This may sound silly, but am I technically engaged?
My boyfriend and I have discussed at length our intentions for our future together, including marriage, children, houses, pets, career aspirations and all the rest. He has explicitly told me (as well as his mother) that he wants to marry me, and has asked if I will spend the rest of my life with him. Being madly in love with him, as well as 100% positive that he is indeed the man I want to marry, of course I've responded that I would love nothing more than to be his wife. While I would undoubtedly consider us in a committed relationship, I would not consider us engaged, perhaps because I know my family would not approve at this point (I am an almost 18 year old freshman in college) and because while we do intend to marry after I have graduated (at 21, he is graduating college this year) we are not actively planning a wedding. However, I've had several friends that technically, I am engaged because he asked if I would marry him, and I said yes. The distinction is of some importance to me, because (like most), I look forward to making that phone call to the folks announcing our engagement. However, we hadn't planned on doing so for at least another few years. What's your opinion?

I know this may sound silly but what is a 'runt'. I bought a Jack Russell 5 weeks ago (he is now 16 weeks) he is extremely small compared to the other pups in his litter and his parents were not particularly small for their size. This makes him a 'runt' but I have no idea what that means, is it a bad mean?

There is a possibility of a Pre-PIE based upon the theory of The Kebarans, or Kebarians, an archaeological culture in the eastern Mediterranean area, named after its type site, the Kebara Cave south of Haifa in Yisrael. The Kebarian were a highly mobile nomadic population, composed of hunters and gatherers in the Levant and Sinai areas who used microlithic tools and they seem to have migrated to the Middle East from the Horn of Africa, actual Ethiopia and Somalia. There are several theories about that. So, It is likely that they used an older form of PIE, or Pre-PIE. ... However, Linguistically speaking It is more likely that the accepted ten known branches of Indo-European languages are more related to Semitic and or Caucasus languages than to the Uralic.
This may sound silly.. but can one use coconut oil for oil painting?
The oils used in oil painting must be drying oils... in other words, they must harden in a short amount of time. Some oils never harden - and if they don't, the painting will never dry and be subject to smearing as well as absorbing pollutants. Also, some oils darken greatly over time. This will affect your colours and possibly ruin your painting. If you don't know the properties of the oils you use, you could compromise a great piece of art. You also compromise your reputation as an artist.

Bears do not preferentially prey on humans. Attacks on humans are almost always to get at food we have in our pockets/nearby (particularly from black bears) or because they were startled or protecting something when we appeared suddenly (particularly with brown/grizzly bears).Bear bells are so you don’t end up doing something like startling a bear with cubs (the way many fatal attacks start). Making a lot of noise is also a way to signal that you aren’t afraid of anything and aren’t hunting - only stupid predators make noise while hunting, only stupid prey make noise when there are predators around. Making noise in nature is therefore seen as a way of advertising that you plan on not participating in the food chain today, thank you. A bear is less likely to see you are prey if you aren’t acting like prey (this is also why running away is foolish).Using bear-proof food storage devices when camping is also important so that bears learn that humans, even though they smell like food, are not a source of food.The combination means that the two major reasons for bear-human conflicts are avoided. Use your bear bells and use your bear-proof boxes or food lifts and then enjoy the non-startled bear if you see it going about it’s life in the distance.
What flavor does paprika have??? I know that may sound silly, but i always thought it has no taste... is it?
If you try the taste right out of the can, it doesn't seem to have much flavor. But, when you cook with it, the flavors open up and are quite distinct. It also loses its flavor over time, so replace it at least every six months. Remember, it's dried and ground peppers, and all dried spices need to be cooked to impart their flavor. Hungarian paprika is best known, but I think the Spanish is better.
