Tips on making Splat hair dye last longer?

I just dyed my hair with Splat Blue Envy Hair dye, which a lot of people recommended. I bleached it and I already had blonde hair. I left it in for 45 minutes and it's just the bottom layer. (I'm not sure if all of this matters, but it can't hurt right?)
Are their any tips to make it stay in longer besides don't wash your hair everyday, wash with cold water, Swimming, Hair products, and using color friendly shampoos. I know a lot, I just want to know if their are any more. I have a lot of dye left I don't mind re-doing it once in a while, but it gets annoying lol. Thanks a lot!

I just dyed my hair blue. How do make it last as long as possible?

There are a few commonly recognized tips for preserving fashion colors which are typically semi permanent or direct dye hair colorsWash less oftenUse a sulfate free or tinted shampooCondition well, using a tinted conditioner if possibleWash and rinse with cold or cool waterLimit hot tools such as a straightener, curling iron, or a blow dryerDirect dyes, also known as semi permanent, are colors which are not mixed with peroxide. They don’t develop within the hair through chemical reaction and instead act as a stain or coating on the hair. Treating the hair gently is usually the key to prolonging the vibrancy of the colors.

How can I make my purple hair color stay in longer?

The short version: don’t wash your hair, and keep it healthy. The long version:Wash your hair as little as possible. I usually wash every third day, but when my hair is bright colored I often wait 4–5 days. When you do wash it:Do it quicklyKeep the water coolUse a gentle, non-sulfate shampooCondition your hair wellIf you have extra semi-permanent dye, you may be able to add some to your shampoo which will refresh your color while you wash— check with the brand or read the instructions. Or, pick out a shampoo or conditioner with pigments already in them.Protect your hair from the elements: sun, salt, wind, and water. If it’s sunny, wear a hatAvoid exposure to salt, even in salt beachy wave hair spraysWhen it’s rough out, protect your long locks with a good conditioner, braid, or pony to avoid drying and tanglingIf you are going to swim without a cap, rinse your hair first in clean water and apply oils to protect your hair from damage.I’m currently trying to fade out my color so I can pick a new color, which means I’m basically doing the exact opposite. Tips to keep Splat hair dye in as long as possible?

Something I did last time when I dyed my hair a dark teal/blue color was after leaving the dye in for about an hour, I rinsed it with vinegar. I then rinsed it with as cold of water as I could handle until the water ran clear. To me, it made the color much more vivid and it lasted well over a month, in fact I only re-dyed it because of my roots. But the vinegar did not smell at all after it was rinsed out, contrary to what the above poster said about rinsing with vinegar. I really believe it works and it can't hurt trying.
I would also recommend bleaching your hair as much as possible if you are really committed to having an edgy hair color like blue. If you are worried about damaging it too much, usually a good conditioning treatment can do the trick, or even these temporary hair colors like blue can restore some of the health. You also might want to consider just getting it bleached professionally or at least go to a beauty school to get it done if money is an issue. They will almost always do a better job than you can because they really know what they're doing and are using higher-quality bleach.
Good luck with your hair, and know that sometimes people who want the color to always stay vivid and strong simply re-dye it every few weeks when it starts to fade a little bit. Sure that might be a hassle but hey being beautiful isn't always easy.

How long wil spray in hair dye last?

I am a youth leader at my church and last year at the fall festival (our halloween) I sprayed the girls hair blue and orange. Here are some tips.

Style your hair first
Cover your clothes with a towel
Have a warm wet washcloth ready and a little soap handy for any spray that might get on your skin.

If you are a sweaty person or are in gym class during the day or have a pep rally ... dont spray all over, or it will run.
I would do streaks for an 8 hour school day. This stuff is stiffening and can look bad by the end of the day. Another option is a colored gel which you can find online or in a walmart salon or other salon.

Good Luck and Have a great day on Spirit Day.

How do I dye my hair blue if I have brassy color tones?

You need to have your hair lightened (with bleach) to a higher level, as close to platinum/white as you can get it. As of right now, you could put blue dye over the brassy color you have, but it'll likely end up a muddy greenish color. Blue can be difficult to get right yourself because you need your hair to be extremely light for it to actually end up looking blue. If your hair has lightened to an orangeish blonde, it's likely around a level 7 - 8. For blue to actually look blue, you need your hair to be a level 10+. Getting your hair that light can be extremely damaging, and I would NEVER recommend doing it yourself, period. Even when you get it done professionally by a master stylist, your hair will be damaged if you take it that light, but at least we know how to do it with the least amount of damage possible, and we can use professional grade products and deep conditioners to help prevent as much damage as possible, and make the damage less noticeable and more manageable. I have seen people literally melt their hair off trying to get their hair to platinum at home. Please don't try it. If you put a blue toner over orange-blonde hair, it will neutralize the orange and give you a nice blonde. If you put a bright blue color over orange-blonde hair, it'll likely end up muddy and strange since the orange will be directly acting against the blue, and it could end up a muddy, swampy green if the hair has yellow tones as well. What you need to be careful of is the yellow tones that come out when you lighten hair past the orange stage. At a level 9 your hair will be yellow (more like the outside of a banana...not that intense, but you get the picture), and at a level 10, your hair will be more the yellow of the inside of a banana. Obviously, yellow+blue=green, so you need to get your hair past that yellow stage and remove as much pigment as possible from the hair before applying the blue. I've seen a lot of people lighten their hair to a level 9 or so, and then just put blue over it thinking that the blue will cover it all up....Nope, they just end up with green...and not a pretty "I meant to do that" green, a bad green.
