Thrillers About Child Abductions

Name of a thriller suspense movie/ TV movie?

Some details about this movie/ TV movie:

The movie stars Brian Dennehy who plays a cop/ private detective. He comes to the city to help his young female friend/ daughter (not sure). She has been stalked and attacked by a man who is a master in illusion and can camouflage himself excellently.

1. One of the scenes in the movie - Brian Dennehy arrives in the city in a bus, as soon as he gets of, he hugs his female friend/ daughter (not sure) who he is going to help.

2. One of the scenes in the movie - The man camouflages himself exactly as the wall paper/ sofa/ carpet in the girl's room that neither she nor Brain notices. Brian is ready to shoot but cannot see the man in the room.

At first I thought the movie was F/X - Murder by Illusion (1986) and F/X 2 - The Deadly Art of Illusion (1991) both with Bryan Brown. But both these movie's story do not match the one I am talking about above.

Does anyone know the name of the movie/ TV movie I am talking about ?

Thanks,
Piyush

Why did the Dad get killed and why was the child kidnapped in Flightplan?

This is the best explanation I have found::

I think the reason Julia was kidnapped is so that when Kyle started searching for her missing daughter, she would freak out and become a suspicious passenger almost immediately. After the passnegers believing Julia was never on the plane in the first place, it would make Kyle seem like a crazy person. It would also make the passengers think she could possibly be a terrorist, leading people to believe she'd want money or she'll blow the plane up or something, hence the reason for the bombs as well. Carson needed someone to blame, and for someone who knows the plane from top to bottom, Kyle seems like the perfect person. The death of the Husband was the way to get her on the plane.

It's true, Carson took a big chance that no one would see the girl on the plane at all, but lets say he got lucky and his plan turned out better than he thought, 'cause no one was paying any attention to just another passenger with her daughter. The rest of the passengers arrived after Kyle and Julie already boarded, and at the time Julie was not in her seat, she was playing on the floor.

At the end, Carson was walking off the plane to get the FBI Agents to arrest her, and if that happened, everyone would believe it was Kyle that was behind it all so he'd get away with it, 'cause he already had his money wired. Either that, or he would've just blown the plane up and blamed Kyle for that and still have gotten away with it. It turns out, he wasn't as smart as he thought, because his plan failed.

Carson was an Air Marshall, and his partner was a Flight Attendent.

What are the top 5 Bollywood suspense thrillers ever made?

I wont echo the famous movies like Drishyam, A Wednesday! etc. Rather here are some underrated movies -Shree (2013 film) - This had a great concept but the shoe string budget killed the movie. Though Hussain Kuwajerwala displayed his potential, rest cast was bad with worse acting.Fever (2016 film) - A man wakes up in hospital bed, with his partial memory lost. He remembers his name and few more details, which finally is revealed to be wrong. But how did he got that name stuck to him…is something that hollywood might have implemented like a star. But bollywood budget, direction and movie making skills and super useless songs turned the promising concept into a boring movie.Table No.21 - This is one of the best thrillers bollywood could deliver at low budget. This movie is perfect in all aspects. A must watch movie that keeps you thrilling off the edge.Gumnaam (1965) - This movie holds good even today. The suspense on who’s the killer may not be guessable for today’s audience as well. A must watch classic.Race (2008 film) - This is what can be termed as one of the best thrillers of all time, with a Bollywood touch. In the genre of thrillers, this movie gets you glued to your seats till the last scene. From acting to direction to music to background score to dialogues, this can be regarded as the finest from Bollywood. We know who the villain is. We know when he dies. But “What next” is the question that every scene of this movie holds. Not enough? Watch this movie in minimum 5.1 surround sound woofer system. Listen to the music that follows Akshay Khanna’s dialogue “Tum par meri nazar tabse thi, jabse tumhari nazar Ranveer par thi”Bonus - Aamir (2008 film) is another bollywood movie which is quite underrated but not-to-missCheers!

Which are Bollywood's best thriller(genre) movies ever?

Bollywood has not been good at making good suspense movies. So many times the thrillers end up being a ripoff from a foreign film to the extent that you already know the content of the movie. Though there ain’t a lot of choices my favorite suspense movies are as follows :1. Jewel thief: Hands down the best Bollywood suspense movie I have ever seen is Jewel thief. Be it the impeccable performance from the cast or the scenic backdrop of Sikkim, everything fell into place. At no point, I could guess the suspense. The incredible music was icing on the cake. The movie is a timeless classic.2. Kahaani: After a long dearth of ripoffs there came a mainstream movie which felt original and equally entertaining. The ensemble star cast of Vidya, Nawazuddin, Parambrata, and Calcutta make it so believable. The movie is pure delight. Not to be missed.3. Manorama Six feet under: This lesser promoted movie at the time had all the ingredient for a good suspense thriller - an unknown terrain, lesser-known (well not very active in the recent times ) cast and totally unexpected story line. The small town worked like a charm and so does the Abhay Deol but the real hero was the good story line. Must watch.4. Ugly: This one is my personal favorite from all the movies that Anurag Kashyap has directed. The movie is more philosophical than adventurous. The movie deals with the Ugly side of the human nature amid a kidnapping backdrop. Like most of Anurag’s movies, the cast did a commendable job but watching Ronit Roy was the real deal. Totally worth it.5. Ittefaq (1969) : Back in the days when Yash Chopra used to direct a diverse variety of movies. This is one of the rare Hindi movie with no songs and captivating enough despite being shot in a limited area (one house for most of the time). Movie rode of the star power of Rajesh Khanna and superb performance by Nanda. After a very long time after I had watched the movie I came to know that this movie was a remake of British movie Signpost to murder.Peace

Is the movie Bless the Child (2000) with Kim Basinger similar to The Golden Child (1986) with Eddie Murphy?

They’re similar in that they both revolve around the same widely used plot trope: “A child with the power to alter the balance of cosmic forces in the universe is hunted by [one set of characters] and protected by [another set of characters].”If that sounds familiar, well . . . it’s the basic plot of The Omen (1976), Willow (1988), The Seventh Sign (1988), End of Days (1999), Legion (2010), the Terminator series, the Harry Potter series, and many, many others. That said, The Golden Child plays the story as a fantasy-comedy hybrid set in a stylized Hollywood version of (if I remember right) Nepal, while Bless the Child plays it as straight-up occult horror story about kidnapping and ritual murder in a (relatively) realistic version of New York City.Films like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Big Trouble in Little China (1986), Willow (1988), and The Mummy (1999) probably come closer to capturing The Golden Child’s mixture of exotic fantasy-adventure and smart-aleck hero than Bless the Child does.Bless the Child lines up — in tone and subject matter — more closely with films like The Seventh Sign, End of Days, and Legion, but if I was programming it as half of a double feature I’d pair it with Constantine (2005) . . . with Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz as a cynical exorcist and an NYPD detective caught up in a proxy war between God and Satan.

How has the world changed since you were a child?

oh yeah... woman are allowed to vote and wear pants.
