Applying for my first job! Help/Tips?

I turned 16 in September and I've been wanting to get a job for awhile now. I just have no clue where to start. I would really like a job in retail, but I'm guessing that I should get more experience before I apply for a job like that? Would a job in the food industry be better for someone who's just starting?

Also, I'm sorta shy and I tend to get nervous and mess up a lot when I'm talking to people I don't really know, so I'm scared about the whole "good communication" part of it. This also makes me wonder how I'm going to deal with job interviews....

Please help! I'm really nervous, and I'm just looking for some guidance from those who have experience with this sort of thing.

Applying for a Job at Zaxby's.?

I'm applying to a job at Zaxby's, and this is my first job application. (ever)

1) If you have a job at any of Zaxby's many branches, or if you have applied to a franchise that is run similarly to Zaxby's, I would definitely like any tips or hints on how to get the job!

2) On the application there is a section that says "Personal References" and it says "Name" "Occupation" "Telephone", does that mean that they want people who recommend me for the job?

3) Also, on the application there is a section that says "General" and it says "What additional job experiences or training have you had other than work experience, military service, and education?"
What would be appropriate to write down for that section?
Would Babysitting and Tutoring count? (Because I did work as a babysitting tutorer 2 summers ago, but I didn't know if I should list that in my Work Experience section - since it's not under a company or anything, or if I should list it under this section or not list at all)

3) Lastly, there is a section under General (again) that says "Activities - civic, athletic, fraternal, etc. (exclude organizations which indiciate race, religion, color, or national orign of members) Does this include school extracurricular activities, or does it mean something like the "Local Library Club" or something like that? Because honestly, outside of school and church, I really don't do anything.
^ I need help on that one the most!

:D Thanks!

Applying for a job at Starbucks?

Hi, I'm a 16 year old male, looking for a job!!
I really love coffee and would love to work for Starbucks and it would also be my first job....
So I have a few questions....
I have a lip piercing, and am more than willing to take it out if I were to be hired.. so should I take it out before interview (If I get called up) or would it be fine to keep it in?
I also have some facial hair (A short goatee) Which im wondering if I should be clean shaven, or if it would be fine to keep it?
Thats pretty much it, I am very out-going and smile alot which I believe would help me quite a bit with the interview and the job if obtained.
Any comments, help, responces appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
