Tips On Getting Long Hair As Quick As Possible.

Fighting with long hair - any tips?

I have been sparring for a while now, and with the headguard it's fine, but when I don't have the headguard, my hair, which comes down to around my chest area, can be an annoyance when I'm trying to fight.

Sometimes it gets in my mouth or comes in front of my face and covers part of my view. I sometimes push kick my sparring partner just so I can get some space to sweep my hair off my face quick.

It doesn't make it terribly difficult to fight, and I still do fine. But the hair can sometimes really piss me off.

I would get it cut, but my girlfriend really loves long hair, and I'm quite happy with the way it looks, too.
However, I would like to know if there is anything I can do or wear that will almost guarantee that I won't be getting hair over my eyes or in my mouth when I'm trying to fight.

Preferably something simple, quick & convenient, so that, say if I was out in the street or at school/work or at the bar or in any sort of real life situation like that and trouble popped up quick, I wouldn't have to spend too long putting it on or preparing it or whatever.

I do already wear elastic headbands, and sometimes I tie it. However, these can fall out, and also if I was in a real fight, my opponent could still use hair as something to grab on to. If I had something that could really secure it and keep it well out of the way, that would be great.

I'm a black male. Can I get my hair to grow quickly?

You can grow your hair to as long as you want. The downfall with many black people with their hair is that they don't properly care for it. They avoid water at all costs (which our hair loves water, it is shampoo that is dries out our hair) or use hair grease when our hair needs moisture (hair grease like Blue Magic blocks out moisture). Caring for our hair is different than caring for other hair types, but just because it is different doesn't mean it is difficult. I am natural, I grew out my natural hair with my last relaxer being September 2009. So 14 months later, my hair is now shoulder length after starting from no natural hair and all relaxed hair. I don't shop in the ethnic hair aisle because the products are made crappy just to sell to make money, whites and koreans rule the black hair industry and make these sucky products that they will never use in their hair if it was the last product on Earth. So stay out of there and read up on how to care for natural hair care because there is so much information that you can receive. But the basic products are:
A sulfate free shampoo, the sulfates in shampoo are drying to our hair. I actually use Baking soda as a shampoo, it is cheap and doesn't damages the hair. I mix 1-2 Tablespoons in 1 cup of warm water, pour it over my head, scrub, and rinse out.
A cheap conditioner, I use Suave.
A water based (meaning the first ingredient is water and does not contain petroleum and mineral oil) leave in conditioner. I use the same conditioner I was with as a leave in conditioner or Organic Root Stimulator leave in conditioner.
A light natural oil. Our hair cannot hold moisture well due to the shape of the strands, just a dime sized amount applied to each section of the hair or a quarter sized amount if you have shorter hair is needed. Not a lot.
A deep conditioner, I use ORS Replishing Pak, it should be done bi-weekly or monthly. It just makes your hair stronger.

The best hair care will help your hair grow. So read up on natural hair care because if you don't know how to care for your hair you will get breakage and lose the length you are trying to gain. That is the main thing with natural hair. You can even find out that your hair grows faster than the 1/2 inch per month average, so don't feel down.

How to get thick long hair fast?

First of all watch your nutrition.
Secondly, regularly oil your hair. It doesn't have to be mustard oil, you can use coconut oil which is used by South Indian women and the smell is fantastic. Or, in the winter (when coconut oil is harder to use because it solidifies - but you can solve this by putting it in a jar instead of in a bottle, and warm it in your hands before rubbing), you can use Amla oil which is again great. You can find some brands with jasmine essential oil in them, so again you smell like heaven.
OK, it is enough to oil your hair the night before you shampoo, once a week (you don't make the mistake of washing your hair more often than that, do you? If you do, no wonder it is so weak, you are stripping it of its natural nourishment and protection). Or, if you want to do it in daytime, for instance on a Sunday, when you know you'll be at home, just oil it, massage the scalp thoroughly with your fingertips (just as if you were shampooing it, the same movements are good), brush or comb the hair so that the oil gets distributed everywhere, then wait for at least 4 hours until you wash.

Most importantly, drink enough water and take care of what you eat. Plenty of fresh stuff, raw salads and fruits, plenty of fibres to remove the toxins from your system. If you are not a vegetarian, jelly helps.

I would also recommend some minerals. I've seen Solgar's "Hair skin and nails" work wonders. You need to take two pills a day for one or two months to see results, but you will. If you cannot find it, just see what the ingredients are and try to find another brand which has a similar product.
It has vitamin C, calcium, zinc and a little copper, a big quantity of MSM, Silicon (from red algae powder), L-lysine and L-Proline.
