Ti-84 Plus Wont Calculate Math

Get answers in the form of a fraction on a ti- 84 plus calculator?

You would use the [Math] > 1:►Frac token to convert decimals to fractions. For instance, .5►Frac will give you 1/2.

However, the TI-84 Plus isn't able to do that automatically (except if you have TI-OS v2.53MP, which I'll talk about a little later); you'll have to keep using the ►Frac token for each expression you want to convert into a fraction.

Do note that the calculator can display only very basic fractions, i.e. 1/3, 25/13, etc. It won't be able to display radicals, pi, and such as fractions.

If you have TI-OS v2.53MP, you can set the calculator to automatically output fractions. Simply hit [Mode], scroll down to the second page, and then select the n/d option.

MY TI 84 CALCALCULATOR WONT WORK?

Did you find the BACKUP batteries. You need a small phillips screwdriver to remove those.
If you cannot push that reset button with an ink pen, bobby pin, or safety pin { It is in the battery compartment, then remove the back up batteries(CR 1616 or CR1620) for at least 60 seconds then return them to the
calculator, then return the 4 AAA batteries

I need a scientific calculator math class. Would the TI-84 Plus CE or the TI-Nspire CX be a better investment for high school and college?

The TI-84 Plus CE is a great calculator choice for High School, being a calcluator allowed on many standardized tests (not to mention that it looks pretty cool). The TI Nspire CX is a calculator geared towards those who do more complicated math and may want a bit more power for some problems.I’d say if you don’t want to invest money in a new calculator for college, get the Nspire CX (Npsire CX CAS is what you should really go for). You might not be able to use it every time, but you won’t have to pay any more money for a new calculator. If you just want something that you won’t have to worry about being banned/disallowed, get the 84+CE. There are few scenario’s in which you won’t be allowed to use the CE, so it makes a great all round choice. If I were to suggest another calc, I would suggest the TI 89 Titanium, which falls under the same category as the Nspire, but is even better for math (it’s black/white, but worth it in the long run).

How do you turn on a newly bought TI-84 Plus calculator? I put the batteries in and plugged it into my computer for about 30 minutes, but it won't turn on.

It may be that the brightness/contrast needs to be adjusted, especially if the batteries you put in were not at “full strength.” Try pressing ON, and then the “2nd” key, and then press and hold the up-arrow button. If that does not work, you have either defective batteries, or a defective calculator, or both.(By the way, plugging into the computer is irrelevant; the computer is not needed to turn on a TI-84.)How do you turn on a newly bought TI-84 Plus calculator? How do you reset a TI-83 calculator?

Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus FAQBe careful with this as it will remove any programs that you may have stored in the calculator. With that disclaimer stated, here's how to reset it:Press 2nd MEM (that is the second function of the + key)Choose 7 (Reset)Scroll right so that ALL is selectedPress 1Press 2 (Reset, and read the warnings)Note that it is possible that a reset may affect the contrast of your screen. If necessary, you can change the contrast of the screen on the TI-83 by pressing 2nd and then the up arrow (or down arrow) button. You may have to do this repeatedly.

TI 84 Plus Silver calculator wont convert decimals into fractions!?

So my calculator wont covert the decimals into fraction form even when I type the decimal, hit the [MATH] key and press [> FRAC] and hit enter. I keep getting the decimal format ... How do I fix this ?

Thank you in advance!

My Ti-84 graphic calculator won't graph?

The four most likely problems are these:

1) The viewing window for the function is not set to the proper size or location.

2) Is the graph function entered properly. Try posting it to Wolfram and see if the program there thinks the function has been entered properly:
http://www.wolframalpha.com

3) Do you have graphing capability turned on?

4) It looks like you are using capital I for the absolute symbol, because when I compare, the first is absolute symbol on the Yahoo format, and the second is a capital I: ||| I_I
Do you see the difference?

TI-84 Plus Graphing Calculator wont convert to fraction!!?

I think you should put the "Frac" first, like

Frac (24/7590024).

If you do

24/7590024 [Enter]

<3.162045337 E -6>

Frac Ans [Enter],

3.162045337 E -6

would not be a surprise, since 3.162045337 E -6 is a decimal approximation to 24/7590024, and it is fully reduced.

I can't be sure, because I don't have a TI-84 Plus, just the (ancient) TI-81 that doesn't have this feature, and the TI-92, which has a similar feature, but I think a different layout.

Hope this helps.
