How to improve french kissing?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for a few months. We rarely french kiss, because we feel we aren't doing it right. We are both sixteen, have never french kissed anyone before..so you can't blame us for not knowing if we are doing it right. What we usually do is, we go in circular motions..but it feels like it's so confusing, and our tongues get caught..and he says,"is it just me or are we doing this wrong?" Then that's when we usually stop...please help, how do we improve? Oh, and another thing..we don't usually take breaks..like we tongue each other for a few minutes then stop..and when we are doing it are our mouths supposed to be locked together? Ugh french kissing confuses me

Tips to improve French listening ability?

I was a language student and today, I still have to keep up with the languages I learned. I do this by listening to the radio over the internet. The following site leads to loads of French radio stations:

Europe 1 is quite good for students. When you get more proficient, you can listen to France culture or Radio France. You can re-hear or download the programs, so that you can hear them on your MP3-player anywhere.

Also, if you live in a large town, check if there is a French club or an "Institut francais" there.

It would also be a good idea to look for a French native of your own age in your town (for example an au-pair who is learning English or a foreign student at your local university or simply a French person who happens to live there for any other reason). Then you can work as a tandem, ie, you teach that person English, they teach you French.

Also there are loads of videos for French learners on You tube, for example, but not exclusively:

How do I improve French reading skills?

I think it depends on your current level. The key is in my opinion to read something interesting, indeed when I learn German I won't read an economic essay or financial post...1) Beginner - Manga or Belgian comics, they are perfect to improve your reading skills. It won t be too complicated and the drawing helps you to get the context. The purists will then say have a pen and a paper to write down the word you do not get and then translate them. I like to write couple of them but not all otherwise I am not reading anything at all and getting bored...2) Intermediate - I would try to read blogs, website (still in a field you like).Magazines are also easy to read. Of course you can start with books, more novels than philosophical book or technical ones.3) Advance - I would say target the field you want to improve your reading field. ( for example if I want to improve my logistics skill I won t read a cookbook...)And one point which helps me a lot is when you look for a word, do not translate it first but get a french thesaurus, synonym dictionary or a french dictionary. It will help you to think in french and to do connection in the language you wanna learn. Of course if you do not get the words neither the translation take a look at the classical English to French, Italian, German & Spanish Dictionary. Or Dictionary for German, French, Spanish, and more Have fun !

How can I improve my listening skill in French?

You are probably listening to stuff that is too difficult for you and you aren't listening to the same thing enough times. Try something easier and then work your way up from there. I like the TPRS method, whereby you listen to short stories that are fun and interesting, and then you get a lot of questions asked about the individual sentences in the story. This helps you to check your understanding of what you are listening to. Ben Slavic's Bucky Va Ă  Paris is an example of a program that uses this method. TPRS | TPRS Training | Comprehensible Input | Ben SlavicThere are many good podcasts as well, once you achieve a better understanding of the language. For example, Native French Speech offers free transcripts with their podcasts, so you can listen to a podcast over and over again, while reading along, so that if you can't understand it just by listening, you can actually see the words. This will help a lot. But the number issue is to not jump around so much to different resources, focus on one story, one podcast, one interview, one movie and listen to it as much as 20 times. The more times you listen, the more you will understand. Then move on to something else. You must train your ear to hear the sounds of the language, and often native speakers will not enunciate each word, but rather run words together. You have to expect that, accept it and get used to it. It takes time. Good luck!

What are some tips for improving one's French speaking skills?

The way you get better at any skill you're trying to improve: practice. Practice speaking, reading, writing, and listing to French every day or for as many days in a row that you can. You have the internet with infinite lessons and videos, you can join conversational meet up groups near you, you can read books and magazines online, on a reader or borrowed from the library or bought from a bookstore. But of all those activities, speaking is the most important. The more you speak to yourself and in your head and to others who can gently correct you, the quicker you will improve. The above advice goes for weather you are living in a Francophone country or not. If you are, you willl see results much faster than someone who does not. But with enough hard work, patience, and…practice, you can speak correct and fluent French.

How can I improve my French listening skills?

I agree with Caitlin, I think you should try Duolingo it's free and a great program. I love it.
Also, I would recommend trying to watch more movies and tv in French, if you can get subtitles of course that is a plus. You could try to replace everything you watch with French movies and shows if you really want to.
A great thing you can do is find a song you like in French, do not look up the lyrics and try to write down all the lyrics without looking them up. It takes awhile sometimes and you might not get all the words but it is extremely helpful in my opinion.
Lastly, the best thing you could do is get in contact with a French speaking person who wants to learn English. I waited too long to do this (with Spanish) and I've learnt more in the past 3 days than I would have thought possible, I improved so much. I use an app called HelloTalk but you can find a number of different ones by searching "language exchange). I didn't do it for so long out of fear of being embarrassed about how bad my grammar and pronunciation was but everyone is so understanding because they are learning too. Try it out!
