To Any Dentists Out There I Have 2 Huge Stains On My 2 Front Teeth They Arent Yellow Though

Why are my teeth more yellow near the gum line?

This is the natural shading of the tooth structure. Teeth generally tend to be slightly darker (yellower) at the gum line, lighter towards the biting surface, and a blend in between. On the front teeth, a gray color may be visible on the edge of the tooth. The amount of variation varies from on person to the next. Some people have a small amount of variation and others a great deal. Even the blended area between can be a wide area or a very sharp change from one shade to the next. When a crown is made for a tooth, it is important that the different shades are communicated to the laboratory making the crown. If this is not done, a monochromatic crown will not quite match the surrounding crowns. This is a problem wth some of the CAD CAM produced crowns. The acrylic used to machine the crowns are monochromatic and well not accept stain to produce the proper shading oh the crownAnother possibility is recession of the gums leaving root structure showing. The root structure is the color of the underlying dentin which is much yellower than the enamel of the crown. On occasion, we see patients who brush too hard. This can thin the enemal at the gum line and allow the darker and yellower dentin to show through the tooth.

Why are reasons for teeth being yellowish even after brushing it everyday?

The colour of your teeth is influenced by a few factors.Your skin and natural pigmentation often has an impact as does your diet and how well you clean your teeth. It is said the ‘natural’ whiteness of your teeth starts out as the same colour as the white’s of your eye. Everyone has slightly different shades of white to their eye, some are naturally darker or lighter.Your diet can have a big part to play in the colour of your teeth. If you smoke, drink a lot of tea, coffee or red wine that are known to ‘stain’ the teeth this can impact the colour of your teeth.Although you may brush twice a day you must ensure you are brushing correctly and for at least 2 minutes to reduce the chances of the staining getting too bad. If you are not sure, research how to brush your teeth properly.Within the tooth there is something called dentin which can also change the colour of the teeth. Typically as you get older this will discolour and go more of a yellow colour, so age has an impact here too. Drinking water and eating a healthy balanced diet can help keep dentin whiter for longer. If you are particularly concerned, seek the advise and opinion of a dentist. Going to the hygienist may be an option to quickly and effectively remove any surface stains from the teeth and get the teeth looking as white as they can be without cosmetic surgery. You could also try a whitening toothpaste for a period of time. These typically are more aggressive at removing stains from the teeth. It is a bit of a myth as whitening toothpastes don’t actually whiten teeth, they just more aggressively remove stains. Therefore the results can be different for different people.

How can I remove this yellow hard stuff on my teeth?

The ‘hard yellow stuff’ on your teeth is basically calculus deposit or often referred to as dental plaque or tartar. When you eat too much sweet or starchy food and ignore to brush your teeth with a good toothbrush, these stubborn deposits occur on your teeth.Plaque and tartar are deposited bacteria that are accumulated due to poor oral care, when saliva, fluids, and food particles combine they produce these deposits. This deposit gets collected where the teeth and gums meet, either on front or back of your teeth and it can also form on both sides. Also, the bacteria in the plaque produce acids that can damage your tooth enamel and your gums. This damage of enamel can form cavities or worsen the small ones while spoiling your smile along with bad breath. If you don’t get rid of plaque on time, the damage it causes can become permanent and irreversible. Millions of bacteria reside in the plaque that feed on the food and drinks you daily consume. If such calculus deposits are not removed by regular brushing with the best sonicare toothbrush, they can host gum diseases along with tooth decay and permanent tartar buildup. While you can remove plaque at home by using the best oral care products, for removal of tartar buildup you will require the help of a dental professional.Don’t worry! It is a pretty common problem as about 68% of adults have tartar or calculus deposits. You should always avoid eating foods high in sugar including sweets and cakes which can increase the bacteria in plaque. Calculus deposits can lead to gingivitis, cavities, and advanced gum diseases, so it is necessary for you to get rid of plaque at home and further prevent it.

Boyfriend has yellow teeth ,can whitening even help?

yellow teeth usually whiten reasonable well, however if he has had them all his life then it is more likely that the stains are inside the tooth. He should visit his dentist and get evaluated. There are a few options:

1. bleaching - the dentist will make custom trays and prescribe you a bleaching kit, usually 10% carbamide peroxide
- this usually will work, however the length of time varies with different people. It could work in a month or take up to a year.

2. veneers - your dentist will be able to place a white porcelain over his existing teeth to make them whiter.
- this will work on most all patient. however your teeth are transparent, meaning you see through them, so it would still be advisable to bleach his teeth prior to having the veneers placed. If his teeth are severely stained then in order to whiten his teeth with veneers, the veneers may need to be more opaque, meaning light can't pass through them. This will make his teeth more like a toilet bowl, but will be able to whiten them none the less.

the success of bleaching depends greatly on why his teeth are stained. If he truly has had stained teeth since birth, then there could be a few causes: dental fluorosis and tetracycline staining to name a few.(however these usually don't cause yellow teeth but more brownish color.)

Help nothing is working to whiten my YELLOW teeth I am desperate for a working product!?

Whitening toothpastes generally don't work and are just a marketing gimmic. They just contain mild abrasives and low levels of peroxide to supposedly help whiten teeth. Yes, they do remove light surface stains, but anything more than that due to drinking coffeed, teas etc, will not get whiter from using a whitening toothpaste.

These types of toothpastes are great for after you have achieved a desired level of whitening, but to actually whiten one's teeth they do not work that great. I have two suggestions for you with two price differences and two options with pros and cons.

First option is using an over the counter whitening product such as Crest Whitestrips. Pros? Generally not expensive, usually around $50.00 or so, fairly easy to apply, can taste bad if not applied correctly(if you accidentally ingest any you can get a sore throat, stomache ache). Cons? Personally they make my teeth very sensitive and I don't think they do THAT great of a job. They also don't whiten every single tooth in your arch. They typically only reach up until your premolars. But your molars are not whitened.

It's okay because you don't typically see your molars when smiling, but I personally like it better when all the teeth in the arch are whitened so it looks more natural.

Second option is to go to a dentist and get a professional whitening system. This involves getting custom made trays made to your teeth (you will need a set of impressions), and this can cost anywhere from $150-200 at the dentist. Pros? Custom fit trays adapt to your teeth well, whitening gel is placed in the tray and covers every single teeth in the arch. (if tray is made that way). The whitening gel that is used is typically carbomide peroxide and it is of a MUCH higher percentage. So you get faster and better whitening results.

Since it is higher in peroxide, you need to monitor how much you are using and be safe with using these products. Dentists will only give you so many carpules to take home, and then you have to come back to the dentist for a check up to make sure you are not over doing it. I personally love a product by Ultradent as it worked very well for me.

These are just some things to consider when wanting whiter teeth.

Are yellow teeth really bad?

I am going to be honest in this regard with you. Some people naturally have yellow teeth. The credit goes to their parents. You cannot consider yellow teeth bad for them because of genetic reasons. But some people have yellow teeth because of the following reasons:lack of regular and proper dental/oral healthcare.Consumption of oily, greasy, creamy fast foods, alcohol, beer, tobacco products, alcoholic products, caffeinated and carbonated products and intoxicants.Smoking and long term use of medicines. In such cases, it becomes important for the people having yellow teeth to be careful about their level of oral/dental healthcare. It is because yellow teeth pave way for cardiovascular diseases, kidney issues, betimes, cancer, arthritis rheumatoid and many other health hazards to affect the functionality of their body adversely. They also have to face issues related to brain such as memory loss etc.Yellow teeth can also cause issues related to eyesight. The chances of tartar, plaque, cavities and gum issues, periodontal issues and tooth decay multiply. All in all, it is important that you get rid of yellowness on your teeth. There is a way to get rid of it. It is not so expensive.Just visit your dentist/oral healthcare expert regularly and use the best sonic care toothbrush he/she advises you. It is because it is electric and has the bristle motion speed to produce more than 31,000 teeth strokes in 2 minutes.Brush teeth daily. Once in the morning for minutes and before the breakfast. Once in the evening for 2 minutes after the dinner.Quit smoking and boozing immediately and forever.Stop consuming beer, all alcoholic products, tobbaco products, intoxicants, carbonated, caffeinated beverages and fast foods. You can also use teeth whitening strips once in every 3–4 months.Rinse your mouth immediately after you eat or drink anything,I hope i have answered your question perfectly.

I have naturally yellow teeth, don't smoke or drink coffee, what is the best and least damaging approach for teeth whitening?

Hey :)My specialty is more surgical, but as a consumer who had used different products, I wanted to share my advice.I grew up with discolored teeth.  I'm told it is because I had a fever or a reaction to medication as a child - either way it left me with white spots.  While I have been told my teeth were actually white, due to the contrast with the calcium deposits, I felt they were discolored. Kind of like this...I tried Crest Whitestrips, which in their defense, did work.  However, it did not work perfectly.  The thing that I didn't think about was one major flaw in their execution of whitening.  Those strips do a wonder on whitening the portion of the tooth that they come in contact with.  While they seem to be quite flexible and adhesive, it is difficult (almost impossible) to get proper coverage.  Specifically, the dip and cracks in-between your teeth.  My experience with these can be represented in the artwork below :)I felt like the contrast between the SUPER BRIGHT WHITE and the darkness of the dips, were even more noticeable than just having dull colored teeth. So, I went to my Dentist and he made a mold of my teeth for an at home teeth whitening procedure.  It was around $200 and totally worth it!!  He gave me some vials of this really sticky gel and at night I would squirt it into the mold.  When you put the mold in your mouth, you can feel the gel spread all over your teeth AND in the dips (real thorough and consistent). I did this for about 5 days and the results were fantastic!Throughout the years I have inquired with him about it and any time I do (maybe once every two years) he'll give me a vial of gel for free.  He said the main reason he had to charge initially was for the mold, not the whitening gel.  He said lots of Sales Reps leave samples of products behind, so it's great for him to give those samples to patients and see the results.Long story short, I would encourage you to explore that option as I am very happy with it! :)One final note, if you whiten your teeth, don't brush your teeth on the night of the treatment.  I was told that some of the anti-staining qualities of toothpaste can actually "block" the effectiveness/absorption of the bleaching.I hope this helps?  Good question!
