ‘Dude, you are Malaysian Chinese, and we both know you could just take a bus to Johor and renew your visit pass for 30 days - we dont ask Malaysians for return tickets to country of origin.’I hope that answers your question.

If 20 men take 30 days to complete a job, in how many days can 25 men complete the same job?

Always go step by step for easily understanding.20 men —30 days1 man - 30*20 days=600 days25 men=600/25 days=24 daysSo 25 men require 24 days to complete that job.

Singapore allows foreigners to stay in the country for 30 days without a visa. Does this mean 30 days per visit or 30 days per year?

Depending on your nationality, you can visit Singapore for 30 or 90 days, and this is counted from the day that you enter the country (with the first full day being the day after you enter).  When leaving Singapore, the timer stops, and entering Singapore again resets it for another 30 or 90 days, which means that you're entitled to a 30/90-day stay per visit, with no limits on how many times you would like to visit the country.Visa runs are common between Malaysia and Singapore, since the timer resets accordingly when exiting one country and entering another.  A popular option would be to leave Singapore via the Singapore-Johor Causeway, spend a day in Johor Bahru to do some shopping or to see Legoland Malaysia, and then go back to Singapore for another 30/90 days.

How long can the gap between OPT start date and actual job start date be? Or does it even matter?

I have earlier written a very detailed answer on OPT and EAD procedural requirements and I will try to pull that one and post it. Meanwhile, all F1 students should remember the following;F1 visa holders can apply for EAD under OPT , 90 days prior to program-end date and upto 60 days after the program end date thru DSO ( Designated Student Official) of the University.Normally it takes about 75 days to 120 days to get the EAD issued. If you are lucky to get your full-time job, before graduation, care should be taken to get the work-start date with the new employer giving sufficient time for the formalities to be completed with regard to EAD under OPT.Employers may have their restrictions in having the work-start date. In certain cases, they may even postpone their start date due to certain reasons. They may have work start date only once in a month, say on the first Monday and so on.In case you are not lucky to get full time job, every efffort should be made to postpone your program end date , that is graduating. It may not be possible always. Then you need to apply for EAD, within 60 days after the program end date. You cannot remain unemployed for more than 90 days during your OPT after the start date mentioned in the EAD. ( But this does not include 10days between finish of one job and starting of another job). ( STEM OPT holders also get additional 30 days unemployment period during their STEM Extension period). If, for any reason, there is likely to be more than 90days gap between the EAD start date and work start date, efforts should be made to do volunteer work or unpaid intern( without violation of labour laws) during this period at least for 20 hours a week and maintain records for the same. You should also take advantage of employers filing your H1B prior to your graduation date and prior to your work-start date, for those of you who are fortunate to have a full time job prior to graduation. They should obtain necessary documentation to the effect that courses have been completed for the necessary graduation, so that employers can file your H1B on 1st of April. ( those of you graduating in May).Ramamurthy Guruvayurappan's answer to When should you apply for OPT (Optional Practical Training)?

How can i maintain a credit utilization below 30 percent when my limit is $300 and my bills are higher.?

i want to maintain a credit utilization below 30 percent. however my limit is $300. if I pay lets say on a $250 bill $90 then pay off the $90 balance on my card, then pay another $90 using my card, so on until the bill is payed. will my credit utilization still be 30 percent or is every single transaction in the month irrespective of when I pay it off, still counts toward my debt to credit ration.

A is thrice as good a workman as B and hence is able to finish a job in 60 days less than B. Working together, they can finish it in how many days?

Efficiency and Number of days taken are inversely proportional to each other.Assume number of days taken by A =x days, then number of days taken by B =3x days (as A is thrice as efficient as B).According to the question,3x - x = 60 days, hence x = 30 daysSO, number of days taken by A = 30 days, and number of days taken by B = 90 daysAssume total units of work = LCM (30 , 90) units = 90 unitsSo, work done by A in one day = (90/30) = 3 units per day ANDwork done by B in one day = (90/90) = 1 unit per day.Hence total units done by both A and B together in one day = 4 units per daySo, total number of days taken by both of them = Total work / Number of units done in one day = 90 / 4 = 22.5 days.Books written by me for CAT prep:Available On Amazon:
