Thug Or Patron Saint Which One Was Tryavon Martin

Who was the Patron Saint of War?There is no patron saint of war, to my knowledge, in the Roman Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is not an actual fan of wars, and both pre- and post-Crusades, the Church has tried to keep wars to a minimum in Europe. Wars are costly, kill incredible amounts of men, ravages the land, and has untold consequences decades down the line. Thus, the Church would not want a saint to invoke that would permit or promote warfare. During WW1, the Pope often exhorted both sides of the war to cease the fighting and come to terms, with little avail. That said, while the Church is no fan of war, it does have a couple of saints related to war, because soldiers need saints to invoke during their times of need. Saint Michael the Archangel is the patron saint of the military as a whole, and paratroopers specifically. Saint George has an award in the US Army Armor Association. Saint Martin of Tours is another patron saint of the general military, and specifically the cavalry. Saint Barbara is the patron saint of artillerymen and military engineers. Saint Sebastian is the patron saint of soldiers; same with Saint Joan of Arc and Saint Ignatius of Loyola.Patron saints of the military - Wikipedia

As has been noted by some of the other responses, there are a number of saints with the name Thomas. A quick count from one list shows that there are over fifty!I am assuming that you meant St. Thomas the Apostle. He is patron of several interesting areas. One area which might be very obvious is that he is the patron of those who have doubts. As St. Thomas indicated to the other 10 apostles, he doubted their testimony that they had seen the risen Lord and he was not prepared to believe in the resurrection of the Lord until he saw it.Jesus’ mercifully showed Himself to St. Thomas and St. Thomas believed. However, Jesus noted that, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.”Consequently, in an ironic note, he is also a patron of those who are blind because he was urged to believe without seeing.St. Thomas is also the patron of masons, construction workers, architects, builders, stone masons, stone cutters, and surveyors. Why all of these patronages associated with construction?Tradition associates him with having taken the Gospel to India. And, as a result, St. Thomas is a patron of India. As part of his work in India, he is said to have formed and helped build seven churches.

All Saints are patrons of something or other. Usually, it is something in which they are associated with, from back when they were alive.Eg. St. Anthony of Padua is the Saint of lost items, as he once had something stolen from him, but, had been returned.St. Martin of Tours was a soldier in life, so he is the Patron Saint of soldiers (his feast day is November 11′Th. Sound familiar…?)St. Valentine used to secretly marry forbidden couples, hence he is the patron of marriage.

Your thoughts on the whole Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case?

Let me be the first to say, I am a black man, proud black man and will never shy away from this fact. But that don't mean I will be so quick to throw the race card around like that. Here are the facts, George Zimmerman shot and killed an unarmed Trayvon Martin. When I look at George Zimmerman, I understand his point of view slightly, there has been a string of robberies in your neighborhood recently. You see someone acting "suspicious"(who knows if suspicious means walking while black, or actually look like he is generally up to no good, regardless of race). I don't blame him for calling police, good call. But I do blame him for disobeying orders and following Trayvon. That is where I believe he is wrong. His role is to be a neighborhood watch men, not to be Batman. Now I backup and try to be in Trayvon martin's shoes. Middle of the night, want a snack so you walk to the cornerstore. I have done this exact thing before, nothing wrong with that at all. Also happen to be wearing a hoody, like I said completely normal. I wear hoodies all the time. But Suddenly you see somebody following you. (It hasn't been made clear wheter George confronted Trayvon or vice versa, or what exactly started the brawl) This unknown man has a gun. I would be completely scared for my life then as trayvon, and likely act in self defense. Of course, if youre fighting someone with a gun, your goal is to disarm this man. He tried, he failed, the end.

So although I understand Zimmerman was trying to look out for his neighborhood. But it was wrong of him to follow and confront Martin. Its obvious he was up to no good from that point on in my opinion. Trayvon may have not been this sweet innocent saint. He may be a "thug" if you will. That doesn't mean he deserves to die. All in all, Theres not enough evidence for a murder charge, but I do believe he is guilty of manslaughter.

St regulus or Rule Brought the relics of St Andrew from Patras in Greece to Kilrymont in Fife in AD345 approx accompanied buy consecrated virgins whatever that may mean .Whether he meant to go there or was shipwrecked is open to dispute .E a church was founded at the site  and St Rules tower is there to this day at least it was last November  .The ecclesiastical centre of Scotland developed at this point becoming the University of St Andrews in honour of the relics .It served to authenticate the claim of a separate church in Scotland in the middle ages there does not seem to be a specific adoption but  the saltire and  the apostle Andrew were adopted by Robert,King of Scotland legend relates to the Saltire being seen in the sky prior to a victory over the English and it is refered to by Boniface in an edict against Edward 1 of England. It is a long time since I have worn the red gown but some things stay with you  .civis in Universitae sanctae Andreae.

Neville’s patronus (as stated in The Order of The Phoenix) could only be produced in Non-corporeal form meaning that the patronus only appears as mist and not like a corporeal form of a patronus when the charm becomes a spirit animal. Although, even some who could conjure a corporeal patronus only produced a Non-corporeal form like Lupin for example at times (like on the train) he only produced this form due to his fear of the form of his patronus and he reaction from others as his patronus was a wolf as he was scared of its true form.J.k Rowling’s entry on Pottermore:“In some cases a witch or wizard may choose to produce an incorporeal Patronus deliberately, if he or she wishes to disguise the form it generally takes (Remus Lupin, for instance, is afraid that his corporeal Patronus gives too much away).”I think that Neville may have been hiding his patronus probably not at the time of the fifth book but maybe around the seventh book and onward as he may have been frightened of its true form and wanted to hide its identity and that is the reason it was never documented. This is because briefly before becoming a herbology teacher at Hogwarts he was an auror and to become an auror you have to pass an extensive training program one task could possibly include casting a corporeal patronus. Although due to his presence in the Battle of Hogwarts he could have been given the role without the qualifications or passing the training to become an auror. As Harry and Ron both became aurors without having the N.E.W.T qualifications as you need at least five N.E.W.T’s with exceeds expectations and above to qualify for auror training.
