Tipping Off Speeders Could We Do This

What are some slang terms used among police officers?

The most derogatory terms for the bad guys and citizens who are just pains in the rectum:A.H. = Adam Henry (A-dam H-enry) If you don’t get it…..sometimes you will hear it as “Jack Hole”…..now what starts with an “A” that ends with HOLE ?RICHARD CRANIUM= What starts with a “D” and is a nickname for Richard ? What is the non-medical layman’s term for the Cranium ? Do these clues HEAD you in the right direction ?

What do police officers think of Waze?

I don't like that it enabled a criminal to more easily locate and kill NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, but he would have located and killed innocent officers regardless. That aside, I don't worry much about it 'tipping off' anyone as to our enforcement action for several reasons:I am always moving. If I am not, I am probably handling a call and am not watching traffic violators. When I sit on a stop sign, it's not for long before someone runs it Bad guys can't help themselves, it is in their nature. If you are a speeder, you will speed in spite of advanced warnings; just like the scorpion and the frog. In California, if you are messing with your cellphone while driving that's another reason to pull you over and give you a ticket. I hear my fellow compatriots  in blue are putting in fake police sightings, which will cause drivers to discount the alerts and continue their nefarious acts and get caught.

Why are most cashiers and food servers female?

With the exception of accounting, the twenty most common occupations for women (which I’m reading from the table in http://www.iwpr.org/publications..., should you wish to follow along) have one thing in common: They’re all considered lesser occupations, either because they don’t produce something or because (like nursing) they’re connected to a higher-status career path. This is a key part of what’s referred to as “male privilege.” Boys and men are traditionally encouraged to find (and hold out for) meaningful and satisfying careers, and employers are more willing to see the male applicants as fitting those positions, whereas girls and women are encouraged to just get whatever jobs are available and take whatever is left. This isn’t theoretical, especially when it comes to waiting tables, and you can see the data backing up the differences that women in restaurants might face in Tipped Over the Edge - Gender Inequity in the Restaurant Industry. There were a lot of similar studies that came out during the recent fight for a living wage for restaurant employees in the United States; among other things, we learned that “living off of big tips” is something that happens far more for men than women, because women don’t generally get the wait staff positions in higher-end restaurants, linking back to that status issue I mentioned at the start.

Why have the police left a marked car by my house? Is it a form of crime prevention or for surveillance using a dash cam?

LOL…that’s a police car? What is that, an Astra? Probably diesel too, isn’t it?You realize you could get away from that thing on a bicycle, right? These are police cars in Texas. I’ve built several of them for the state.I don’t blame you a bit- if the police were staking out my home in that POS, I would be insulted too!It probably broke down there, I imagine…but it might be there to slow people down, I have no idea what techniques police in your neck of the woods use.I know I lived in Oklahoma years ago for a few years, for a flying job. The state police had wooden signs made in the shape of police cars, life size, and then a color billboard vinyl sticker was stuck to each side that was a picture of a cop car with a trooper sitting inside running radar.Another technique I heard about in Louisiana was to take older cop cars out and park them with dummies at the wheel to slow people down. After the jokes started popping up about people being unable to tell the cops from the dummies, they went out to get the cars and discontinue the program, only to find that people had stolen all of the equipment from the cars, and in one case, even the transmission. Why don’t you call the police department and ask them if they are missing a car? Tell them you found it, it’s been parked by your home for days. See what they say.
