Thoughts On My Fave 4 Firstnames For Each Gender

I have just fallen in-love with an androgynous name: Jaden. But how would you spell it?

First off, I love the name! This is ONLY my opinion but this is how I would approach it....if the baby is a boy spell the name JADEN, if the little one is a girl spell the name JAYDEN. Not sure why but when you add the "y" it looks more feminine.

Most importantly, do not ever let anyone tell you that they don't like the name nor should you allow anyone to make a face when you tell them the name. I have a 2 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. My husband named my son (Jake Edward) and I absolutely loved the name...so much so that I wanted him to name our daughter. I was only 4 months prego when we found out it was a girl and well he did it again, picked a great name! But every time someone, strangers included, asked if we picked a name and I told them I got the most insulting and hurtful comments and looks! I say screw em all! If you love the name (and I do too) that is all that matters...by the way my daughters name is Josie and she is so flipping cute and really couldn't be any other name!

Good luck sweetie! And again, great name!

The name Emersyn for a girl?

I recently met a little girl named Emersyn and fell in love with the name. I know some people think it is ugly, or associate it with a boys name, but let's face it, surnames and gender-neautral names are popular. I have read comments elsewhere that say "It's just rude to name your daughter Emersyn/Emerson because it is a boys name/surname", but honestly, TONS of common girls names started as surnames and boys names, and I think the name Emerson for a girl might be on the rise. I have only heard it once, but I have not heard anyone else that knows her talk about her name being ugly. In fact, most of the people I have talked to about it think it's cute.
So, what do you think? BTW, I don't need to hear any rude comments about liking the name.

How do you tell the gender of a cat without looking to its genitalia?

You can’t determine a cat’s gender with 100% certainty without looking at their genitalia. However, you can make educated guesses on some cats. For instance:Over 99% of all calicos and tortoiseshell cats are females. Males do exist, but they are very rare.About 75% of all orange tabbies are male.A cat with large, round jowls — basically cheeks that look too big for their face is likely a male that is either currently intact or was neutered later in life. Like this guy:If you encounter a cat that is uncharacteristically vocal, attention-seeking, and is constantly sticking their butt up in the air while pulling the tail to the side, you’re likely looking at an intact female in heat. Like this:If you see a cat with a large udder, you’re likely looking at an intact female who is going to give birth shortly or has recently given birth. If you see a cat with a litter of kittens you’re likely looking at an intact female.Aside from those signs, I can’t think of anything else off the top of my head that would enable you to make a truly educated guess.

What do you think of the names we chose?

So my fiancee and I just found out that we're going to have a baby. We picked our 4 favorite names for both gender and had our best friend draw the the papers. The names that were randomly picked were Aeronwenn Lorilie Jordanna {for a girl} and Samuel Wolfe {for a boy}. We agreed that the first names picked would be the names we stuck with, even though we had already decided, before we decided to randomly draw the names, that we were going to name our first daughter Kahlia Selicia and our first son Samuel Wolfe, so Samuel Wolfe is pretty much set for our first boy. However, the girl still has some thinking involved.

What do you think about these names? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

PS. We don't know yet even how far along I am, much less if the baby is a boy or girl.

What do you think of the name Harris for a girl?

1. Everyone will think she's a boy. The shortened version of my first name is unisex, and believe me, it's very annoying when you're female and half your mail is addressed to 'Mr...'

2. Where I come from, your 'Harris' is a slang word for your behind. So, I just laughed out loud at the idea of you calling your daughter, essentially, 'Butt'.

3. It sounds like you're trying waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard to be unique, but have just ended up sounding ridiculous. Plus, surnames as first names are SO overdone and trendy at the moment that her name will become dated really quickly.

4. Helen's nice, though.
