Do you have an Aloe plant? You can actually break open the plant and rub the clear gel-like stuff from inside it onto your burn. If you get to the store buy Aloe (get 100% if you can), or Burt's Bees Banana and Bees Wax Hand Cream (which works especially well for burns). Motrin will help with the pain and swelling. Also, if you keep it elevated above your heart it will help reduce the throbbing pain. Don't use ice, you can give yourself frostbite on top of it as you can't feel your thumb freezing. Dip it into ice water instead like for 5 min, every 15 min. That will help with the pain. If you wrap it with a clean gauze or bandage it will also help with the pain; keeping the air off it. Don't break open any blisters, as this could lead to infection. I feel for you, man. A burn is one of the worse pains in the world! Hope this helps.

I got burned today on my thumb from my car cigarrette lighter, dont ask how. But the burn is a white circle and it hurts so bad! What should i do? ive had ice on it the whole day, and whenever i take the ice offf it feels excruciating. i know its a 2nd degree burn. So what should i do, just continue to ice it and let it heal? ive been icing it all day, it hurts that bad! and i dont have any burn cream.

Fingers numb from a burn?
Ok i was wielding in AG class a few days ago, i wasnt thinking and grabbed some hot metal after its been cut >.<. Anyhow my fingers turned white a little bit (the tips where i touched it) then it blistered up... it was numb at first but i thought it would go away after i popped the blister. Now its been a few days and i popped the blister and its healed for the most part but my fingers still feel a bit numb, kinda like you have tape over your fingers, i can feel with them but they feel numbed.. Any idea if I will get feeling back in them or what to do to fix it?
I burned my hand a little bit and now it's white?
Okay so I burnt a little bit of my thumb, like maybe the size of half a finger nail, and it just turned paper white... It's not like an open wound, it just sort of looks like I have white paint my a small part of my hand. It doesn't hurt but the red area around it does a little bit, but barely. What should I do? I'm inclined to think it's a third degree burn.
